Marx chuckled because the system had disbelief. It had tried for a billion times in order to grant him access. But Marx did not know that this was the set trial numbers. In the billion tries, the genes had to match or else he would get showered with bullets.

Those who managaed to reach the last trial though no one had, if they failed, they would have gotten showered with bullets. This was because the system would recognize the fake genes and DNA structures.

Lickily none of them managed. Thus those who failed in the earlier steps would get ejected from the trial. Marx looked at the cube and walked to it crossing the distance between them.

Immediately he got into the cube's range, a wall appeared around them. The screen moved with him and was now floating on his right. Marx raised his hand and placed it on the cube. He did not know what to expect.

This was something that he could fit in his pocket. Or so he thought. When he placed his hand on the cube, he felt like he had placed his hand on the ground. Like he had placed his palm on an planet. It was like the cube ran to infinity. Thus he could fit inside it.

When his palm landed on the cube, he felt some energy flow into his body through the hand. When he looked at his hand, he saw what appeared like a rainbow of colours streaming into his hand. Marx smiled at the light. The only was to describe them was that they were beautiful. Maybe that was also an understatement...

The lights gave a comfortable warm feeling. The lights on the cubes seemed to dim as they all streamed into his hand. The colours would dissipate in his chest. The lights then appeared to glow on his feet right at the sole.

Marx felt the heat become different and suddenly he felt a burning heat build up. He at first ignored it. But when he looked at his feet, he saw the light surrounding them getting them charred black. What was happening? He watched as he saw his feet disintegrate into grey ash. Weren't these lights supposed to be gentle and beautiful?

It was not only that the heat that had become uncomfortable but the colours had eaten away his feet. He had not felt anything as he saw the legs disintegrate. He felt panic build up in his chest.

What if he had been brought here to be offered as a sacrifice. Tensed up, he tried to pull his hand out. Also he realized that he was not falling despite the fact the his feet were no more.

At the moment, the stream of colours was already at his calf eating away his legs. He could not even move his eyelids. It was like he was supposed to witness his disintegration. He tried to scream but even if he did, who would help him.

Also, how could he bring himself to scream when he was feeling no pain. He just watched in horror as the lights ate at his knee caps. Was this what it meant to be vulnerable? He wanted to pull his hands but his body was no longer his to command.

"What is happening?" He spoke but he got no reply. It was then that he realized that he had uttered inaudible words. Even if he had screamed, no one could have heard him. He had no one to turn to other than his system.

"What is happening," he communicated his thoughts towards the system as he had always done but he was met by silence. It then struck him him, the system was the first to be attacked by the stream of light.

It was then his eyes landed only to see that his thighs had completely been disintegrated. He did not even feel it even as his lower man was disintegrated without him feeling anything. He wanted to scream.

What man would not scream when they saw his manhood disappear before their eyes and yet they felt nothing. Marx screamed his mind but it was not projected outwards. Even if he wanted to, he could not bring tears to come from his eyes.

It seemed all he could do was witness and think, no feeling. What he did not even know was where the ash was going. It would disappear in the empty space. Now he wanted to know who he had wronged in his pas life so that he could experience all this.

He could not even pass out so that he could witness none of it. In the next one minute, Marx was nothing. Only his hand was left on the cube. But even it was integrating. What one could not miss was that the light too seemed to have faded from the cube.

By the time his fingers disintegrated, the light of the cube too diminished and they disappeared with the last piece of fingers left. The cube started whirling around. It started slow but as it built up some speed, the surroundings started shaking.

The floors cracked and the walks shook. The screen vanished so as to protect itself from the effects. All communication devices in the vicinity were all shut down. Even the Neuro Link Transmitter in the number 10 scientist did not survive.

She bled in all seven orifices. The electric powered guns of all the guards who had come to the basement all shut down. The light in the basement all turned into darkeness.

The cave started losing its power and it turned out that it was just a five meter corridor. All power in the room all went out. Jerry was left in the dark unsure what Marx had done. He just hoped that he was alive...

Inside the ten meter wall, the cube had gained a new momentum. It was spinning too fast such that it appeared that it would disappear by tearing through the space and time barrier. It was in that instant that the a portal opened.

The portal glowed in a blue light and appeared like a whirpool. Out of the portal came out a group of five. Their age was impossible to tell but gauging from their white hair and the gowns they were wearing was enough proof that they were old.

Old was not enough to describe them. These were men who could be said to have existed through time itself. These were men and women who could be said to have attained immortality.

Of the five, three were ladies and the rest were two men. The ladies appeared old but their skin appeared to have no wrinkles. Their skin seemed to be flawless and so did their white hair. Though somehow, one could tell that they were approaching the prime of their years and they could turn into wrinkled old ladies at any moment.

The men were different. They already had wrinkles. But that did not diminish their demeanor. These were old men who appeared to have existed even longer than time itself. The men had their hands clasped on their backs as they stood ahead of the ladies.

The ladies did not want to be left behind and stood infront of the men. This was their time. But none of them wanted to be the first to take action.

"Do you think that it was a success?" One lady asked. It was difficult to differentiate them all because they all appeared similar. With their eyes closed. But it was the lady in the middle who spoke.

"The *** could not have activated if the genetic assessment was not a match. We just hope that it was a success," the man on the right spoke.

One could wonder what it is that these old men did not want to speak about that they would stutter.

"We should have faith in him. The *** was created by him. Have any of his creatioms ever failed?" These words came from the other man.

A sigh came from all of them. It felt like it could cause rumbling in ones heart. They all seemed apprehensive but they could not manage to push their doubts away. If this whatever they were failing to say failed, it was unknown whether the world would remain the same.

The five fell into a deep silence that could cause one to feel uncomfortable. It had been hours since they had come but the cube had not stopped. It had instead been increasing its speed as though it could vanish at any time.

Sometimes, it would faze into and out of existence causing the hearts of the old guys to come to a standstill. It had at once faded for ten minutes and they had all felt weak on their knees.

Now it was hours since it vanished. These men were now planning on jumping into the portal and disappearing from existence as a whole. They just could not bare the consequences of the failure.

This was a project worth hundred thousand years and if it failed, even their lives would not be enough to pay for the debt. It was then their portal became unstable and the cube materialized.

It kept fazing into and out of existence rapidly but it then started appearing. In almost an hour later, it appeared to stop fazing. It took another three hours for the cube to reduce in its speed and finally it took one hour for it to stop.

The five had waited for twelve hours. They could not give up though. They had not moved a slight millimeter since they got into the formation. They also had not removed their thoughts from the cube only when they had thought of running away.

It was only when the cube stopped that they had moved.

"Do it," they all said affirmatively to the the man who had proposed to do it. The man sighed and opened his eyes. If one looked at his eyes, they would not miss the striking similarity they had with Marx's.

Though his were dancing with lightning inside them. He placed his hand on the cube and suddenly, what appeared like a small cube appeared. This cube appeared from his palm and got swallowed by the bigger cube.

He then removed his palm but who could have thought that the cube would be spit out? It fell on the cracked floor with its features deformed like it had been chewed.

"It failed..." The man on the left said with a trembling voice.

They all felt weak on their knees as they all fell on their knees...
