Chapter 9 - ~ Nine ~

Keyra and Sabrina walked faster towards the crossing building. But they stopped after seeing a group of people in front of them. They hid in the dark while listening.

"Soon, I think." One of them said. "The city will fall soon. Only a few Elders are here. We've made the other Elders stay away from the city. I don't think they know there's an attack tonight."

"Right. We have to destroy this city as soon as possible before the other Elders find out and turn on us." Another said.

"The chosen one. That's our main target. Mayes has warned us to prioritize finding the chosen one."

"But where is she hiding? The crossing building? Should we wait there? I'm sure the chosen one will try to get out through that building."

"No. There's already some people who guarding there. More than enough. Let's just go around. Be careful of those damn bloodsuckers." One of them said with a deep voice.

"Right. They're so idiot. They can't even recognize Darken and Aeshu. They almost killed Boyld earlier. What an idiot." The tallest of them said.

"Let's go." The group of people started to leave. After they looked far away, Keyra and Sabrina came out of their hiding place.

"So... no wonder this city is quiet. It turns out they made the Elders leave so they could defeat the rest here." Sabrina was furious. "Key, we have to leave this city immediately and tell the other Elders who are still outside."

Keyra nodded in agreement. They walked again. They passed another Vampire.

"Dipercantian!."

Sabrina released a spell. The vampire was thrown far away before even reaching them. They walked and hid. They continued like that until there were only a few buildings left.

From a distance, several Darken were seen gathering in front of the crossing building. Keyra and Sabrina stopped and hid behind the wall in one of the shops near the building. Sabrina opened her bag and took a book. Sabrina flipped through the book.

"What are you looking for?" Keyra asked in a whisper. She saw Sabrina busy opening the book she was holding.

"A spell. I wrote down all the spells taught during the special training." Sabrina answered in a whisper too. Sabrina continued to flip through the book.

"Why don't we just get closer." Keyra whispered again.

"Do you see that white smoke?" Sabrina pointed to the white smoke line that circled the crossing building and several buildings around it. Keyra nodded. "If we get hit by it, the alarm will ring and we will be caught. Even if we teleport to that building we can still be detected."

Keyra understood now. But how could they get through it? How could they get into the building without being caught by the Darken and also without being hit by the white line. Keyra thought hard. There were about a dozen Darkens guarding the outside of the building while inside the building looked dark and there were no signs of anyone guarding it.

"Someone has to distract them." Keyra finally muttered. Sabrina paused for a moment and looked at Keyra.

"You're right. But who?" They both thought again.

"How about me? I'm the one they're looking for anyway." Keyra suggested.

"But Darius asked me to take you away." They fell silent again. "And everything we do will be in vain."

"How about the two of us together. We go in together and try to divert it together." Keyra suggested again.

"No way. We'll die before we get into the building." Sabrina refused. Sabrina knew because they were just two ordinary witches. One was still in training and the other was new to magic. They would definitely lose badly. They could die before they even got close to the building.

"There's no other way." Keyra looked desperate.

Keyra prepared to leave but suddenly someone grabbed her arm. Keyra and Sabrina were shocked. Anna was already standing behind them.

"Do you want to die?" she asked in a whisper while still holding Keyra's arm. "If you want to die like fools I'll let you go."

Keyra and Sabrina looked at each other. "There's no other way." They answered at the same time.

"There's always another way." Anna said. She took a deep breath and let go of Keyra's arm. Keyra and Sabrina stared at each other for a moment. Soon another person came. A man in his sixties wearing white trousers and an oversized brown sweater. He had a thick mustache and thin brown hair.

"My husband, Ordo Magnofold." Anna introduced him to Keyra and Sabrina. Keyra and Sabrina nodded as did Ordo.

"You guys get ready here, while my husband and I will distract them."

"No, it will be very dangerous." Keyra replied worriedly. She didn't want anyone to get hurt because of her. "I'll do it."

"Have you forgotten who I am? My husband and I are Elders. We won't be easily defeated. Besides, if you die then everything we do will be in vain. Therefore, stay alive. Sabrina, promise me you will bring Miss Keyra Callania out of here, alive and tell the Elders outside this city that we have been attacked." Anna advised. Sabrina nodded.

"Okay. You guys get ready. I will distract them to one place so that they only focus on that one place and when they are off guard you go in and lock the building. Sabrina, do you know the spell?" Sabrina nodded. "Good then. Get ready."

Anna held Ordo's hand and vice versa. They looked at each other with love and smiled softly. They knew, this could be the end of their journey. Anna took a deep breath. She looked at Keyra and Sabrina alternately then smiled. Keyra was stunned because this was the first time she saw Anna smile. Usually Anna was always cold and unfriendly.

Anna and Ordo stepped out of hiding.

Flashes were seen everywhere. They started fighting. Sabrina and Keyra watched from where they were hiding. Anna used all her abilities, but she was outnumbered. The Darken were much more numerous and there were only two of them. But they managed to make the Darken off guard. Seeing an opportunity, Sabrina pulled Keyra's hand and ran as fast as she could towards the door of the crossing building. When they were in front of the door, their steps stopped. They saw one of the black people bewitching Ordo. Ordo's body instantly froze then fell and did not move anymore. Anna screamed and ran towards Ordo's body. But the Darken showered her with spells. Anna fell and weakened but she still tried to crawl so she could touch her husband. She wanted to touch her husband one last time. The Darken who watched laughed with satisfaction. They laughed at Anna who could no longer do anything. Keyra felt angry and wanted to help, but Sabrina stopped her. Sabrina pulled Keyra's hand into the building and saw Anna again from inside the building. Anna lowered her head and read a spell that made all the Darken bounce. One of the black people immediately got up. He wiped the blood that came out of his lips then spat it to the side while walking towards Anna. He smiled thinly and looked at Anna with a disgusted look then cast a death spell on her. Anna's body froze, not moving anymore. The Darken laughed even harder. Bian closed his eyes. He was so angry and wanted to retaliate but he didn't want to die stupidly like Anna said.

"Can we help you?" said a voice from behind Keyra and Sabrina.

Keyra and Sabrina looked for the voice. The crossing building was very dark. There was no light at all. One of the people inside the building clapped his hands.

"Lumina."

The lights came back on. Inside the room there were already several Darken in front of Keyra and Sabrina. They were shocked. Their whole bodies were stiff and couldn't move because they were afraid.

"Wow, wow, look at this. We got a good catch." Said the person at the front. He was wearing all black and a long black coat. His shoulder-length black hair was tied in a ponytail. "Which one of you was chosen?"

"None." Said Sabrina timidly. Keyra took a step forward and let Sabrina behind her so that Sabrina could lock the door. Sabrina had to lock the door tightly so that the Darken outside couldn't get in.

"Can you lock it tightly?" whispered Keyra.

"I'll try."

Q

"No need to whisper. If you dare to come here, it means you are ready to die. Whether or not there is a chosen one." The man in dark blue replied. The man tossed his long white hair back.

"No one can get out of here alive. Like them." The man pointed to the pile of corpses in the corner of the room. Keyra was shocked and covered her mouth with her hand. The pile of corpses was quite large.

Sabrina pressed her body against the door and recited a spell softly.

"închideţi uşa care nu ar trebui să fie deschis

Întoarceţi uşa într-o piatră veşnică"

The doorknob turned into hard stone and was difficult to open. The Darkens outside had realized Keyra and Sabrina's arrival. They tried to enter, but Sabrina had locked the door.

"Good way, but still you can't fight us. We are not ordinary witches, we are Greates of Darken, Well.. you could say the same as Elder of Aeshu. Besides, you are outnumbered." The man at the front replied, greeted by the laughter of his other followers.

"We'll see." Keyra replied.

"Dipercantian!!"

Keyra cast a spell and hit the man at the front. But the man only stepped back a little. The man was immediately able to ward it off. The man retaliated by casting a spell on Keyra. Sabrina also helped. Keyra, who still didn't know many magic spells, had a bit of trouble dealing with it. But Sabrina was there to help Keyra. They tried to walk towards the elevator. But they kept getting blocked by the Greates.

Sabrina was hit by one of the spells and thrown. Before Keyra could help, she was also attacked. But Keyra didn't stay still. She withstood all the attacks with all her might as Mr. Vattin taught her. But it wasn't easy, because there were too many Greates. She was completely outnumbered and outmatched. Finally she was thrown too. One of the Darken cast a deadly spell on them. The spell made Keyra and Sabrina's bodies float in the air and then immediately their bodies felt sore as if being squeezed very hard making it difficult for Keyra and Sabrina to breathe. Keyra tried to free herself from the spell but couldn't, her body was difficult to move. Keyra couldn't do anything anymore. Her tears fell. She couldn't meet her family, until the end of her life. She thought this was the end of everything.

Suddenly Keyra and Sabrina's bodies slammed roughly on the floor. Keyra who was still conscious tried to move her body but her body was stiff, couldn't be moved. Even though Keyra tried with all her might to move it, she still couldn't. Greates started to come to her and Sabrina. They prepared to cast another deadly spell. Kerya could only lie limply on the floor. Her eyes were closed and she began to feel nothing.

Keyra suddenly regained consciousness and opened her eyes. Her eyeballs which were originally black turned light brown and her body moved on their own. Keyra freed herself from the curse. Keyra shook her hand, all the Darken were thrown away. Sabrina was also released from the curse. She looked weak and helpless and just lay on the floor. Keyra watched Sabrina. She saw that Sabrina was still moving a little.

'She's still alive. I have to hurry.'

Keyra turned to the witch who was thrown earlier. The witches showered Keyra with spells, but this time Keyra was able to ward them off perfectly. The Darken were confused to see Keyra suddenly become so great at magic.

"You... you are the chosen one." One of them said.

Keyra smiled. "Good guess." she said. "If you want to live, stop here and I will forgive you. But if you still want to kill me and the child, I will be forced to kill you."

"You think we're scared? Let's start then."

Keyra made a white circle around Sabrina's body and cast a spell on it. After she finished, Keyra stood right in front of the circle.

"K-Keyy-ra…" Sabrina called weakly. Keyra turned her head.

"Stay inside the circle no matter what and you'll be safe." Keyra's message to Sabrina. Sabrina couldn't do anything anymore. Her body was too weak. "Shall we?"

The Darkens showered Keyra with spells again, this time with curse spells. Keyra was able to ward them off.

"Dipercantian!!" said one of the Darkens.

Keyra, who was busy holding back the spell, was caught off guard by the spell and her body was thrown quite far. But Keyra immediately stood back up and swung her hand. Keyra didn't need to recite a spell, all she did was swing her hand and everyone would be thrown far away. Keyra looked towards the entrance that Sabrina had locked earlier. The greates outside were trying to get in and open the door. Keyra began to panic. If the witches outside came in, she would definitely be overwhelmed. Even though she was the chosen one, if she lost in numbers, it would still be difficult to win.

"VERMANDIO!!!"

She shouted while slapping her right palm on the ground. From her hand came a white light mixed with a faint rainbow and shaped like a circle. The light made the witches fly far away as if hit by a strong wind. Making the witches' bodies collide with each other and fall scattered. Not only the witches inside the building, those outside the building also scattered. But the light made people know where the chosen ones were. Because the light mixed with a faint rainbow was a characteristic of the chosen ones.
