"Did you see that?"
Izna was shocked to witness how easily Logan sliced off the zombie's head from its shoulders.
Snaked nodded. Even though he looked unphased by Logan's sudden charge against the zombies, it really surprised him. Not because it was Logan who killed the zombie, but because he realized it was possible to kill the undead.
Prior to rescuing Logan, the duo had encountered a small group of Zombies and, despite their best attempts, they couldn't get rid of a single one of them. Those bastards were way too resilient for someone who was dead.
The best thing they could do was to make some noise and distract them to ensure their safety.
Yet Logan took care of them with ease. They would have believed he got lucky if he only killed one of them. But within moments, he killed not one but all fifteen zombies that were there.
"Yes, I can do it!" A smile flashed across Logan's face. "A few more kills, and I'll be ready for the next round."
Logan couldn't stop smiling as notifications flooded his vision. He had missed this feeling for so long that he couldn't even remember. Soon after he became a full-time streamer, his life became monotonous and the game itself lost its charm for him.
He lost the reason he began streaming in the first place, which was to have fun. Who would have never imagined he would find the thrill ever again? Especially in a prison.
The more zombies he killed, the more stats and gold he earned. He even climbed his way to level 3, simply by killing fifteen zombies.
He could feel his strikes getting stronger, while his body began feeling lighter because of the stats points he got.
The only problem was that the game randomly gave stats for every kill. To maximize the points he got, it was important to kill as many zombies as possible in the remaining time.
He remembered there used to be a level cap during the tutorial. That's why he needed to get as much out of the weak zombies as he could. Before the stronger ones began spawning.
Also, thanks to the effect of his title, gaining stats and gold became a lot easier. So far, everything was going his way.
By the time he finished, the zombie's rotten blood had covered the kukris, giving it a special stench. But rather than cleaning the blood off the blades to avoid them losing any durability, Logan allowed the blood to remain there. Soon, a notification appeared in front of him.
__
Due to not receiving proper maintenance, Scrap Metal Kukri's durability has decreased.
The Scrap Metal Kukri seems to react to the undead blood. The undead blood has corrupted the blades!

The blades changed their form as soon as the notification appeared. They no longer had the classic rusty look of a weapon crafted using scrap metal. Instead, they turned completely black, with a tinge of red blood running along the edges of the blade.
The blade itself appeared to be fairly simple and had no markings, no decorations, and no engravings. Except for the bloody sharp edge.
'Hm... so the same Easter eggs work here as well. That's good.'
When Logan said he had earned the perfect score for the tutorial, he meant every word. Unlike the other games, Devil's Assassin was a game that's progression also depended on finding various Easter eggs hidden within the game.
Also, the game developers made various rewards available to encourage the players to search for these Easter eggs.
Just like Logan had found an extremely rare weapon in the tutorial, which usually should have capped the grade of weapons and gear found to rare, even with the title of [Tutorial Explorer] equipped.
Using Zombie's blood to enhance the melee weapon was one such Easter egg. Logan had reservations about whether the modifications in Tartarus Online would be successful, leading him to decide to test it with his kukris.
If it worked, all good, and if the blood messed up the blades, he could just find more scrap metal and make new ones.
The rankings for the equipment were pretty much the same as in the other games. First was Common, then Uncommon, Rare, Extremely Rare, Epic tier, ranging from Epic 1 to Epic 3, Tier 3 being the strongest, legendary tier (L1 to L3) and finally the Mythic tier (M1 to M5).
"I should check the stats to make sure the weapon is bound to me or someone might try to steal it."

"Logan, what is going on here?" Izna asked him as they walked up to him. "And where did you get those blades from?"
"Let's just say... I got lucky?" He smiled while staring at the kukris, "Come on, we don't have time to waste. There's a lot we need to do before the first round gets over."
