Davina found herself unable to fall asleep and eventually emerged from her room later than usual the next morning. Despite the late hour, she felt no rush to start her day. The house was enveloped in its usual quiet, and Davina anticipated that Caspian would have already left for the day. However, as she descended the staircase, she was surprised to find him settled by the crackling fireplace, leisurely sipping his customary morning cup of wine. As she observed him, a curious thought crossed her mind: "I wonder how he manages not to get drunk."
"You stayed." Caspian pointed out. He was already aware that she didn't leave the house last night but him saying it felt like some sort of confirmation.
"I stayed." She walked up to where he was sitting and took her seat opposite him.
"Aren't you eating?" Caspian nudged his head toward the table filled with a variety of breakfast menus.
