Among, the devil gods and creatures of this world, one's strength could only fall into but five classifications.
Mortal Class: The beings classed as mortals were the absolute weakest with little or no divine abilities.
Demigod class: Creatures of godly power below the realm of divine, but who were far stronger than mortals.
The realms of divine power stood above these, each devil god of these realms could with a snap of their finger, level a city.
Bronze class: This was the lower limit of divine power. It was divided into five circles of power with the absolute peak of this realm being a 5th circle bronze class devil god.
The gap between the circles was an insurmountable difference in strength that cruelly separated the strong and weak.
Most devil gods of these lands inhabited the second circle of the bronze rank, while if a youth was able to achieve power beyond the third circle before he aged past twenty he was treated as a talented devil god.
Silver class: Like the bronze class it was also separated by five circles, howver it took a hundred time the effort to advance across the circles.
The chasm between the silver and bronze class was an impossible divide that trapped several devil gods throughout their lives.
Any silver class devil god inhabiting any circle was an asset to the clan and was given a respectable position as a lord or elder of some sort.
GOLD CLASS!!: The absolute peak of the devil gods of this world. From the beginning of time to the present day no devil god of these lands had achieved the the fifth circle of this grand rank.
Lord Kaldur Arzul, the king of the blood wraiths as well as the strongest devil god within the house stood only at the third circle of the gold class.
These classifications did not apply to the strength of their physical abilities, but the crushing divine and devilish power held by gods and devil gods.
And one grew and intensified this divine power by cultivating the primordial energy left in the world after it came into being, wisps of fading but exremely potent primal energies left after the creation of the world, and to this energy, devil gods and true gods held the greatest affinity.
However even amongst them the successful obsorbtion and cultivation of this energy required bone crushing effort, which was why devil gods with extremly high affinity towards this primal energy were valued throughout the realms.
For affinity to primal energy was not a quality that could be raised, but depended solely ony one's talent and bloodline.
And this was the reason why the great wrath assembly was established: to weed the talentless waste with no affinity as well as to identify those talents worthy of the clans attention and nourishment.
"Let the first battle begin!" Torzik roared.
After he had finished listening the to torziks roar, A middle aged crimson hared blood wraith a noble bearing and the ambience of a lordas furtively inclined his head and said, "Corvus, go up there."
He was Jarus, one of the Twelve devil Lords of the Blood wraiths, the Void taming devil lord.
A first circle gold class devil lord, while the youth he had just spoken to was his son Corvus, a second circle silver class devil god.
A talented genius with very few peers.
"Ah?" The young blood wraith was caught off guard but he nodded his head and replied, "Yes!"
After speaking, he jumped up in one crisp movement and his figure transformed into a crimson blur, he landed on the stage, his hand gripping a long crystal blood sword which had a crimson light coiled around it. This was the silver rank blood ruler sword that his father had bequeathed to him when he was seven years old.
"Brother Ursal, please instruct me!" He said as he tightly gripped the blood ruler and his gaze focused on his opponent who had already taken the stage.
His foe was Ursal, the most loved son of the Ardent devil lord, the blood wraith second only to Kaldur in both power and authority.
Among the young generation of blood wraiths he was a nearly unmatched.
He stared at corvus with a mocking sneer as he kept his arms folded neatly behind his back.
He too was also at the second circle of the silver rank
Corvus did not react to his sneer, rather his expression was grave as he blocked out all the chaos and noise from his ears, and sharpened his focus.
At the same time Talia, who had been silent up to this point turned her gaze to Canaan as her emotionless voice spoke in his mind.
"I want you to witness....how devil gods fight!!"
Her reminder was completely uneeded, as Canaan's beautiful eyes were fixed completely to the stage below, however even no clue from his expression could betray any of his thoughts.
He immediately let out a low roar and took the opportunity to draw first blood.
He stabbed his blade into the earth and a strange ghoulish change covered in a blood red flame flew out from his crystalline blade.
Unfortunately his opponent Ursaal responded only with a sneer as he stretched out his bare hand to grab the flaming blood chain.
Torzik immediately turned pale with fright as he roared loudly: "Let go!! Do you not want your hand anymore!!"
The terrifyingly high temperature and essence devouring strength that the flaming blood chain carried was simply unimaginable.
It was fundamentally impossible to break through head on using only brute force; to directly touch it with the body, was really no different than seeking death.
Howver Ursal turned a deaf ear as his left palm firmly grabbed onto the flaming blood chain.
His devilsh energy ignited under his will as he channeled the infernal art of the blood wraiths: the heavenly sin devouring art!!
The impossibly vast power of a second circle silver class devil god channeled through the Sin devouring art, all surged up in that instant…
There were no flames exploding, no scene of Urasal's hands being instantly scorched black by the flaming blood chain … The scenery, suddenly became static at this moment.
The flaming blood chain suddenly started to painfully twist, then it suddenly crumbled entirely into nothing.
It was unknown when everyone in Godfall Blood Palace had stood up.
Every single person was utterly silent as if the sound of this world had already been completely sucked out.
The flaming blood chain was an intermediate power from the Sin devouring art few could use, and Corvus's execution of it had been nearly perfect.
Even a third circle silver rank would not have been able to defend against it unscathed, however someone of the same power level as Corvus had actually...grabbed and snuffed it out with his bare hands.
"Impossible just what sort of monster is he!?" Jarus exclaimed with dilating eyes.
With a "plop" sound, Corvus knelt on the ground. His face was as pale as a sheet and his two eyes were widened to an extreme degree, he looked as though his soul had left his body from the sheer shock he was going through.
Ursal on the other hand stared at Corvus's despairing expression with an ecstatic expression.
This was the reason why he fought, he possesed a sadistic hunger for his opponents despair and derived a joy that came from crushing their soul.
With a proud laugh Ursal said. "In regards to the density and purity of devilsh energy you are no doubt my better, unfortunately my grasp of the principles of the Sin devouring art far exceeds yours. You.....have.....lost!
Get off the stage!"
He then coldly smiled. Stretching out both arms, a deathly blood coloured flame unfurled from his palms and rushed towards Corvus in a cruel explosion.
Whoosh!!
BANG!!
The force brought about by the power of the surging blood flame exploded outwards.
In his current state, Corvus no longer had any power or will to resist. With a bang, he tumbled few times from the impact, and then sprawled on the ground like a corpse.
In a few moments he had so easily defeated an opponent of the same level by crushing his faith.
This was the terror of Ursal Arzul, a blood wraith who had at the tender age of fifteen broken into the first circle of the silver rank, boasting the highest comprehension of the Sin devouring art seen among the young generation.
Even against the twenty three year old Corvus, he had faced no difficulty.
"Well done, my son!" A proud voice gravitated from the seats of the Ardent devil clan.
A tall broad seated figure slowly praised. He was dressed all in black and his skin was as dusky as a corpse, however he still had the characteristic scarlet hair and eyes of the blood wraiths.
With a cold, Intimidating demeanor almost as terrifying as lord Kaldur's, he was the Ardent devil lord.
The foremost of the Twelve devil gods whose devilsh power had reached the absolute peak of the gold rank.
He was also the proud father of Ursal and Runan, two of the most talented blood wraiths of this era.
Sitting on the throne, lord Kaldurs interested gaze settled on Ursal for a mere moment before turning way.
"Such a good boy," Besides Lord Kaldur, Lady Raya said in a melting, loving voice.
On the Godfall Blood staged, Ursal stared at all the Twelve blood wraith clans as he said in provocation.
"Who is next!?"
He in the center of the arena, staring directly at the rows of seats; every single word was filled with a deep arrogance.
The hall was now silent once again. The audience that was completely struck dumb by Ursal, whose ability went beyond the realms of common sense.
Corvus was carried back to the void taming clan seats by the his clan members and at this point, everyone from the his Family was staring at Ursal. However, these were not looks of anger, but looks of shock and disbelief.
"Who faces me next!" Ursal roared again with tone so saturated with insolence that it was nearly tangible.
Prompted by his words, a lone figure flew out of one of the Twelve blood wraith clans: The Blood Origin clan.
As he took his place on the arena the silent hall was immediately filled with chatter.
Tje challenger had already been prepared to set out for battle when he suddenly heard Ursal's taunting remarks. His brows jumped and his mouth faintly curved into a cruel smile.
He looked in Ursal's direction, after which, he bounded into the air to land in front of him. His face was full of smiles as … and yet his gaze was filled with an unconcealed cruelty.
"Lord Rhali.... it actually Lord Rhali."
"I never thought that Ursal would actually force Lord Rhali to personally come out. Ah, it really doesn't make me feel good. But at least this competition has finally come to an end."
"Ursal won an easy victory, but it seems like he hardly broke a sweat. Moreover, he hasn't even used his weapon yet… Do you think that he might have a possibility of beating Lord Rhali?"
"Are you joking?! Lord Rhali is the one who is ranked first among the Blood Demon Scions, a genuine third circle silver class devild god at the mere age of twenty five.
The infernal art that his clan cultivates is the one recognized to be inferior only to the royal familes"Asura chaos devour ", the 'Essence devouring art'.
A practitioner of this art who is at the 1st circle of the silver rank of has power equal to an ordinary second circle silver class devil god.
There was much discussion inside the hall. The unsightly looks on the faces of everyone in the void taming devil clan in the east wing seats were gradually alleviated when they saw Rhali enter the arena.
They were certain Rhali would avenge them.
"You have done pretty well. Honestly, this young lord actually severely underestimated your strength. A few years back I had thought that you were merely a little grasshopper who was beneath my notice. I really did not think that you would actually be able to make me feel a sense of crisis. You are somewhat adequate enough for privilege of making this me take you seriously."
Rhali had a bland smile on his face as he said that, but everyone could perceive an powerful clear killing intent from his eyes.
Ursal also smiled coldly, "Cut the rubbish and reveal your weapon!"
His demeanor was still prideful, however the condescending air around him was gone and his brows curved up.
"Heh." Rhali sneered.
Suddenly he stretched out his arms and then.....
Two illusory shadows suddenly appeared behind his body and following Rhali's low mutterings, as if he was chanting a spell, the devilish energy on his entire body surged, ans simultaneously tiny threads of blood erupted from all the spores of his body and dove into the two shadows.
The tow silhouettes quickly congealed, actually turning into an two images of a person which did not feel like an illusion at all.
They wore the same armour as Rhali, had the same build, and even their appearance and fierce gaze were completely the same.
They all spread out their arms and the vast robust aura of three third circle silver ranks exploded for all directions...
