Taire frowned as he looked around the beach. It was much more crowded than he expected, especially since not many people know about this hidden paradise. Taire turned around to face Maiko with a sheepish look on his face. "I'm so sorry Maiko, I didn't know that there would be so many people here." Maiko sighed and stared at Taire with an unreadable look on his face. "It's not your fault Taire so don't apologise." He whispered hoarsely. Taire let out a relieved sigh and smiled at Maiko. "C'mon, let's go home." He said as he started to walk back up the path. But before he could go any further Maiko grabbed his shoulder and stopped him. "No, let's stay. I know you like the beach and I'll be in the water for most of the time, so people won't notice all...this." He croaked out, pointing to the scar on his face. Taire broke out into a massive. "Really? You'll stay?" Taire couldn't believe his eyes as Maiko nodded his confirmation. Taire grabbed Maiko's hand and dragged him over to the emptiest spot he could find, smiling like a madman. He threw the towels on the ground and sat down, patting the spot next to him.
Maiko put down the esky and sat next to the shorter man. "Your so excited, like a little child." Maiko said hoarsely, with a hint of amusement. Taire laughed and softly punched Maiko's shoulder in a playful way. "Shut up! I am not!" Maiko let out a broken laugh and smiled at Taire's antics. Taire was a little bit surprised when Maiko smiled. Maiko doesn't show much emotion and when he does it's only for a split second. "I forgot how pretty your smile is. You should smile more; you'd get all the ladies." Taire said with a teasing smirk. Maiko rolled his eyes and elbowed Taire softly. "Shut up shortie." Taire gasped in fake offence. "Shortie? I'll have you know I am at least 6ft tall." Maiko let out another rough laugh. "6ft? In your dreams. Your only 5'10." Both men continue like this for a while before calming down, their laughter slowly dying away.
Taire pulled some sunscreen out of the bag and squirted some of it onto his hand before passing the bottle to Maiko. The taller man shook his head at Taire. Taire frowned at Maiko as he started rubbing sunscreen onto his smooth legs. "Maiko, you'll get sunburn. Put some on." "I'm already burnt enough." He said sarcastically with a roll of his eyes. But he took the tube anyway and started rubbing some onto his own legs. Taire could feel Maiko's gaze on him, but he normally zoned out and stared at Taire, so that must be what he's doing now. "Mind rubbing some sunscreen on my back?" The shorter man asked the taller man with a smile. Maiko nodded and Taire shifted around so his back was facing him.
Maiko poured some sunscreen on Taire's back and started to rub his in, his large hands gliding over the smaller man's back. Maiko rubbed his thumb over one of the bumps in Taire's spine. "You need to eat more, your too skinny." Taire chuckled sheepishly and looked over his shoulder. "Don't worry Maiko. I promise to eat more food, okay?" The corner of Maiko's mouth twitched, almost becoming one of his rare smiles. He finished rubbing the sunscreen into Taire's back and reluctantly took his hands off Taire's back and gently ruffled his hair. "All done shorty." Taire laughed and leapt to his feet. "Great! Now let's swim!"
