Hana's mind raced as she explored the palace, searching for an escape route. She had to get out before Thane's true intentions were revealed. Every door she opened led to more questions, more dead ends. But she refused to give up.
Finally, after what felt like hours of searching, Hana saw a glimmer of hope. A small window, high above the ground, was slightly ajar. She could fit through it. With a surge of determination, she sprinted towards the window and began to climb.
Freedom was within reach. Hana pushed herself up, her muscles aching, and squeezed through the narrow opening. She found herself on a narrow ledge, overlooking a dark and foreboding forest.
As she began to make her way along the ledge, Hana heard Thane's roar of anger echoing through the palace. He had discovered her escape. Panic set in, but she didn't look back. She kept moving, her heart pounding in her chest.
The ledge grew narrower, and Hana's footing became more precarious. She stumbled, her hands grasping for anything to hold onto. But it was too late. She fell, her body plummeting towards the ground.
Time seemed to slow as Hana awaited her fate. But instead of hitting the ground, she felt a jolt as Thane caught her, his arms wrapping around her like a vice.
"You think you can escape me?" Thane snarled, his breath hot against her ear. "I'll never let you go."
Hana struggled, but Thane's grip was unyielding. He dragged her back into the palace, his anger palpable.
As they reached the grand hallway, Thane tossed Hana onto the cold, hard floor. She landed with a thud, the wind knocked out of her.
"You'll pay for trying to escape," Thane hissed, his eyes blazing with fury. Hana knew she had to think fast. She couldn't let Thane break her spirit. She glared up at him, defiance burning within her.
"I'll never give up," she spat, her voice trembling with rage. Thane laughed, the sound sending shivers down her spine. "We'll see about that," he said, his eyes glinting with malice.
And with that, Thane began to taunt her, his words dripping with cruelty. Hana knew she had to stay strong, but Thane's words cut deep.
As the night wore on, Hana's resolve began to crumble. She was trapped, and Thane seemed to take pleasure in her suffering.
But Hana refused to give in. She knew she had to keep fighting, no matter the cost. She steeled herself for what lay ahead, her heart burning with determination.
