Chapter 4 - Moon Town

Within an hour, Fang Wei arrived at Moon Town. Since the town was designated for meetings and rest, and not affiliated with any sect, there was no entry fee.

As he entered, he was greeted by the tumultuous panorama and vibrant atmosphere of the town. Cultivators clad in elegant robes moved in and out of the lined-up pavilions, most carrying weapons attached to their clothing.

The entire Moon Town resembled a bustling market, but this did not faze Fang Wei. Coming from a world of advanced magic, the Moon Town felt more like a village to him.

Still, it held its own unique charm.

Now, where can I get some healing medicine... He wondered.

Fang Wei glanced around, only finding shops selling clothes, weapons, and mostly restaurants on every street. The pagodas standing in the middle of each street were dedicated to alchemy.

Overall, the shops were well-organized, and it didn't take long for him to locate a store that sold what he needed.

Before purchasing healing medicine, he decided to visit a clothing shop to buy some new attire. His current clothes were torn and stained with blood, drawing unwanted attention from passersby.

As for why not a single person had pestered him by now: it was simply because it was impossible for a mortal to arrive at Moon Town, especially from the direction he had come from. Just by looking at his injuries, any cultivator could tell that he had fought a grave battle with powerful demonic beasts and received those injuries. Still, the major reason was none other than the fact that they couldn't see through his cultivation.

"Welcome, Senior, to my humble shop," the bald shopkeeper greeted, rubbing his hands together. "We offer all kinds of clothing here. Would you like to see them, Senior?"

Fang Wei merely nodded and replied, "A robe is fine." As he spoke, he tossed the demonic core in his hand toward the shopkeeper.

The bald man inspected the demonic core and identified it as being from a Mid-tier Rank 1 beast. Immediately, he became even more respectful and began showing Fang Wei various top-quality clothes available in his shop.

The shopkeeper wondered who this senior could be, as he had casually tossed a core of such value, seemingly treating it like garbage, just to purchase some clothes.

After a few moments, Fang Wei exited the shop casually. He was now wearing a black robe with silver linings around the edges. His black hair was tied back in a ponytail. The long robe easily concealed his mutilated foot, and he no longer felt any pain from it, as if it were no longer part of his body.

I wonder if it can be fixed... he thought. Without further delay, he quickly made his way into the building named Grand Medicinal Pagoda!

The interior of the first floor was beautiful. Everything gleamed with golden textures, and the hall was spacious. Wooden counters, adorned with extraordinarily fine beast furs, separated customers from the workers.

Fang Wei took a moment to appreciate the cleanliness before approaching the counter.

A young woman with long black hair stood behind the counter and greeted him respectfully, "Welcome to our shop! What would you like to purchase?"

He didn't answer immediately. Instead, he showed his injured foot and then asked, "What medicine can heal this?"

"Ah, a foot injury," she said, examining it closely. "The bone is fractured, but there are no external wounds. It's not a severe injury, so a Low-tier Bone Mending Pill will suffice. It will cost 3 Low-tier Rank 1 demonic cores or an equivalent-tier pill."

So they do have a cure...

Not bothering with others, he took out three demonic cores from his robe and placed them on the counter. "Will this satisfy?"

As he wasn't familiar with the cultivation resources in this world, and since the original Fang Wei had no basic knowledge of them, he couldn't distinguish the demonic cores. Additionally, being a mortal, he couldn't sense the demonic energy inside the cores to gauge their value.

The young woman, or rather young lady, examined the demonic cores for a moment and nodded slightly. "These are more than enough, dear customer. Is there anything else you need?" she asked with a bright smile.

He pondered for a moment, then took out additional demonic cores and replied, "Also, bring some Low-tier healing pills."

"Understood!" she responded cheerfully.

After a short wait, Fang Wei exited the Pagoda once he had obtained everything he needed.

It's good that I collected these cores... Hmm, only about 20 left... he contemplated.

The only remaining task was to find a place to stay and quickly heal his injuries. Fang Wei wandered around the town and soon found an inn that suited his preferences. It had no upper floors, and its design resembled his own house in Ellinor.

He entered the wooden inn, which was supported by bamboo. The establishment was named Little Inn.

"Welcome to our inn, dear guest! How many days will you stay?" As soon as he entered, a cheerful voice greeted him. Turning toward the source, he saw a young girl with her hair tied in two buns, smiling brightly. She was seated gracefully on the wooden floor, her head slightly bowed.

"Two nights," he replied, slightly unsettled by her exuberant demeanor.

"That will be 1 Mid-tier Rank 1 demonic core, dear guest," the girl responded promptly. "Food and alcohol will also be provided in the morning and evening!"

I only need a place to stay though...

"No need," Fang Wei said, pulling a demonic core from his robe and tossing it next to the young girl. "Is this sufficient, or do you need more?"

The young girl examined the core and raised an eyebrow. It was actually a High-tier core of a Rank 1 demonic beast, which made her wonder if there had been a mistake. However, upon meeting his cold, emotionless gaze, she hesitated and chose not to ask.

"Uncle Mu, please escort our guest to his room," she said. At her request, an old man appeared from behind her, bowed respectfully, and then led Fang Wei to his accommodations.

"That's quite a frightening person... Even I couldn't discern his cultivation level," the young girl murmured to herself before dismissing the thought from her mind.

On the other hand, Fang Wei moved to his new quarters at a deliberate pace, as the building proved to be quite expansive. It was surprisingly large, capable of accommodating hundreds of guests at once.

After a short while, the old man stopped next to an elegant bamboo house, bowed, and then departed.

Fang Wei found the accommodation satisfactory and quickly entered to tend to his wounds.
