Chapter 20 - Pre-Case Exam

PoV Kelvin

The next day, after becoming a student in the sports program, I arrived at school with shocking news—news that came from someone who had entered the tower.

All the students were gathered in the meeting hall, and on each table, there was a PAD used to display the exam processes of the school's students. Naturally, it was Fajar's exam process that was featured, as he had taken the test in the tower just yesterday.

The recording was considered valuable by every student; some had already seen it through family connections. As for me, lacking such connections, I felt somewhat out of the loop regarding the state of this world.

"Okay, students. You must have heard the news from the internet yesterday. One of your classmates and a student of this academy managed to complete his Tower Entrance Exam with remarkable results. Now, we will conduct a Pre-Case Test for each layer of students in this academy after viewing the recording we received."

All the students turned on the PADs at their desks. At first, some students watched casually, but as the fight began, many became more engaged, replaying the footage to analyze what Fajar was doing while defeating his enemies.

The first two tests produced astounding results—one-sided fights that posed no challenge to Fajar at all. However, when the third test started, every student and teacher who had just watched the video realized something significant.

Fajar fought against the Ogre Titan without ever touching the ground, utilizing Air Leap to dodge the shockwaves generated by the Titan's every step. But the real question was: how could someone execute Air Leap more than twice? He managed to do it seven times before ultimately defeating the Ogre Titan, crushing its head with a simple martial arts technique—a Flying Axe Kick.

As all the students pondered what Fajar had accomplished, the teacher who was serving as the chairperson of the event began to speak.

"It seems you've all watched the video until the end. As you can see, this is an original recording showing your fellow academy member completing the Tower Entrance Exam at a difficulty level of 10. The Tower awarded him an S+ for his performance during the fight against the Ogre Titan."

"The case we're going to discuss here is how he used 'MANA' as a sword coating and utilized 'AURA' as magic fuel. All of you should understand what I mean by this—that's the first case.

The second part involves his fight with the Ogre Titan. Why did he discard his dual swords and switch to a knife? What was the reason he chose to use 4th-level magic at the last moment? And finally, how did Fajar manage to perform so many Air Leaps?

These are the questions for our Pre-Case Test. The Pre-Case Test will be held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday this week. I hope you can find the answers in the three sessions before the Star returns to the academy."

In this Pre-Case Test, the task of uncovering these mysteries was not solely the responsibility of the students; the teachers also participated in solving the same case. They were particularly fascinated by Fajar's flawless use of Mana and Aura—knowledge that no one had even considered before. Historically, humans could only use one of these abilities at a time, but Fajar could utilize both, as he was the perfect vessel of the God of Destruction. It was only natural that he was different from the rest of us.

As for the Seven Air Leaps, this technique was theoretically discovered four years later by a world-acclaimed acrobat. He performed Air Leap to defeat the Demon Dragon Kairos with his sword and arrow. Although he couldn't match Fajar's Seven Heaven Stomps, he successfully executed seven Air Leaps.

"At the very least, I want to contribute my knowledge from the future, but I don't want to stand out too much. So, let's provide a little help to the brilliant students of this academy."

For the sake of humanity's progress, and to ensure that monsters can't act freely, I raised my hand to give my answer.

Seeing a student raise his hand so quickly, all the other students turned to look at me. However, upon noticing my ranking, many only thought of mocking me.

"Kelvin, please share what case you would like to discuss and your answer," the teacher prompted.

"I want to discuss the second case: why he replaced his dual swords with dual daggers, and the reason he resorted to using 4th-tier magic to attack the Ogre Titan."

"So, what's your answer?" the teacher asked.

"The reason he changed from dual swords to dual daggers was that he realized it would be impossible to overcome the hardness of the Titan Ogre's skin. If we look at the moments before he switched from the dual swords to the daggers, we all witnessed a significant explosion. If you pay close attention to the ten seconds before he approached the Titan, you'll notice he wrote something on the two swords he discarded.

If we speculate on what he wrote and its meaning, we can infer that he already had the dual daggers in his hands. While there's no clear explanation for why the swords exploded upon striking the Titan Ogre, I have a hypothesis that it may have something to do with talismans. This is just a simple example."

I wrote a sentence similar to the one involving talismans on a wooden ruler, then I threw the ruler forward. When it reached a certain distance, the ruler suddenly froze in mid-air.

The students were stunned; they couldn't believe what they were witnessing. A student without any foundational knowledge of talismans was able to perform simple talisman magic.

"If you notice, I didn't use 'Mana' to create that talisman; instead, I utilized my thin Aura to enhance it, even though it was only half-finished. On it, I wrote, 'When the distance is 100 meters, freeze and explode.' While I can only freeze it, you might wonder how to transform Aura that is usually hot into cold ice. The answer is simple but challenging: you must be able to perfectly control the temperature of your Aura to achieve the desired results.

You can also adjust the Aura's pressure so that it explodes once it is lowered enough to freeze. As for why he used 4th-level magic, like the Fire Spear, it was for momentum. As you all witnessed before, he didn't just fall; he aimed to destroy the head of the Titan Ogre, But he accumulated the pressure he generated during the Air Leap. For those who can perform a second Air Leap, you know that there is a buildup of pressure in your calves and thighs. With each jump, that pressure increases; after two jumps, it would create an equivalent weight of 15 kg on his calves and thighs.

Now, imagine that weight doubling with every subsequent jump. Just think of the pressure his legs must have endured upon landing. Additionally, he employed Weight Magic as he descended. Consider the immense force the Ogre Titan's head had to withstand when his feet struck it!"
