Chapter 4 - Chapter Three

'I felt it,' Sith whispered to himself in that dreamy slithering whisper that only dragons had. Sith could feel the magic of the light, and he now knew where it came from.

'A girl,' he whispered, 'a tiny little girl, with so much power.'

Sith shifted its weight in the dark dingy cave where he had waited. He had sensed the power faintly before, but now he could feel it, and he wanted it.

With the magic, he could breathe fire again, maybe destroy what was left of the earth realm, then would go back to where dragons lived, where it was common place to have them roam the skies, the land of dragons…home.

'The light and fire, I want it, I want it from the tiny little girl, I want it for me,' he whispered to himself in a way only dragons could.

Max carried Amy on his shoulder, emerging from the last bend from the hillside he could site the little town from a distance, it was'nt too far away.

'Hold on Amy, you'll be okay I promise,' he approached the town, each step more painful than the previous. He played the encounter with the naschians in his head and the more he thought about it, the more he knew Amy had somehow saved both of them. The light was from her and the light had hurt the naschians and driven them away.

'Thankyou Amy, you saved both of our lives,' He kept on walking.

Amy was in a garden filled with flowers. Flowers of different colours and the sun shone with a resplendent radiance that made all the colours come to life.

'Where am I?' she asked herself, 'where's Max and how did I get here?' a white rabbit hopped out from the flowers and landing close to her feet. It moved closer to her and stood there staring at her as if waiting for her.

'Hello Mr Rabbit,' she bent and reached out to the rabbit, the rabbit hopped into her hands and sniffed it which tickled her; she burst into blissful laughter, 'Naughty Mr Rabbit.'

She sat in the middle of the grass and held the rabbit close to her, then she remembered she did not know where she was or where Max was.

'How I wish you could talk so you would tell me where I am,' she sighed.

'I can talk little miss,' the rabbit replied.

'Is this a dream? I've never seen or heard of a talking rabbit,' She held the rabbit up facing it directly.

'Maybe it's somewhere between a dream and reality,' the rabbit replies.

'And how do I get back to my world, I need to find my brother,' she places the rabbit on the grass and gets up.

'You will see your brother soon, as soon as you wake up,' the rabbit said.

'It means I'm dreaming then, I don't need to worry then, this is a good dream,' she said smiling.

'Yes it is,' the rabbit replied.

'I will just enjoy the dream while I'm in it, because the world out there could be very gloomy with bandits, screaming people and all sorts of monsters trying to stop us on our journey,' she walked up to a nearby tree and sat on the protruding trunk.

The rabbit hops after her and stops next to her, 'and where might you be going?' the rabbit asked.

'Celestia, it's a world my father told us about. It's where angels live and it's not as dark and gloomy as earth. My father says its filled with all kinds of fruits and food and the people there are very hospitable and there are lots of happy children to play with,' Amy chatted on.

'Celestia, I think I've heard of it,' the rabbit said.

'You have?' asked Amy.

'Yes,' the rabbit said hopping on her lap.

'Can you tell me where it is so I can tell my brother? I'm really tired of walking through forests and mountains not knowing where exactly we are going,' Amy sighs.

'Maybe I would, when you come back here,' the rabbit replied.

'How will I know I will come back here, I've never dreamt of this place before,' Amylooks around the bright colourful garden.

'I'm sure you will, when next you sleep,' the rabbit said.

'And if I don't find you here?' Amy asked.

'Just call out my name, I'm always here, I will hop right out,' the rabbit told an attentive Amy.

'What's your name Mr rabbit?' Amy asked eagerly.

'Sith,' the rabbit replied with what seemed like a smile on his face if rabbits could smile.

'Sith,' Amy chorused.

Max carried Amy through the gates of the small dingy town. A few people were scattered around some sitting and talking, it looked like there wasn't much for anyone to do. It was the kind of town nobody stayed too long in and everyone was just passing through.

'Hello, anyone knows a doctor?' Max called out at a group of men standing in front of a dimly lit bungalow. None of them responded.

Max looked around for who he could as next. Two ladies approached.

'Know any doctors around?' he asked them.

'No-,' one of them answered and was about to talk further when the other nudged her signalling her not to say anything.

'What kind of town is this?' Max asked himself a little too loudly because someone around him heard and responded.

'A smelly old town with dilapidated houses and people who don't really care about anyone else except the people at the bar that got me drinks and a large ol turkey but that was after I smacked that obstinate giant out cold,' a voice came from somewhere around Max and he looked around and didn't see anyone.

'Down here you young fool,' Blog said, calling Max's attention towards him.

'Oh sorry, you're a dwarf,' Max said as politely as he could.

'Obviously, and who's the little princess you have over your shoulder?' Blog asked, staggering a bit then catching his balance.

'My sister, she's fainted for hours and I need a doctor to just check on her,' Max stared down at the half drunken dwarf, he was obviously drunk and was fighting very hard to stay erect.

'I can assure you young lad, that there is no doctor anywhere around here, but you're in luck. I used to be an expert in herbs back in my home and I might just have the remedy for your sister. She looks like she's just really tired and getting some much needed sleep,' Blog said.

'And how can you tell?'

'Through years of-,' Blog staggered, 'You better follow me before I pass out, I have a little inn that you can pass for the night here and it's right that way. I might have a little mix that will help her rest and wake better than she has ever been.'

'Thankyou.'

'From the look of things you might also need some rest and I definitely also need some rest so we better hurry along,' Blog walked ahead of Max gesturing for him to follow.

'Thank you,' Max quickly followed Blog, 'What's your name?'

'My name is Blog the great gun slinging dwarf from the wild west,' Blog answered.

'Blog the great…'

'You can just call me Blog,' Blog lets out an amused laughter, 'hurry along lad.

Max followed Blog as he walked through the sparsely populated town. He led them down the road to a story building at a corner of the town.

Blog opened the door and Max followed closely behind, there were rows of rooms down a narrow corridor and a staircase at the end of the corridor which Blog took them through. They came across some people and they all nodded as Blog passed through and blog waved back.

They climbed up the staircase and entered the first room after the room.

'Everyone seems to know you around here,' Max said.

'They all saw me take on the giant, I would say I have become some sort of hero around here in just one day,' Blog replied proudly.

'Thankyou for helping us.'

'Dwarfs are known to be very kind,' Blog looked at him and smiled, he lets out a loud laughter, 'just kidding, put her on the bed.'

Max gently places Amy on the bed and Blog mixed a brew. He poured it in a carved wooden cup and gently raises Amy's head pouring the mix in her mouth. He then places her on the bed and covers her with a blanket.

'You might also need some of this, your body is covered in bruises,' Blog hands over a cup of the brew to Max and he gulps it down immediately. 'What did this to you?'

'Naschians.'

'Those nasty things,' Max said, 'don't wish to come across them anytime soon. Hear you have to fight them with your eyes closed or they scream and your blood will come gushing out plus they have nails that look like claws.'

'Yeah, and it stings like claws,' Max winced, taking a look at the wounds.

'How did you fight them?' Blog asked.

'Tried my best, I guess we were lucky.'

'You need a lot of luck surviving these days,' Blog hands him a herbal mix in a bowl. 'Pour this in water and clean your wounds with it, there's a tiny bath over there by the corner,' Blog points to a small door at the corner of the room. 'You can sleep on the bed aswell and I'll sleep on the floor right there.' He points to a small place in the corner of the room.

'Are you sure?' Max tries to protest.

'Very sure. I am drunk and tired and I'm going to sleep right away. Make sure you do the same and I'll you in the morning,' Blog walks to the corner and laid on the floor.

'Blog,' Max called out but there's no answer, Blog is already fast asleep, the sound of his snoring making the whole room vibrate. 'That was really fast,' Max whispered to himself.
