Chapter 91 - Chapter 91. What Awaits

These surroundings were familiar to many. Especially the condition of the city. The dark walls and the trash can that were everywhere. The dirty roads. The painted walls...

It was already night time. Midnight actually. It was actually the first time one would notice the two moons hanging in the sky. The stars seemed very near and one felt like if they stretched their hands out enough, they would touch one.

There was a whooshing wind. The papers on the roads were pushed inches away from their original position. Above the buildings were various things that should have been ancient by now. For example the broken wheelbarrows.

That was not to mention the truck tyres. Just where did these things come from? There were other creatures such as crows on the roof. It was the perfect hour for evil to reign. It was at this time one could see masked people.

Their gender was impossible to tell. They were everywhere. The reason was simple. Today, four leaders were going to be making deals. It had been reported that Martinely and Miller had been assassinated.

It had been long since someone dared to make a move against them. No, many made the move. The problem was that none of them had managed to make an impact. Martinely and Miller were not that highly ranked but they were still important and worth protecting.

Today was usually a leader's meeting. Since the times of Dan, they had learnt a lesson. They usually never ignored such a feat. To be frank, this was a meeting between four of the leaders. This was to explain the high numbers of the guards.

It seemed that they were trying to be overly cautious. They had at least 2,000 men with them. This just showed how important this meeting was. Also, it showed the might of the Mafia organization.

If they could just pull off 2,000 men at a whim... This just showed just how much Marx and Dan were trying to risk. It was unheard of when two people took down 2,000 men. This was even an exaggeration.

Even the 200 men Marx had killed was supposed to be a testimony. They were now planning on taking down 2,000 men. This was not to mention that there were four elites of the mafia organization.

Even the Empire did not have the guts to come after the organization. This was mostly because of the high number of casualties. Also, they had little knowldge about this organization. Thus they did not dare to risk.

Also, they did not have the luxary to pull out 2,000 at a whim. It would require months of planning before they succeeded. While the Mafia organization just needed to make a call and they could even pull out 10,000 men in seconds.

These masked men were around 500 meters away from the meeting point. They were scouts. They were not in many numbers but they were at least 100 of them.

As one approached the meeting point, the number increased.

As one reached the meeting point, the number they had gone through was a staggering 1,000. At the compound was around 200 of them. They were all masked. At this point, there were two elites.

They were wearing a red mask and green mask. They were seated on a bench at the wall leaning on it. From their posture, they did not think anything was going to happen tonight.

Even if anything happened, they had faith that no one would even manage to get through the first 100 guards. It was just a waste of time for them to be here. But they could not ignore the orders from their leaders.

It was also their obligation to follow their leaders everywhere. It was just because of yesterday's scene that they had to keep guard from that far. The one with the green mask stretched and his back cracked as a smile formed on his lips that no one saw.

"I think that I will just have to take a nap. Its been so boring lately and our leaders are not sending us to do some killing. I wish that something happens today and I get a chance to taste some blood," the man with the green mask said.

" You are still as savage as alway, Green. I thought that green symbolizes gentleness. Instead you thirst for blood," the one with the red mask said.

"Come on Red, you know that it has been too calm lately. I even wish I was there yesterday and get to kick some ass. If something happens today, leave it to me. I think am the only one who has been deprived," the one referred to as green said.

" I doubt anything wil happen. As you said, its been to calm lately. The Empire has not been sending those youths for training. Its been long since I killed one," Red said.

" I think something is brewing. I just hope that it will come quick. I need my clothes dyed red," Green said and licked his lips.

The two let out a long sigh as their shoulders shrunk down. They really were deprived then.

"The moons are both out today. I suddenly have a feeling that today is going to be exciting," Red said his head facing the sky.

"I hope your premonition is correct. I do have a sudden heaviness in my chest. I do not know why I am anxious," Green said his head too facing the sky.

After them, one would pass through an entrance. It was three meters wide. The building itself was 4 storeyed. In the ground floor were two hundred men. The structure of this building was the same as the one Marx and Dan had taken down yester.

They all had machine guns. Nothing more, nothing less. The bullets were from a chain magazine. For these ones, they were wearing black suits rather than masks. The doors were locked and one each side of the wall was a person.

This just emphasized how important the leaders were. The same was for the first floor, second floor and the third floor. In the fourth floor was a warehouse.

This one was empty though. It seemed they were quick to evacuate whatever was in this room. In this room, there were 200 men. Each of them with a machine gun. There were also two more elites. One with blue mask and another with a white mask.

The four men around the table were different from Martinely and Miller. They had slim bodies and it was easy to see that they did took care of their bodies unlike the two. It was even possible for them to be more powerful than the elites.

It was impossible for one to be a leader if they were weak. This was to mean that these four were once wlites of the Mafia organization. They all had black suits and were descent.

They were not wearing any glasses and also they had not trimmed their hair. Instead, it was neatly kept. They did not have the briefcases because this was a meeting and not the transaction it was supposed to be. This was to mean that Dan had misinterpreted.

They laughed and did not throw offensive words to each other. It was easy to tell that the leaders got along and it was possible that they were friends from the beginning.

They were not as old as Martinely or Miller. They were around the same age as Dan. If Dan saw them, it was possible that he would recognize them. On the table were printed papers.

Everyone took one and scrolled through it and as they read, their frown just deepened. They all placed them back on the table and leaned back on the chairs.

"So it was Dan?" One of them asked. He was wearing glasses. He had black hair.

"It should be impossible for them to have survived our assault. I am sure we killed them both and even confirmed burning their bodies to make sure that their ghosts would not haunt us," one with black hair said.

The others had brown hair and red hair. The one with red hair appeared to be more stylish and into fashion. He spoke next.

"You are forgetting someone else," he said and all eyes landed on him. " Don't look at like you do not know who I am talking about. The source of all this."

" It is impossible. We killed him first," the one with black hair said.

"Was it us or was it our men who never came back?" The red haired guy asked and their frowns deepened.

"I thought that he could not fight. Could it be that he was faking it before his brothers?" The one with glasses asked.

"It is not easy for us to lose elites to just a no one. Maybe his brothers knew it. Are you forgetting just who The Dans were? Could they have just a nobody for an older brother?" The one with black hair asked.

" He was their teacher," they all said with a whisper. One could see their frowns deepen and their eyes become more focused.

" But why did he let them die?" The one with glasses asked.

***

'The reason I am doing this is because its my fault.' These were the thoughts of Dan. 'I will not let the kid die. I will pass my skills to him. I bet he will manage.'
