The next day, Han Jun woke up feeling more energetic than usual. In his embrace were two sleeping beauties who seemed to have no worries in the world. A smile appeared on his face just by looking at the two of them.
He stared into the air, not wanting to disturb their peaceful slumber. However, things didn't go as he wished when there was a sudden knock on the door.
"Wei Wei, are you in? Open the door!" a panicked female voice called out.
The sleeping Ling Wei frowned, but didn't open her eyes; instead, she readjusted her head into a more comfortable position on Han Jun's chest.
Shu Fang, who was also sleeping comfortably, frowned lightly but didn't react.
"Wei Wei, is everything alright?" the anxious voice sounded again.
How can she be alright? I guess the man is in here, and he must have done something to her. Since he hasn't left, let us break down the door and capture that man to avenge our sister. Another female voice echoed.
Hearing the conversations loud and clear, Han Jun's brows knitted. "No one saw me enter here. How did I get noticed?" he thought to himself, and suddenly, glowing green eyes flashed in his mind. "Why am I thinking of those eyes at such a critical moment?" he thought in frustration. "Wait... I went to her room, and she saw me. Is it possible…?" His eyes widened in shock. "This is how it ends," he breathed out.
The voices outside grew louder, and Ling Wei couldn't take it anymore. She opened her green eyes, which flashed purple as a sign of her anger. She got up from the bed, dressed in her revealing beautiful dress, and marched to the door.
Shu Fang also woke up with knotted brows.
Han Jun frowned, contemplating what to do.
"You should leave first; don't interfere. She will handle it," Shu Fang said to Han Jun when she noticed him trying to find a solution.
Han Jun looked at Shu Fang and nodded. "She should be able to handle it. If she can't, then Shu Fang is here to help if necessary," he thought to himself. "Then I will take my leave first. See you later." Han Jun said, and without waiting for Shu Fang's reply, he disappeared, leaving nothing that belonged to him behind.
Shu Fang lightly shook her head and rubbed the back of her neck. "When did he become so energy-draining?" she murmured, dressing up. She glanced at the annoyed Ling Wei and offered her a smile before vanishing.
The door was about to be pushed open by the women outside when Ling Wei swung it open. "What do you want?" she questioned angrily.
The group of females was taken aback, but one woman stepped forward boldly. "Sister Wei Wei, the alarm bell rang this morning. That bell serves as protection for us females; once it rings, it means there's a male in or around a female student's corridor or room. Everyone heard the bell and came out, except you. So we thought you were being held captive by him," she explained.
Hearing this, Ling Wei calmed down a bit. "No one is here; you may leave," she said curtly.
"Yo, Sister Wei, is that a hickey on your neck?" one of the girls commented.
Saying this, all the ladies fixed their gaze on the red mark on Ling Wei's neck, giving her a strange look.
"Sister Wei, don't hide him; bring him out and we'll protect you!" the lady spoke again, sending Ling Wei a mocking smile.
"He Mei!" the woman who had explained the situation earlier called out, her voice filled with irritation as she sent a warning glare toward He Mei. "I'm sorry, Sister Wei, but she speaks the way she views things." She offered Ling Wei a conciliatory smile.
Ling Wei looked at the lady who had apologized, then shifted her gaze to He Mei. "I'm a seduction cultivator, and having a hickey on my body is a normal thing. Aren't you one? Or are you saying you've never had one? If you haven't, I'm afraid you're a fake. And… in case you don't understand, it appears only if you were disturbed during cultivation." She sent He Mei a meaningful look.
He Mei didn't dare to meet Ling Wei's gaze again, nor did she muster the courage to say anything more. She could only curse silently since Ling wei words were the matter of fact.
"Don't be angry, Wei Wei. It's clear now that you didn't come out just because you were cultivating. We're sorry to disturb your cultivation," the lady apologized sincerely.
"Not a big deal. If there's nothing more, I will leave first," Ling Wei replied and was about to go back into her room. But the lady quickly stopped the door from closing and used the opportunity to scan around the room. After confirming that there was no one inside, she gave Ling Wei a smile. "The Imperial Majesty is on his way to the academy. All the students in the academy have been asked to come out to welcome him. You should be prepared as well."
Ling Wei didn't reply. "Do you believe that dare to hit you with this door if you stay there for another second," she said emotionlessly.
The lady smiled awkwardly. "I... I won't disturb you then," she stammered, slightly frightened, and she stepped back immediately.
Ling Wei said no more and slammed the door closed, as if it were the one that had offended her.
"Sister Ying, why are you being nice to her?" He Mei pouted.
Tang Ying lightly shook her head but didn't reply.
"Sister Ying, did you think she is lying?" He Mei asked again.
"She isn't," Tang Ying replied. "Earlier, I scanned her room with my devil eyes. Everything was clean and tidy, with no trace of any man inside. There's also no scent of a man inside. So, the fact that she didn't come out despite the alarming bell ringing, and didn't open the door immediately after knocking, is truly because she's cultivating. The mark on her neck serves as evidence," she explained.
"Then why did the alarm bell ring too early? Could it be for something else?" someone among the girls asked.
"Perhaps it's for something else. Ling Wei is truly angered this time. We just interrupted her cultivation; maybe she wants to have a breakthrough, sigh, it's a excitement moment for a cultivatior to reach bottleneck but we just ruined it. It's a blessing that she didn't vent her anger on us. We are at fault this time; I will find a chance to apologize," Tang Ying said, sighing.
"There's no need to apologize, Sister Ying. After all, we just wanted to confirm her safety," He Mei scoffed.
Tang Ying shook her head lightly. "Let's go and confirm the reason behind the alarm bell first," she said and led them away.
Inside Ling Wei's room:
"Damn this unreasonable folks!" Ling Wei punched the wall and gritted her teeth in annoyance.
"Do you have to be mad over this matter?" Shu Fang's voice sounded in the air, and right after her words, she appeared in front of Ling Wei, dressed in a sparkling blue dress. Her face was covered with a blue veil that matched the color of her outfit. Her long golden hair was slightly damp, proving she had just finished bathing. Her lovely heels echoed against the floor as she took two steps forward. Blinking, her golden eyelids were visible. She was so beautiful that she could melt a stone heart. The veil hid the graceful smile on her lips, making it difficult to describe just how stunning she was while smiling.
Seeing Shu Fang, Ling Wei's anger somehow intensified. "That's right, I haven't settled the scores with you! Why on earth did you end up in my room last night?" she asked, folding her arms and sending a murderous glare.
Shu Fang smiled and made her way to Ling Wei's bed. She sat down, crossed her right leg over her left, rested her elbow on it, and supported her chin with her knuckles. She fixed her gaze on Ling Wei and flashed a smile. "I couldn't help it," she replied.
"You!" Ling Wei pointed at Shu Fang and then waved her hand dismissively. "how annoying
!". She murmured. "Why are you here?" she asked, trying her best to calm down.
"I was informed this morning that the king wants to visit the academy because of me. I couldn't understand, so I came here to seek more information about it since this is your world and you are very familiar with it," Shu Fang explained.
Ling Wei rolled her eyes and folded her arms again. "Who asked you to reveal that you are a Nature Cultivator? Fix the trouble yourself; why must I get involved?" she scoffed.
Shu Fang stared at Ling Wei for a moment before sighing. "Just enlighten me, that's all," she said.
Ling Wei hissed softly. "A Nature Cultivator is like a deity in Hermen world; even the king has to show special respect to them." She smiled. "Actually, you made the right choice by claiming to be a Nature Cultivator. With your newfound connection, things will be easier for my husband in this academy and in the future," she replied.
"I see how it is," Shu Fang nodded. "Should I reveal my relationship with Han Jun so that he would be respected by every student in the academy? Not only that, but we can also communicate freely," she said, smiling like a child.
Ling Wei gave Shu Fang another glance. "Shu Fang," she called.
"That's my name! And thanks for calling my name for the first time," Shu Fang replied, in a good mood.
"I thought you were a wise, respected noble golden goddess. How on earth did you reduce yourself to this?" Ling Wei asked, rubbing her forehead in frustration.
