Han Jun stood before a massive door, dressed in a long red robe adorned with the academy's symbol on his chest. The words "Third Square, Class A, Fire and Ice Cultivators Class" were engraved on the door in a bold and captivating font. As he finished reading the inscription, the door swung open as if it had been anticipating his arrival.
He stepped inside the classroom, which was spacious and inviting. On either side, rows of seats were filled with students. The left side was occupied by students in red robes, like his own, while the right side housed those donned in blue robes with the school's emblem similarly displayed. The distinction between fire element cultivators and ice element cultivators was clear. A wide passage ran down the center, and at the front stood a well-prepared table and chair designated for the teacher. Above this seat hung a pristine whiteboard. Although unadorned, the classroom possessed its own charm. "Not bad," Han Jun remarked as he took a step forward, but suddenly, a burning sword blocked his path. He stepped back in alarm, frowning as he turned to the sword's owner.
A young man with brown hair, dressed in a red robe, stood in a peculiar stance, his eyes fixed on Han Jun, as if he had encountered an old enemy.
Before Han Jun could question him, the man abruptly lunged forward, launching his sword at him without warning.
Miraculously, instead of injuring Han Jun or tearing his robes, the sword suddenly lost its aggression. It appeared to struggle against the man's grip, then fell to the ground as if it had escaped. As it landed, the flames extinguished.
Both the man and Han Jun stood in utter shock. The entire class rose, staring at Han Jun with bewildered expressions.
"What just happened?" Han Jun wondered to himself.
"Wow!" the man in front of Han Jun shouted, jolting everyone back to reality. "You are a genius, brother! You didn't even move an inch, yet you disarmed my sword. I, Zi Chen, willingly grant you the position of captain of the fire cultivators in class A!" he announced with a wide smile, the earlier intensity in his gaze now replaced by a beaming grin.
Han Jun remained at a loss. "Can someone explain what just happened?" he thought.
"Goodness, we now have another powerful fire element cultivator!" one of the fire element students commented.
"You're right NaNa, not only is he powerful, but he's also handsome… let's see how these icy fellows will remain arrogant now," another student replied.
Han Jun clearly heard the students' conversation and glanced at the ice cultivators, who wore expressions of horror. "Sigh, will I even complete the task that this book gave me while keeping my body intact and my health intact?" he thought, observing their killer glares.
"Big brother, you haven't introduced yourself yet. What's your name, brother?" Zi Chen asked Han Jun.
Han Jun looked at Zi Chen, and his deep voice resonated. "Han Jun."
Murmurs began to circulate among the fire element cultivators as he spoken his name.
"His name really suits him."
"His Han family must be one of those low-key families; I haven't heard of them before."
"You're right! Just look at how handsome he is; it's a shame the school forbids relationships; otherwise, I would have proposed to him immediately."
"Such handsomeness! I have never seen a boy as handsome as him in this world; goodness, I'm about to faint!"
Comment after comment and praises from the girls made Han Jun swell with pride, and he even teased a lady with just a glance.
"Captain Han, let me lead you to the captain's seat," Zi Chen said happily.
Han Jun examined Zi Chen's sincere expression and asked, "Why did you give me the title of captain? From the way things look, you are the captain."
Zi Chen smiled back. "Captain Han, in this class, only the powerful rule. It's a custom that when a new student arrives, the captain must exchange points with them. If the newcomer wins, the captain must relinquish their position, but if the newcomer fails, the captain continues ruling until they find their challenger. But you, you defeated me in the blink of an eye; you are the new captain whether I announce it or not."
"I see," Han Jun replied, suddenly widening his eyes. "Does the captain exchange points with a new female student as well?"
"Erm... no, we don't do that. We only have male captains in our fire branch, and the male captain never fights with any female student. Female students can enter the class directly without exchanging any points with anyone," Zi Chen replied, and Han Jun breathed a sigh of relief. "Only the ice students do that; they have both a male captain and a female captain. The male captain fights the new male students, while the female captain fights the new female students," he added.
"Oh," Han Jun commented. "It's fine then," he said.
"This way, Captain Han," Zi Chen said to Han Jun, leading him to a specially prepared chair located at the front.
Han Jun studied the table and chair carefully and confirmed that they were to his satisfaction; he nodded and was about to say more when the door was opened once again, drawing everyone's attention to the entrance.
At the entrance stood a lady in a blue silk dress. Starting from her shoes, which were white and designed expensively, her blue dress flowed gracefully in the breeze. Her enchanting blue hair was styled in two pigtails, cascading down each side of her shoulders and reaching her thighs in length. Her fringe covered her forehead to avoid too much exposure. Her eyelids were tinted in sparkling blue, and there was no way she could blink without revealing its presence. Her irises were blue as well, making her pupils appear transparent and captivating, adding more grace to her appearance. A snowy pendant rested on her delicate neck, and her charming ears were adorned with dangling blue earrings. From her nose down to her chin, she wore a blue veil, making it difficult to identify her true appearance.
Everyone's attention was fixed on the lady. Even though her face was hidden, it was easy to guess that a peerless beauty lay beneath the veil. Han Jun's eyes widened in surprise, and he felt curious about what the lady might look like.
"Lady Captain, isn't this a big coincidence? Look, we have a new student as well, if she's as powerful as that young Man then we can still continue oppressing them" someone among the ice element cultivators murmured to the lady in blue beside her.
The blue-clothed lady nodded and approached the veiled lady with a smile. "Welcome to our class. Before you are officially permitted here, you have to show everyone your battle level," the lady said.
The veiled lady chuckled, her low laughter melodious to the ear yet chilling to the heart. She looked at the lady in front of her and replied, "Bring it on." Her voice flowed like spring water, as if it were the very essence of relaxation, soothing every soul in the classroom.
Han Jun watched the veiled lady with great interest. "Shu Fang, it seems like you are not the only beauty afraid of the public," he murmured with a smile on his face.
"I am Wu Dong. What is your name?" the lady captain asked.
"My name... is... Yue Bing," the veiled lady replied.
Upon hearing the lady's name, Han Jun frowned slightly but then relaxed his brows. "Interesting," he said with a cunning smile.
"I won't be polite then, Yue Bing," Wu Dong commented, sending ice arrows hurtling toward Yue Bing immediately.
Yue Bing's eyes flashed blue as she watched the arrows approach. Just as they were mere meters away, she suddenly disappeared, and the ice arrows struck the iron door.
Wu Dong was shocked and looked around in terror. Even the entire class was dumbfounded, including Han Jun.
"Chilling... cold... temperature dropping to 0 degrees... freeze all obstacles," Yue Bing's magnetic voice echoed in the air, stunning everyone.
Suddenly, the whole class felt the temperature plummet, and everyone could sense the coldness. Wu Dong, the intended target, was caught in a miserable state; every cell in her body felt frozen, her teeth chattered, and her face turned pale as blood drained from it.
"I... I... I admit defeat... I admit defeat," Wu Dong managed to say with great effort and strength, hugging her body in a bid to provide some warmth.
Right after Wu Dong admitted defeat, the class temperature returned to normal, and Wu Dong was freed from the coldness. She exhaled cold air as her cells began to thaw.
Yue Bing reappeared in her original spot and said nothing.
"I, Wu Dong, willingly relinquish the position of lady captain to Yue Bing," Wu Dong said as she bowed slightly.
Yue Bing nodded and made her way to the captain's seat without any help, sitting down readily.
"This lady isn't normal, just like our captain. What level of cultivation was she?" Zi Chen murmured to himself, then looked at Han Jun, who was now seated. "What stage are you at, captain?" he asked Han Jun, excitement evident on his face.
Han Jun raised his brows, ready to reply, when the entrance door opened again.
"Is it another beauty?" Han Jun thought to himself, glancing at the entrance with curiosity. Unfortunately, the person who entered was not a beauty, but a middle-aged woman in glasses. She wore a two-color robe, Red and Blue, and a badge was pinned perfectly on her chest, identifying her status as a teacher. Upon seeing the middle-aged woman, Han Jun immediately turned away.
"Why is it her again?" Zi Chen's frustrated murmur echoed as his cheerful expression turned sour.
