Chapter 49 - The Peak Of Infinity!

"The Peak of Infinity!"

No sooner had the man's words fallen than a deafening boom was heard.

Boom!

Neo's heart jolted, and his consciousness flickered. The shockwaves from that single sound alone had almost managed to destroy his mind!

Neo was stunned. What could produce such an unreal sound, even in space?

The answer came instantly.

A huge, gaping black tear in space suddenly appeared. The tear was so vast and terrifying that the moment it manifested, the void itself began to crack!

It was as though the world was ending!

Neo's imaginary heart pounded frantically at the catastrophic scene before him, and he felt faint.

What in the hell was this?!

Then, he heard it.

Growl!!!

A demonic, inhuman growl echoed from within the tear in space.

Neo shuddered. That growl—or rather, those growls—definitely came from deadly, terrifying creatures!

What kind of technique was this?!

Neo began to panic. He didn't want to see what he shouldn't. If his consciousness saw something so terrifying that it shut down, he'd have no one to blame!

Actually, he would blame his parents!!

There should have at least been a warning in the letter!

Just as Neo was doing his utmost to stay alive under the dreadful pressure emanating from the tear in space, a soothing voice entered his ears.

"Watch closely!"

Neo's consciousness focused on the lone young man with the green spear, who remained calm and relaxed.

Neo stared at the man in shock. Wasn't he even a tiny bit afraid of the terrifying creatures about to rush out at him?

Who in the world was he?

Neo couldn't ask any of these questions and could only watch in silence.

He watched as the young man slowly floated towards the tear in space, wearing a nonchalant expression.

Compared to the size of the tear, this young man wasn't even 1% of its size. In fact, he wasn't even 0.001%!

The tear was massive.

After getting a bit closer to the tear, the man came to a halt and floated silently.

Then, the tear suddenly shook!

Neo's mind went completely blank as an uncountable number of what could only be described as demons emerged from the tear.

He couldn't think, couldn't control his consciousness, couldn't even stare at them properly. But from the little he could see…

Neo fell into a trance. His mind was transported to a realm of blood and gore, where the sky was red, and the ground was an ocean of blood.

There were thousands, millions, even trillions of skeletons in this world, and the air was so thick with the scent of blood that it made the world hazy!

A shocking pain suddenly surged through Neo's mind.

Bang!

His vision darkened under the pain, and his mind glitched. He wanted to scream but didn't know how! He wanted to die but didn't know how!

Just as Neo was about to lose his mind under the terrifying torment of the red world, his vision cleared, and his consciousness returned to space.

Neo went cold with fear. It was only his consciousness, yet he was so scared that he felt as though he were freezing all the same!

What kind of terrifying creatures were these?!

Had his mind been pulled into an illusion just by looking at them?!

Was he that weak? Or were they just too powerful?

There was no time to wonder. The moment the demons emerged, the young man holding the green spear began to glow black.

In the expanse of space, the faint glow was almost unnoticeable, but the ancient, archaic aura that emanated from it made the glow stand out with unmatched majesty.

Neo felt like he was staring at a god. The man hadn't even made a move yet, and Neo was already in awe. And when the man did move…

He slowly swept his spear in a graceful arc. The spear blade moved like the world itself, both light and heavy.

Neo forgot everything as he watched the man begin to dance. The green spear coiled around him in stunning arcs and elegant thrusts.

It felt as if he were becoming one with the spear!

The rampaging demons charged at the man with unrestrained bloodlust. Their roars shook the void, and their immense pressure shattered space.

They moved at blistering speeds, covering light-years in milliseconds!

If Neo had been paying attention, his understanding of true strength would have been turned upside down.

These demons were terrifying!

Yet, the young man continued to dance. His movements became faster and more fluid, flowing from one move to the next with unmatched elegance.

Finally, when the demons were frighteningly close and about to reach him in milliseconds, the man gently thrust his spear towards them.

Before he even completed the thrust, Neo was overwhelmed by a strong sense of impending death. He felt as though the hands of the universe were slowly closing around him, and there was no way to escape.

Instinctively, he knew that death was his only fate!

Shuaa!!

The thrust hit nothing but the void, yet a deathly black aura beamed out of the spear's tip and collided with—

Hold on!

Neo couldn't believe his eyes. The man had only thrust his spear once, yet, without fail, a gaping hole was torn in space where each demon's head had been!

Their heads were completely destroyed—each and every one of them!

What kind of sorcery was this?!

Hadn't the man only thrust his spear once? How had the strike appeared in so many places?

Neo's thoughts trailed off as he came to a realisation.

'The Peak of Infinity... One spear turned into... infinity?'

Such a technique could exist?!

Such a broken technique could exist?!

For real?!

Wait a minute...

Neo abruptly froze. Was he really going to learn this technique?

"Yes, you will. The Peak of Infinity is divided into three forms: The Infinity Thrust, The Infinity Sweep, and The Infinity Merge."

As though he could read his thoughts, the young man slowly floated towards Neo and smiled. Neo felt utterly minuscule under his calm gaze.

He felt so exposed…

"One spear dance to learn them all, three mindsets to master them. We shall meet again after you've mastered this peak. Farewell!"

Neo was still in shock as his consciousness was transported back to the underground world.

One sentence echoed in his mind...

'Can I really learn this?!'
