Aurora, standing nearby, took a step closer, her worried eyes darting back and forth between Jaime's aggressive stance and Raena's bewildered expression. Moss and Fern exchanged nervous glances, clearly uncomfortable with the rising storm of emotions swirling in the air around them.
"I'll get straight to the point," Jaime continued, his tone harsh and cutting, even as he struggled to keep his emotions in check. "Jaun. He didn't come to practice today. He's gone. And I'm pretty sure you know something about it."
Raena felt her breath catch in her throat at the mention of Jaun's name.
"Jaun… gone?" she echoed, the weight of his words sinking in. Her mind raced frantically, trying to comprehend the implication behind what Jaime had just said.
Jaun was gone? Why would he leave without saying anything?
Had he mentioned anything to her in passing?
And why would he mention anything to her, anyway?
