However, before anyone could react to their Senior's words, a sharp voice cut through the air.
"Move, and you die."
The voice was both ethereal and soul-wrenching. For the Su sisters, it was a glimmer of hope, while for the demonic cultivators, it represented sheer horror and dominance.
Since they were from the Blood Demon Sect, they could tell that whoever this person was—with cultivation at the Late stage of Qi Refining—was nearly comparable to their Supreme Elder in sheer Bloodlust alone. The suffocating and bone-clutching fear they experienced was clear evidence of this.
Su Yan and Su Qingyi observed how, upon hearing the unfamiliar and distant voice, all the demonic cultivators were paralyzed with terror. They stood rooted to their positions, their faces showing clear signs of hopelessness.
Even so, the Su sisters didn't let their guard down and remained prepared to activate their Palace's secret technique at a moment's notice.
After a few moments, an individual clad in a pristine black robe with silver dragon embroidery arrived at the scene, almost like a ghost. He had a strikingly robust physique and stood over six feet tall. However, his most noticeable feature was his Immortal-like countenance. His mere presence radiated confidence and authority, something that everyone present had only seen in the most powerful experts of major sects.
First, he glanced at the injured twin sisters in the center but found nothing noteworthy. His gaze then shifted to a specific cultivator with whom he had business. As Fang Wei's intense pressure bore down on the cultivator in the Middle stage of Qi Refining, it felt as though a mountain had been dropped on him, as evidenced by how hard he clenched his teeth.
"Fascinating..." Fang Wei said, his voice cold and intrigued.
From what he could see, all these demonic cultivators, especially the strongest among them, had very rich Blood Qi within them. For some reason, he felt a strong urge to kill them and cultivate their very essence immediately. However, he managed to suppress this sudden desire without difficulty.
Cao Di, an Inner disciple of the Blood Demon Sect, shuddered as he couldn't even lift his head before the unknown powerful cultivator.
However, he forced himself to utter a few words, resulting in Qi deviation and causing him internal injury. "B-Blood Demon Sect... Inner disciple... Cao Di... greets... senior!"
The other crimson-robed individuals had already collapsed to the ground, struggling to breathe and control their Qi.
In the next instant, the intense pressure abruptly lifted, allowing them to calm their raging Qi.
The same relief was experienced by the Su sisters.
"Blood Demon Sect, and an Inner disciple, I see," Fang Wei said with a nod of interest. "Tell me your sect's location, and I might let you go."
Cao Di's face darkened, and he remained silent.
The one thing the Demon Sect would never tolerate was betrayal. Cao Di, a disciple for decades, knew the sect had methods to uncover traitors, though he was unsure of the specifics.
"I don't have all day."
The same cold voice reached Cao Di's ears, accompanied by the shrieks of his juniors. Glancing around, he noticed that one of his junior brothers had vanished, leaving only a pool of blood where he once stood.
Confronted with such a sight, Cao Di was overwhelmed with fear and found it difficult to breathe. The disparity in their strengths was too great; he knew he couldn't possibly dare to fight back.
Under Fang Wei's cold gaze, Cao Di ultimately chose to betray his Sect. "The loca—"
Before he could finish, one of his juniors interjected, "It's in the No—Ahhhhh!!!!"
Yet before he could complete his sentence, his eyes began to bleed, and all his Qi surged out of control, wreaking havoc within his body. Within moments, he collapsed dead.
Cao Di's gaze widened as he saw the corpse of his junior, who had been one of the few who showed no desire to indulge in the Frozen Palace's beauties.
"T-this... how could this be..." he murmured in shock.
The realization that their Sect had such a ruthless method for dealing with traitors tightened Cao Di's nerves.
However, what he feared most was the person standing in front of him. Cao Di hoped that, since he couldn't intentionally reveal the sect's location after witnessing what happened, the senior might drop the issue and let him go. As there was no personal feud between them, he thought that by showing respect and remaining humble, he might have a chance to survive if an expert from his faction arrived. "Senior, how about I personally lead you to the sect's location? That way—"
Thud.
Gush.
The Su sisters watched from a distance, observing how a single person at the Late-stage of Qi Refining had dominated so many demonic cultivators, all from the powerful Blood Demon Sect.
However, before they could fully grasp the situation, Cao Di's head was already gone.
"H-how?" Su Yan muttered, clearly baffled.
Su Qingyi shuddered, gulping hard in terror. "Who is this person, sister? He's so fierce. He doesn't seem to be from any prestigious sect. Could he be an independent cultivator?"
"Perhaps," Su Yan replied, popping a Qi Returning Pill into her mouth. "Just stay humble and don't speak until I say so."
Su Qingyi nodded almost instantly.
Yet what happened next was beyond the imagination of both sisters.
All the demonic cultivators, who were crawling on the ground under intense pressure, were suddenly cut down to shreds. There was no sound or flashy moves; each one of them was reduced to mere chunks of flesh.
"Bunch of weaklings, be grateful you're helping to increase my lifespan..." Fang Wei scoffed, his disdain evident. In both his previous world and this one, the rule was the same: the strong devour the weak. In the cultivation world, pity and hesitation lead to death. He showed no mercy in killing them, driven by his crave to cultivate their rich Blood Qi.
Fang Wei glanced at the terrified sisters, who immediately bowed their heads in submission. "I saved your lives; now you owe me," he said casually.
Su Yan and Su Qingyi, both surprised and seized by fear at his words, quickly nodded in response and remained rooted to the snowy ground.
With that, Fang Wei settled onto the blood-soaked, now crimson ground, licked his lips, and began to cultivate the Evil Mantra.
