Chapter Five:
Mr. Roberts' words about my mother and senior brother being alive,brought a sharp surprise to my heart. I wanted to react to it,but he shut me down,and said I should hold on,until we get to the mansion.
One hour later,we arrived at my father's luxurious mansion,where all the servants both male and female, were already lined up waiting for me.
"Welcome back young master,"A female servant said.
"Good to see you back,young master"Joseph, my most trusted servant, said to me,with a smile on his face.
"Thank God,you are back. I'm happy to see you again,"Mrs.Janeth, the chief servant to my mother, said.
After greeting and shaking each and every one of them,I hurriedly entered the Mansion,and discovered that everything ranging from the decorations and home appliances,have been changed. I looked at Mr.Robert,and from the way he nodded his head at me,I knew that everywhere was renovated because of me.
Millions must have been spent to renovate the building's interior just because of me.
However,I was not still settled in my mind,since the thoughts of my mother and senior brother whom I thought were dead,were suddenly alive according to Mr.Robert.
"So tell me,what were you actually saying about my mother and senior brother?"I asked Mr.Robert as I sat on the sofa.
He quickly ran to me and covered my mouth. I was filled with shock.
"Don't you dare echoe it out again"He instructed and voiced silently. Then,he removed his hand that was used to cover my mouth.
"You are not supposed to let the walls know about this. It's a top secret in the country, and you must guide it with your life,until the right time"He advised.
At this point,I was speechless because confusion was striking me into pieces. I needed a tangible explanation on this matter, but Robert didn't wish to make it clear to me.
"Can you please explain things to me?"I asked.
"I know that you are confused,but you have to take my lead on this because many fishy things have been set against your family"He said.
"Things like what pls?"I asked.
"Be patient, and just try to keep all this information a secret, your life will become a history.
However,the major thing you need to do within a short space of time,is to take over your father's business empire,and bring the empire's enemies to justice".
"But since my elder brother is alive,he needs to take over, and not me".
A slap was immediately launched on my face the moment I responded back. Mr.Robert became angry at me right on the spot. I was surprised that a mere buttler laid his hand on me.
"You fool,how long shall you be called a fool?"He asked me.
I then remembered how this popular question has been asked to me by my late father,whenever I find it difficult to grasp an idea.
"I don't get you Mr.Robert".
"Your father has so many enemies and if you fail to conquer them,both you and your family will lose everything he has worked for".
"So?"I asked, wondering.
"You are your father's weapon,and last card to the future".
My eyes trembled in guilt, and at once,I understood what he meant.
Since I knew my father as one of the most successful businessmen in the country,he has been attracting both good and bad friends.
Many people and secret business dudes,have had their eyes on his business empires. He has on countless occasions escaped assassination and poisoning.
My entire family as well,has been living in insecurity and the feelings to die Young: and for this reason, we lived our lives in fear. No wonder my father, knowing fully well that he would die,orchestrated false incidents and news concerning the death of my mother and senior brother.
Now I understand the decisive games he played just to keep us alive.
I was then filled with boldness, and needed to reflect on certain issues.
One hour later,I ordered three executives of my late fathers business empire to appear with all necessary documents to the mansion,through Mr.Robert.
Meanwhile,I just needed to keep myself on a low pace,since I'm now aware that I would be having many enemies. Enemies who are unknown to me,but operating secretly.
We got to the bank,where the empire operates,and changed the signatories. Everything as regards to the empire's funds,were now in my custody.
Since it has been in the custody of three executives,there have been several records of mismanagement of funds and till today,not even the acting president and manager of the department could give an account of the missing funds.
I vowed to fish all thieves in the empire out within a short space of time. However,things have to be done step by step,to avoid accusing innocent persons.
Also,one last thing was required for me to do, before I finally started my campaigns of paying vengeance on those who needed to be dealt with.
I dressed casually,by wearing a short three quarter nica and a T-shirt. I went along with some security personnel to my Ex-wife's house,just to confirm whether Clara is my true blood child.
She laughed to stupor when she saw me, and was about to send us out of her house, when a police captain informed her that they had been warranted by the state's commissioner of police,to ensure a proper D.N.A. test on Clara.
*When shall you guys return her back to me?"She asked.
"As soon as we are done with the D.N.A. test"The captain informed.
"In Fact,I will like to go with you people"She demanded.
"No problem mam"She was permitted.
She looked into my eyes with anger and hatred and that same look,I understood what it meant. She was going to deal miserably with me.
