"I can't believe they've lost the files. In fact, I refuse to believe that files like that could just go missing!" Serena murmured as they walked out of the police station, empty-handed and frustrated. Aiden, on the other hand, remained silent, keeping his thoughts to himself. As a matter of fact, he too, found it hard to accept that such an important case file had not just been misplaced, but that there was no backup record of it anywhere. The coincidence was too striking.
There was a possibility that the files had been hidden. Possibly to hide something scandalous. Whether it was related to Serena or not, they couln't be sure. So, until they had more information, there was no point in creating a scene.
