It was not that the number 10 had forgotten that Marx had one of their communication devices. It was just that she knew that they had the advantage of numbers. Thus, even as they plotted, they never considered that Marx had the ability to wipe them.
Marx had forgotten about the communication device when he got from the cube. It was only when he heard it speak inside the backpack that he pulled it out. He visualized their formation and he could not help but feel his job had been multiple times easier.
He was standing at the entrance with the gun on his hand the shoulder rest no longer on his chest. The power was tuned to 360⁰. For an easier job, it was better to disrupt their formation first.
The backpack was on wall with Jerry sitting next to where he placed it. Marx put on the helmet and got ready. He activated night vision for trajectory. He then placed his right hand on the wall causing it to open
A blue light engulfed him. He knew the orders so he knew had to be fast or all the bullets would rain on him. He pulled the trigger and immediately the blue light disappeared, the Super Bullet shot from nozzle.
He was not affected by the recoil like he had been in the past. Marx then took cover behind the wall. Bullets rained on the entrance as the attackers were unaware of the incoming bullet. Their laser bullets did no harm to the sturdy walls but this did not stop them from shooting until...
A loud explosion rang. No one saw it coming. Even those who had seen it thought of it as a normal bullet that could do no harm. The bullet landed 15 meters from Marx. It was ike everything came to a standstill as the bullet hit the ground.
The bullet dissipated in a blue light in the ground covering the whole ground with a blue glow light. The light appeared to come from cracks that were spreading throughout the room in a web-like manner. The ground shook as an explosion rang out from the cracks.
It appeared like not even the hard floor could withstand the pressure. The blue cracks seemed to expand rapidly and they all separated into rambles and shot outwards in every direction. A hole five meters deep and several meters wide was created by the explosion.
All the 50 guards five meters from the explosion did not survive. Some were blown away leaving nothing but blood spray. There some who were blown away with missing organs or with none. The room rumbled and the shards of metal and rocks from the floor shot in every directions.
The tables did not stand a chance as they too were blown away. Around 20 more died from the impact of the explosion maybe from from the metal shards or the tables. Those who survived had a ringing sound in their ears.
Of the 19 only ten could be said to be in perfect condition. That is, without a missing organ. Some had some blocks on them and others were trying to crawl from the rumbles. They stared in disbelief as they watched the room which was now nothing but shambles.
Their formations had been disrupted and there were bodies and meat piles littering the floor. It was not everyday they saw such a loss. The stench of blood wafted through the air and the room appeared to be dump. They had a hard time believing that it was done by someone they could only term as a kid.
Then under their astonished gazes, they even forgot that they were in a battle. They watched as someone clad in a black battle suit appeared. They watched as he pulled the trigger with every shot taking a life.
To those who saw him, he was nothing but an Angel of death. Once the gun locked on to you, your fate had been sealed. The last person who witnessed all this had his finger trembling as he tried to pull the trigger but he could not even aim properly and missed twice before a bullet blasted his head. Brains scattered around him.
The black suit was very familiar to them all and they accepted their death with open heart. If they died by the hands of an elite, they were content. Not many got to see them to begin with. Seeing one during your last minute felt like a dream come true.
Marx had taken care of the first squad and he knew that the second squad was going to be tougher. He flashed inside the room and stopped at the wall. If the ones on the stairs locked onto him, they would shoot at sight.
He stood at the wall next to the stairs as he calculated on how to deal with this group.
"Maintain formation. Shoot at sight." A feminine voice came from the communication device. The lady seemed to underestimate Marx.
She dared use the communication devices yet she knew that Marx could hear them. She was going to learn from her ignorance then. Marx calculated the stairs distance to be approximately one kilometer. With 100 guards in pairs, they were approximately ten steps away from each other.
Using super bullets was not going to work well and he was going to waste the power of the gun. But who could have thought that things could work in his favour. It seemed that they all had gotten tired of the number 10 command.
Was it not her command that killed 91 of them?
"Squad 2b all forward. Leave no opening," the general spoke ignoring the glares from the lady. He did not even glance at her as he stepped forward. "Unit 1a converge and standby." The general continued.
Marx heard the voice and knew that there was a change in plans but it just worked out in his favour. It was either the lady forgot he had a communication device or they still had not taken him seriously. The first option was very unlikely.
Marx did not know about the squads but he did not care. 'Take them as they come' was a policy he invented at the moment. He then decided to test something maybe his battles would be easier if it worked.
"Scan for thermal radiation," Marx said. He had learnt it back after he had gone through frequencies.
<...>
A screen appeared and on the screen appeared there were virtual human figures. There were twenty of them. They seemed to be ten steps away from the last step. It was then he realized that the pair that had been standing at the first step had not survived.
The group of twenty were descending in two line of ten each on the side of the wall. Marx thought of whether he should also wait for them or just charge at them but decided against the latter. Then Marx caught something interesting from the communication devices.
"Failed to scan for him using thermal glasses. Target is not in the vicinity. Charge forward. Maintain formation," he heard a voice coming from the communication device. He could not help but smile.
How could they not have such an ability? But what made him smile was his suit. He did not need to ask to know that it was hiding his thermal radiation inside it. This group was already dead in his eyes.
He climbed using Viscous Palms on his hands and the Halo Steps. He then stood above the entrance with Halo Steps glowing. His back on the wall. He could not help but smile. Here he thought he was going to have a hard time.
In few seconds, the group of twenty reached the last step. Those on the right went right of the wall and those on the left went to the left. They diverged in a V as they approached the entrance. They avoided the bodies and skipped the rumbles.
They paused at the hole for a second then the commander signalled them to get in formation. They then converged in groups of five people. Marx watched amused. No better tramp card than catching your opponent offguard. The element of surprise worked in ones favour during battles.
Marx did not even think of wasting the gun bullets on this group. He he pointed his fists forward and fired. Not wanting to waste bullets, he only activated the middle nozzles. He then fired at two guys at the back.
They were still in the process of lifting their legs when the stopped and dropped dead. All heads turned towards the two fallen. They realized they were heading in the wrong direction. But it was too late as Marx was relentless.
Even before the bullets had reached their target, he had already shot at another pair. By the time they realized they were supposed to turn back, he had already dropped eight of them.
Others were in the process of turning when they fell. The bodies kept dropping and as they took formation, only ten were alive. But they were still disadvantaged as the opponent had the higher ground.
As they pointed their guns at Marx and started to fire, four more dropped dead. This was too one sided. Marx fired the bullets as easily as he blinked and even faster. One could even blink ten times in a second.
This meant that in the two to three seconds they wasted, they lost twelve people. They fired but they were not accurate as they were tensed up. Seeing your neighbour drop without even flinching... That was enough to give them shaky hands and reduced they accuracy.
They were battle veterans and quickly adjusted but this did not stop another body from falling. Currently there were only four of them left. Marx after seeing their accuracy increase started running using Halo Steps making it hard for them to aim at him.
He then activated Back Thrust and he charged at incomprehensible speed. They did not even react when he stood infront of them and activated Flame Hurtle burning their faces. Even the glasses they were wearing were burnt and also their helmets.
Marx took advantage of their distarac6tion and fired four bullets in progression. They fell registering no pain. But they died knowing that it was an elite who killed them.
"Calling on squad 2b. What is the situation..."
