"I have observed the current level of mana flow in your veins. Before we begin your magic spell training, there's something crucial I need to teach you that will be extremely useful in precarious situations."
Hikari commented at the start of the lesson. His caution was unusual, prompting Kazuki to listen attentively.
"You remember that the Arashiyama Family was the recipient of the Spirit Magic and Spirit Summoning Scriptures, right?"
Kazuki nodded, Hikari was the one who had revealed this confidential information to him.
"Well, they aren't the only ones who know the summoning incantations and spells. I was once contracted to the Spirit Queen of Light when I was a Hero."
It was something that was well known throughout the Kingdoms,
The Spirit Rulers of Nature always helped the Individuals chosen as that Period's Hero to defeat the Demon King,
Only the strongest of Individuals could hope to have a chance against the Demon King due to his resistance to Magic and Physical Attacks, he also possesses mind domination powers that are very hard to deal with,
By forming contracts with Spirit Rulers, it becomes easy to overcome his mind manipulation techniques as they provide protection against mental attacks.
"I'll demonstrate both summoning and contracting spells, but first, you need to understand the basics."
Hikari used earth magic to conjure two earthen chairs and gestured for Kazuki to sit.
"Do you know what spirit magic is?" Hikari asked, already anticipating the answer.
Kazuki shook his head, indicating his limited knowledge on the topic. Hikari continued, elaborating;
"Well in easier terms, Spirit Magic is the ability to summon spirits and enlist their aid in various tasks, ranging from combat to support. This form of magic allows the caster to minimize mana consumption by drawing upon ambient mana sources in the environment.
Additionally, spirits can assist in controlling and stabilizing spellcasting, making complex or high-level spells more manageable. Casters of spirit magic benefit from the spirits' protective abilities, which include shielding the individual from illusions and mind manipulation powers.
Through their connection with the spiritual realm, casters of spirit magic can harness this power to amplify their own abilities, making them versatile and efficient in both offensive and defensive situations."
Kazuki was genuinely impressed, making contracts with Spirits seemed to be extremely beneficial.
"As you know, making contracts with the Spirit Rulers is not easy, but you don't need to form contracts with them specifically, the Spirits are classified into 4 Levels of Hierarchy as I was told by the Spirit Queen, those are,
The Low Level Spirits, referred as Chloros
The Intermediate Level Spirits, referred as Aetherias
The High Level Spirits, referred as Astrafylix
And Finally The Spirit Rulers of the Spirit Realm.
If you can form contracts with either Intermediate or High Level Spirits, It can be incredibly advantageous, especially when facing multiple enemies and you have to manage mana efficiently while casting multiple spells simultaneously."
It was easier said than done though, Hikari silently thought, just because It is easier to form contract with them doesn't mean you can form contract with them anytime, they are extremely prideful and prudent creatures, they won't form contract unless you are strong and will prove useful for them in the future.
(AN: The bond strengthens as both the caster and the spirit grow stronger through the Mana Contract.)
"Basically, You need to demonstrate not only your strength but also your commitment to continuous growth. If a Spirit supports you and sign a Mana Contract with you, they expect you to uphold that promise, as the stronger you become, the stronger they will grow in connection with you."
There were a lot of benefits to It, and all you had to do in return was be diligent in your training.
But there was one problem which he can't share with anyone, It was not yet the time to disclose it to Hikari.
"I first want to master basic magic before attempting to form contracts with spirits. Besides, It's not like it is necessary to form contracts to enlist their aid."
Kazuki spoke, almost as an excuse.
Hikari, sensing Kazuki's reluctance to disclose more, decided to move on to the next lesson without pressing further.
