Gunshots rang in the streets. The most dorminant ones coming from the hundreds of machine guns. It was no longer a secret that they were attacking them as the first enemy had already fired his machine gun alerting everyone.
To say that they were winning was long fetched. Marx had already depleted his bullets. That was 200 down by his bullets but there were now in numbers of twenties to thirties coming after them.
Marx shot the last bullet from his pistol and leapt sideways as bullets rained at where he had been standing. He did not have the luxury as more bullets rained at where he had just landed and he rolled forward.
He was completely disadvantaged as all he could do was dodge. Dan was different though. He was charging relentlessly and his bullets were perfect. But there was a problem.
He spent almost all his bullets aiming at the other bullets fired at him and he got no chance to counter. At the moment, there were already fifty surrounding them. It was even better phrased saying that there were more coming.
Dan was becoming like a machine such that it was already difficult to tell his exact location. Luckily for him he did not waste time dodging. For the bullets that he somehow managed to aim, unluckily, they hit another bullet.
It was like they were at stalemate. Marx realized that it was now time to act and move on to the next stage. Under the schocked gazes of everyone, he disappeared in a blur.
They were not shocked by this as they expected the enemy at the backfoot to flee for his life. They all focused on the reamaining person and rained bullets of him. Dan instead was relieved the kid decided to go for phase two.
It was still too early for him to go for his next phase. As for the kid, he was sure that he had more trump cards than him. For those expecting for h6om to get overwhelmed, he instantly got an advantage as bullets found their way and dropped the incoming masked ones.
But the number was now already past 100. They had the number advantage but in terms of strength, they ignored the most dangerous threat who was now standing above them watching them like The Angel of Death he was.
Marx had activated Back Thrust and he was now floating 50 meters above them. The gun appeared in his hands and he did the usual, he tuned it to 360 and aimed at the most crowded part with around the 30.
No one saw it coming. It was too late to even react as the bullet hit the ground and released a blue glow as cracks formed on the ground that got cased by the blue glow. The cracks expanded and the explosion rang.
The thirty were not as lucky to survive. Even the neighbours were not as lucky. That attack killed around 50 leaving more than 20 stranded. And this was all that Dan required. An opening.
The distracted opponents who dared to stop firing were the unlucky ones who fell victims of the headshots. Dan was not concerned with the ones who were down. Before they could recuperate, he should have killed all those who were left standing.
The ones standing all looked at the place the bomb landed and before they could regain their battle intent, they were already dropping in pairs. Those who managed to fire were inaccurate and their shots were ignored by Dan.
Marx was tuning his gun to 45⁰ but when he looked down, Dan had already taken the one standing. He was now having the finishing touches by killing those who were trying to wake up.
Marx sighed and got down. He stood next to Dan as they stared at their actions.
"I will go airbone while you stay on the ground. I will be right above you and help when need comes," Marx said and Dan agreed.
It was better having the aerial advantage. Marx could also be used as a trump card as the enemy would not have seen him and they would focus on Dan. Marx stomped his foot and leapt into the air as he activated Halo Steps.
He then activated night vision. He then scanned for heat signatures and he could see the line up of the approaching enemy. He then transmitted to Dan using the wrist watch.
"Twenty incoming to your right and will make contact in one minute. Forward comes around thirty and on the left are ten. Those on the rooftops I will deal with them. Around fifty of them," Marx informed Dan who just nodded.
The kid was relly useful. He had one minute to contact, that was enough for him to catch his breath. He checked the magazines and changed them. He leaned on a wall and counted to twenty then headed forward.
Marx was around 100 meters above the roof. Even the enemies were not going to expect him to be that high. It was just then the enemy approached his gun's reach. He aimed and started taking them one by one.
He had already taken down around twenty when those on the rooftops realized that their numbers were going down and still one more fell. They looked up but with the clouds covering the moons, it was impossible to see someone 100 meters above them at night.
They could only raise their guard but unluckily for them, Marx's bullets reached them a second or two after firing. It was like they were stranded in the desert. They had expected to have the aerial advantage but none of them knew where that advantage had disappeared to.
They were like prey open to the predators with no where to run to. The only option was to go down but that did not in the least reduce the number that died. Marx was like an eagle. Whatever his eyes fixated on, he could not miss his prey. Truly The Angel Of Death.
Dan was yet to make contact. Those on the roof were now scrambling for the ground. They joined the ones on the ground as they charged forward. They were yet to know that the cause of their death was above them with more 100 meters.
Dan saw the approaching enemies with those of the right being the closets. He raised his guns and shot the two in the front line. They then appeared in numbers of tens and they started firing. In an instant, Dan was surrounded with his only escape route being behind him.
Their biggest mistake here was staying in groups. Especially the one of thirty that was in front of him. Dan wanted to laugh at them but it was better for them to learn on their own in death.
Marx smiked as he saw the enemy approach Dan in groups. They were large groups perfect for super bullets. He had only three rounds left. He aimed at the first group and then the second and the third one.
The bullets hit the ground in quick succession and the enemy were all engulfed with the blue light they did not know what function it served but they realized what it did in their death as the three consecutive explosions rang.
It was impossible to tell his many were left unscathed and how many were left injured. But it was obvious to tell that the ones who died exceeded the survivors. Marx did not bother to act again as he took the gun for recharging.
He could at least be comfortable as Dan took down the survivors. Dan was now seeing the mission had become too light. With the kid's strategy, the mission was easy. It was now like a walk in the park as he easily killed the enemy with headshots.
Half a minute later, he was done and he started marching forwards.
"Well done kid. I see that we are a good team. Taking down the organization is going to be even easier," Dan said as he walked forward.
If the kid had not reported, it could only mean that the enemy was yet to approach. A minute later, Marx spoke. His words were like music.
"Barricade ahead. Around 50 are stationed in concession. They are lined up and there are around ten groups placed after every fifty meters from each other. That sounds more than fun to me. I see that you are going to have an easy time. Don't you think?" marx said.
" I think that I am disqualified for this line up. Its up to you," Dan said as he put his guns back.
" Then lets roll!" Marx said excitedly. His gun appeared and he tuned it to 360⁰. The first five groups were going to be unlucky.
Also, this was the last group that they were going to take down as they had already taken down 500 of them. To think that taking down the remaining 500 was going to be as easy as just Marx pulling the trigger. What a joke for them.
Marx would really like to meet this strategist. He would like the strategist to usually be the one to set up his enemies for him. Like that, taking down even a thousand on his own was going to be just a walk in the park.
Marx was above them and Dan was around twenty meters behind. His work was going to be making sure that there were no survivors. Giving finishing touches. Marx smiled as he aimed at the first group which had just noticed Dan and had started firing.
It seemed that the strategist had been bribed by Marx for he had told his men to not break the formation. Thus, they just waited for Dan who was approaching them firing bullets and bullets met bullets such that none got close to Dan.
As for Marx, he was aiming at the centre most part of the first group as he pulled his trigger. A very good strategist they had to begin with...
