Unlike the house of Arzul which was completely unified. The house of Oceanus was diverse with different clans. The ruling clan was the Nereid clan, the clan of the current king. While the most ancient and sacred clan, the clan that produced the most powerful devil gods of the water element was the mermaid clan. The mermaid clan was known as the guardian clan of the House of Oceanus. The rest of the houses population was comprised lesser clans.
The current royal family was extremely special. The king was of course a Nereid, while the queen was one of the talent of the previous mermaid generation. Their hybrid daughters were tens of times better than their peers in terms of appearance and talent. The king had several sons with his concubines. Of one these, his crown prince had been chosen. His name was Dolar he had two hundred his previous birthday.
Fearing the growing influence of the stronger mermaid clan within his court due to the vastly superior qualifications of his daughters, the king dreaded that they could possibly be supported by the mermaid clan to reign as queens. If that happened the subsequent rulers would all have the mermaid clan's bloodline!? As such he used his vast wealth and connections to search for an extremely rare creature, a human.
He had been searching for an extremely long time and had found no success, after all on this cursed world with no laws, how could such a valuable creature not already been have hunted to extinction.
His son had been alerted to the existence of human slave within the house of Arzul and by one of the nobles.
A genuine human! And what's more the person that discovered him had not yet alreted the house of Arzul and was actually willing to trade his flesh and blood for the mere price of a thousand Celestial moon pearls.
After his second son failed to procure him he decided to simply abduct him.
He passed the human through a channel within the house of Arzul to avoid detection and had him slaughtered in the lands north to the house of Arzul, in order to be able to pin the crime on the house of Arzul in the future. For even among devil gods, the sacrifice of another being where it had to be devoured and assimilated by another was a heretical act. However fearing for the stability of his house the king did exactly that.
After ontaining the humans flesh, blood and organ, he gave them all to his crown prince for him to consume. After the event the crown prince's talent had eclipsed all in the known records. In this past month he had caught up with the crown princess in terms of strength and was expected to surpass her.
Unfortunately for him the mermaid clan had perceived an abnormality, its head, brother to the queen had caught wind of the scheme through his spies in the Nereid clan and had set off to question and pressure the king. Alas he had almost made it when he crossed fates with the harbinger of chaos.
At least this was how much Canaan had gathered during this past month. Despite being able to level the entire House of Oceanus, such an action held no appeal to him.
He winced slightly as he remembered Lasyr's splattered remains, an image he would see whenever he closed his eyes.
No he would bury them in an eternal purgatory.
His now purple eyes fixed themselves onto the Nereid palace as they glowed with hate.
His visit today coincided with a great event. Today the crown princess's wedding day. She would be wed to the second prince of the house of Baylor. The house of a race known as the toxin immortals. This was another reason that the head of the mermaid clan had wished to chastise the king. Toxin immortals were extremely cruel, even to kin. No one knew of the fate that awaited the princess.
To do this to his own daughter to simply secure his bloodline was….
Anyway Nan simply chuckled slightly as his body fragmented into a million particles of crimson light.

In the event hall of the House of Oceanus.
The hall itself was extremely large. Its floor was comprised of marble stones that constantly shifted hues to blue and purple. The walls of the hall were akin to a dark cave. However several glowing crystals lined its surface. Whiles the sea green roof hosted several luminescent pearls that lent the entire hall a divine air.
Hundreds of guests populated the lavish tables heavily dressed in their finest robes. The tables themselves were filled with intoxicating meals and fragrant wine. The ceremony had not started to long ago, and yet the halls were filled with boisterous laughter.
One of the especially well dressed quests in respectfully trudged towards the two figures seated on the soft couch comprised almost entirely of woven cotton corals, glistening in florescent water.
Whatever beauty the corals had though, was greatly suppressed by the charm of its two occupants. The male was donned in a voluminous see green robe. A strange shimmering cloud or green danced around air.
It was easy enough to discern that this cloud allowed him to bear the pressure of the deep ocean and supplied him with oxygen required to speak.
Despite that though he had not said a word. He coldly stared into space as if emotions were a foreign concept to him Deep arrogance sat in the space between his eyebrows, and his beady eyes danced with a cruel toxic light.
Still though the elegance of his face was clear for all to see. Amidst the danger he exuded a great beauty refused to depart from him. He was Nrohyu, the second prince of the toxin immortals. By his side sat an elegant woman.
The fluorescent waves dancing through the deep currents halted as it approached her. Not in fear, but extremely deep shame. Her flawless fair skin quite literally glowed with a seductive sheen. The contours of her face merged in a fascinatingly beautiful fashion, seemingly sculpted by the perfect hands of heaven.
Many in the guest seats felt their breath constrict deep inside their chest at the mere sight of her. Her glistening sea blue hair sprang forth in a dazzling manner. Floating grandly in the waters behind her. Deep blue pools of glorious light swirled within her eyes. Measuring the surrounding scenery in apathy.
Her expression was even more emotionless than the cold blooded male seated behind her. As if she was perfect sculpture without soul. And indeed she was perfect. Her large and shapely breast narrowed into a thin and willowy waist.
Down her waist her form took the shape of a mermaid's tail. Even covered in scales the deep protrusion of her bottom was evident. One could only imagine how charming she would look is she could somehow manifest a pair of legs.
How sad it was that she seemed to be a sculpture without any emotion. Without the slightest inkling of the feelings of the mortal world. She was the 1st princess of the House of Oceanus. Xara of the frozen soul.
Both of them looked on passively as the unnamed hurriedly scampered towards them.
"I am deeply disgusted with myself for my tardiness. I hope the broad mind of the immortal prince and the coral princess will allow you to overlook this insignificant ones errors on your blessed day." He stated in an extremely humble voice.
He stopped at the feet of the great couch the moment he finished his rant. A deep blue radius flashed across his wrist and a set of pure white tendons appeared in his arms.
With his head bowed he waited patiently until the Nrohyu nodded.
"This is a precious set of perfect tendons of the jade emperor sea python, an excellent treasure with great use in weapon forgery. This is from the entire clan of Naga. I sincerely hope the blessed couple are able to find great use in it." After saying that he left the tendons at the foot of the couch and found himself a seat.
Not once through the entire exchange had her expression changed in the slightest, betraying her innermost feelings, rather she had worn a frigid mask the entire time as if she was a spectator of someone else's wedding rather than her own.
At this time, a gilded fork clashed against with a delicate crystal grail with a sonorous glance.
All heads turned to the eastern hall, the origin of the sound.
There a man rose from his throne, with a goblet in hand. He was dressed in purple robes that glowed subtly. His features were somewhat handsome. He possessed deep purple eyes and purple- black heir. However his average frame was a bit too rotund. The royal markings on his robes marked as royalty. He was the 58th lord of the house of Oceanus, Pontus.
Besides him was a fairy of a beauty that should not have existed in this mortal plane. Her daughter clearly inherited her celestial features from her. Only, the queen herself possessed an alluring mature charm she could not match. On her rested one of the largest pairs of breast Canaan had ever seen. And the shape of her bottom was perhaps even more exaggerated and enchanting. Her sultry curves stole the gazes of almost all the men in the vicinity as they cast envious glances at the king. Of all the women he met perhaps only Raya of the blood fiends could hold a candle to her in terms of 'womanly assets'. Her name was Karissa, queen of the Nereids.
Besides here Pontus rose His lips curled into a proud smile as he spoke. "This day is when a father is at his happiest. When he has found a worthy suitor to protect his little treasure for the rest of her life. And I am certain I now know more than any father the thrills of that joy."
Still invisible, Canaan continued to observe the ceremony. His lips curled slightly when he noticed the disdainful glance Corissa mocked her husband with.
Pontus waved for the ceremony to continue and took his seat. Streams of music suddenly filled the air and the hall become more active.
Nrohyu feigned friendly face as he amiably greeted his guest. It had to be said, his noble appearance was quite befitting his status. His slim fitting deep green robe perfectly highlighted his elegant bearing. He gave people a very outstanding feeling.
A bright radiance flashed around Xara and suddenly she was wearing a white coral wedding dress. She reacted to this change indifferently, not showing a single expression on her face.
A curtain of pure white light materialized in front of them, from it an ancient Nereid with a hair and beard whitened with age appeared.
The curtain expanded towards them. As it touched both Nrohyu and Xara they both rose to their feet. The light transformed everything around them into a beautiful altar. The old Nereid beckoned to them and they both took their positions at his side, facing each other.
The Nereid began to recite the opening statements of the wedding. Pontus listened with a pleased expression.
"Lord Nrohyu, are you willing to take Lady Xara as your wife, in glory and shame, in trials and in peace, to be with her for an eternity?" The Nereid calmly looked at the two of them as he slowly finished reading. With his experience and wisdom, how could he not see that they were unwilling to get married? However his only business was to follow his lord's wishes and conduct the wedding.
"I do." Lord Nrohyu replied with a bland smile.
"Lady Xara, are you willing to take as your husband, Lord Nrohyu in glory and shame, in trials and in peace, to be with him for an eternity?"
"I do." The voice was very icy and emotionless.
"Is there anyone here who has an objection to their union?" The Nereid looked at the crowd of guest in the hall.
"I object!" I powerful voice announced.
Within the hall the overbearing figure of a man appeared. Around him, a guard consisting entirely of gold class mermen stood proudly with their dark tridents extended.
No one failed to recognize the man with his deep blue hair and eyes, as well as the powerful martial aura around him. He was the current head of the mermaid clan, Lord Pletus.
"Lord Pletus! It's actually Lord Pletus?"
"Is he here to cause trouble?"
"I heard he was dissatisfied with the wedding arrangement."
The guest continually murmured in three part apprehension and two parts excitement.
"Brother in law. I am happy to see you. I was afraid you would be unable to attend this grand occasion. This pleases me very much." Pontus suddenly rose and greeted Pletus with an amiable smile as if they were the best of friends. Thoroughly ignoring the fact that he had appeared while objecting to the marriage.
'Afraid you would not be able to attend.' Canaan sneered inwardly as he registered Pontus's words, the minds of cowards like him were very simple. What he feared most was the arrival of his outstanding brother in law who would surely overturn the ceremony to rescue his niece. This was why he had used the name of the toxin immortals as a shield, knowing that even Pletus would not rashly offend them.
Unfortunately he had provoked someone far, far worse than Pletus.
"Pontus you sly worm. I always knew you to be a despicable coward. But for the sake of my older sister I tried my best to pretend to respect you despite your being such a vile creature. And now you have gone as far as willingly to send your daughter into hell. I have truly underestimated your putrid existence." 'Pletus' accused as he pointed a trembling finger at Pontus.
All manner of guest were shocked. Of course most of them were able to guess Pontus's intention for orchestrating this wedding. However no one dared to give voice to their thoughts.
