The receptionist who received my card was confused as to why her colleague was silent upon seeing my exam result. She quickly snatched the card from the receptionist who had been serving me.
The second receptionist was equally surprised when she read the information displayed there.
[Tower Entrance Exam Results]
Name: Fajar Dharma Hartono
Difficulty: 10
Overall Score: S+
"Difficulty 10, and an overall grade of S+… Mr. Fajar Dharma Hartono, we welcome you with pleasure," she stammered, her voice shaking and fear evident in her eyes. She tried to avoid eye contact with me while hurriedly completing my registration.
The news of my test results sent shockwaves through the crowd. A difficulty rating of 10 with an overall grade of S+ meant I had managed to avoid any attacks from the monsters during the Entrance Exam.
Several people prepared to approach me, intending to invite me into their party. However, upon hearing my full name, they hesitated and spoke softly instead.
"He's the youngest son of the Hartono family, the Star, Fajar. They say he killed seven Hobgoblins in a single strike when he attempted to assess the B+ level Portal at Omega Enfield Academy."
"Not only that, but he was able to withstand an attack from a HobBerserk while wielding just a small shield."
"I thought those were just stories to enhance or maintain the family's reputation, but if he truly possesses such strength even when his titles aren't active, then what about now?"
As various groups began discussing the rumors surrounding me, I remembered what Grandpa had said: I wouldn't let those rumors affect me. Instead, I stayed focused on hunting some monsters today.
"So, may we ask, what do you want to do now?"
"Like I said earlier, I want to take a mission according to my test score."
The receptionist looked a bit confused. With a score this high, they could definitely offer me a high-level mission, but due to the rules, I was only allowed to accept a B+ rank mission.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Fajar. According to the rules, new applicants cannot take on missions higher than B rank. However, since you scored an S+ in a difficulty 10 test, we can offer you a B+ level mission. Would you like that?"
"Okay, give me the hardest mission available at the B+ rank."
The receptionist lowered her head and immediately began searching for a mission that matched my request.
...
I waited in front of the counter, enjoying lunch and the oolong tea prepared by the waiter.
"Will it take long?" I inquired.
Several receptionists apologized for the delay and asked me to wait a little longer.
"I understand. In the meantime, could you recommend a clothing store? I lost my suitcase containing my clothes due to an incident outside the tower."
"A clothing store, yes. The best one is the Hermlin Clothing Store. Just head to the city center or to the fountain in the middle of the city, and look north. You'll see a four-story building with a red roof; that's the Hermlin Clothing Store. For a more mid-range option, there's the Morlene Store, which is also in the north but has a yellow roof. Lastly, for cheaper clothing, you can visit The Lifter, located east of the city center, beneath a blue roof."
"What about lodging?"
"Don't you have a place to stay yet? This building provides lodging for some high-ranking individuals like you."
I declined the offer. "No, I can't stay in a crowded place. I'll need some time to contact my family, so I prefer to stay in an inn."
"If you're looking for an inn, all the inns in Beginner City offer their own unique qualities, and they're all located in the west. Just choose one according to your preference."
"Which one is the most expensive?"
Upon hearing my question, the receptionist adjusted her glasses. "If you're looking for a luxurious inn, then the Golden Star Inn is the answer. It's the only 6-star inn in this beginner city."
Thanking the receptionist for the information, I immediately left the association building. "I'll come back later; I want to buy some clothes and book an inn first."
The receptionist lowered her head as I exited.
As I was about to leave the Association Building, someone rushed in, startling everyone. The man was bleeding from his body.
"There's an undead in the city!" he shouted before collapsing unconscious.
Seeing the injured man, several magicians and healers from different groups rushed to treat him.
"He received a curse from the undead."
"My level is still too low to handle the curse."
I stepped closer to the man and cast my Anti-Curse magic.
I removed the curse and also healed his wounds using 5th-level holy magic.
The healers who witnessed a 15-year-old wielding 6th-level holy magic, along with 5th-level healing magic, felt a pang of inferiority. This demonstrated that their abilities were lacking compared to this young newcomer who had only just entered the tower.
.
After finishing healing the man's wounds, I headed to the clothing store that the receptionist had mentioned earlier.
***
On my way to the clothing store, I encountered the undead seven times, but they ignored me, continuing their search for people hiding elsewhere.
A few minutes later, I arrived at the luxury clothing store mentioned by the receptionist. However, two undead were blocking the entrance.
Without hesitation, I kicked the undead aside and told them to clear out, suggesting they wreak havoc in the Association Building to the south instead.
After dealing with the undead at the door, I approached the entrance to buy some clothes, but found the door locked from the inside, preventing me from entering.
*Knock, knock, knock.*
I knocked on the door, hoping to get one of the shop assistants to open it, but the assistant inside seemed too frightened to respond.
I continued knocking, signaling that I was not a danger to them, but them still cannot opened door.
