Chapter 50 - Weapon Intent.

Neo lay in his treehouse with a dazed expression on his face. He couldn't believe the technique his parents had gifted him was so overpowered!

It was too good!

With this technique, the concept of being overwhelmed by numbers would mean absolutely nothing.

Neo could already envision the future. It would be like this...

If he faced one enemy, he would strike once, and they would die. If he faced a thousand enemies, he would still strike only once, and they would all perish.

Wasn't this technique too incredible?

Neo held the tome like it was a precious baby. Another stupefying thought suddenly entered his mind.

'And there's more?'

He had clearly heard the mysterious man tell him to come back and learn more peaks. Wasn't that mind-boggling?

How powerful was this art exactly?

Neo felt as though the simple black tome suddenly weighed a hundred tonnes. The value of this treasure was simply inconceivable, and his parents had given it to him just like that?

Neo was still deep in thought when the black tome suddenly pulsed.

His vision abruptly darkened, and his mind glitched.

For a split second, it felt as though he wasn't in control of his mind, but everything suddenly returned to normal.

A flood of information surged into Neo's mind.

"Gah!"

The transfer of information from the tome to his mind was excruciating. Neo's mind felt as if it were being pierced by thousands of hot needles.

His eyes grew bloodshot, and his breathing became strained.

Though the transfer of information lasted only a few seconds, it felt like hours to Neo.

He had thought that the process would be less painful now that he had become a Spiritual, but the contents of this art were still so powerful that he experienced excruciating pain all the same.

Countless strands of information began to flow into his mind—details about the spear art, its dance, its mantra, and its mastery levels were all downloaded into his brain.

To learn a weapon art, one needed to perform its dance while repeating its mantra over and over again.

By doing this continuously for a long period of time, one would attain enlightenment and be able to unleash the art without needing to perform the dance.

This was the normal way to train and learn an art.

The entire process of learning an art was about achieving assimilation while performing the dance. The sooner one could do that, the better.

This was why there were geniuses and ordinary people.

A genius could attain assimilation in a basic level art after just a week of training, while an ordinary person might take months to achieve assimilation with the same art.

Once assimilation was achieved, one would be considered to have mastered the art to a certain extent and could now unleash it during battles.

Neo reviewed the information about the first peak in his mind.

It wasn't overwhelming, and he was able to process it within minutes. But the mantra was so powerful that every time he tried to read it, he would get a splitting headache.

When he forced himself to read it anyway, the pain was so intense that he almost lost consciousness!

Neo was speechless. What was this?

He hadn't even read more than three words!

Neo began to ponder. Why couldn't he learn it? How was he supposed to master the art if he couldn't even learn the mantra?

Just as Neo began to suspect that the art was a scam, a new piece of information appeared in his mind.

Neo read the line of information and sighed.

It stated that in order to learn this art, one had to have achieved at least the basic level of Spear Intent.

'Spear Intent!'

Among the seven known forms of energy, Weapon Intent was one of the more difficult to master.

It ranked at least fourth in difficulty.

Weapon Intent was the energy that allowed one to impose their will directly onto their weapon.

Yes, through Weapon Intent, one could make their weapon do anything!

You want your weapon to float? Weapon Intent could do that. You want your sword to curve like a whip? Weapon Intent could do that too!

You want your arrows to track moving targets, or your spear thrust to reach anywhere you could see?

Weapon Intent could do all that.

In short, Weapon Intent was the way to control and communicate with your weapon!

You could literally make it do anything!

And now Neo had to learn the basic level of this energy?

Neo sighed once again. He had to bury his dreams of stabbing Chester a thousand times and turning him into a sieve for now!

He had already planned to postpone learning the intermediate level of the Overlord Spear Manual until he escaped the Spirit Realm, but it seemed fate had other plans.

To learn Weapon Intent, there was one reliable method: mastering a weapon manual to the intermediate level.

Once someone had learned any weapon manual to the intermediate level, they would achieve assimilation and attain basic Weapon Intent.

To comprehend intermediate Spear Intent, one had to master a weapon manual to the advanced level. But not only was that insanely difficult, most weapon manuals only reached the intermediate level, and advanced-level ones were rare.

Earth-level weapon manuals were exceedingly rare and could only be found in large families, huge organisations, or the military, so comprehending the advanced level of Weapon Intent was nearly impossible.

Neo casually ate a pink fruit and climbed down from his treehouse.

He picked up his spear and turned towards the forest.

He had just mastered the basic level of the spear manual, so he at least had to test it out in a real battle.

He marched into the forest with a determined expression.

Armed with the concepts of sharpness and weightlessness, mind enhancement from his Mind Path, and basic-level spearmanship, he was going to see how strong he had become.

He was going to fight a common-grade beast!
