The figures of two teens traversed through the narrow corridors of an old wooden orphanage. These two teenagers, Alan and Leon, have essentially lived inside this orphanage their entire lives, never having had the opportunity to experience life outside of the slums of Doria.
Sixteen years prior, the orphanage's front door received two baskets. In one of the baskets was a baby who was sound asleep, along with a worn-out book and a necklace bearing the name Alan Lucius. The other contained a weeping infant bearing a tag that read Leon Alkaios. Despite her confusion, the orphanage's owner had great sympathy for these two babies and has raised them ever since.
Soon after, Alan and Leon arrived at the front reception table and noticed the silhouettes of two people. One of the figures was Mother Amy, the owner of the orphanage, and the other was a girl the same age as Alan and Leon.
Mother Amy heard the footsteps arriving and glanced towards Alan and Leon. She revealed a gentle smile as she began to speak. "This is Ariel, and she will be living with us from now on, Please take care of her."
Beside Mother Amy, a girl of average height stood unmoving with her head lowered. Ariel, whose long auburn hair covered her ears, raised her head to face Alan and Leon, revealing her fair skin, inherent beauty, and emerald eyes.
Her brows knitted as she looked into Alan's and Leon's eyes; she seemed genuinely puzzled. Alan then politely bowed as he introduced himself. "My name is Alan Lucius." Despite being confused by Ariel's response, Leon took Alan's lead and made his introduction. "My name is Leon Alkaios."
Upon hearing the greetings, she straightened herself and softly spoke. "I am Ariel Aurora, it's pleasure to meet you."
Mother Amy once again smiled towards Alan and Leon. "Might you two boys give her a tour around the orphanage?"
...
Three individuals sat side by side on the orphanage's rooftop with their gaze down at the nighttime view of Doria's slums. Ariel, remained quiet during the entire tour only nodding her head in response and now observed the surroundings from above in silence.
Leon sat right next to Ariel and quietly took in the scenery before breaking the silence with a question. "What brought you here?"
With a hint of surprise, Ariel turned to face Leon and saw Alan was also paying attention. Ariel opened her mouth and pursed it again, she then silently lifted her head towards the stars above. "I cannot stay here."
Alan Turned his head towards Ariel with a look of uncertainty. "what do you mean?"
Ariel eyes casted downwards and her face etched with a sense of gloom as she slowly rose from her position. She peered deeply into the eyes of Alan and Leon before asking. "What do the two of you know about blessings."
Alan's eyes twitched upon hearing a familiar term used before him, a term he only heard within his ancient book. Before Alan could respond Leon interjected with a perplexed stare and asked Ariel. "What is a blessing?"
A gentle rush of wind blew against Ariel's face as she turned towards the exit. "Tonight i will escape this orphanage, i highly suggest the two of you to come with me."
Before They could reply Ariel walked away leaving the two boys sitting there in silence. Leon swiftly struck a gaze with Alan expressing his puzzlement of the situation. "She is leaving the orphanage and wants us to accompany her? what for."
"I don't know." Alan too showed a perplexed expression as he stared back at Leon. "It is very late we must be asleep by now." Alan began stepping towards the exit while Leon followed after Him.
In an attempt to comprehend Ariel, Leon murmured to himself, "Really, I do not understand."
...
A calm environment was where many children slept in the dead of night. Surging with adrenaline, Alan leaped out of bed abruptly and looked around, only to discover that Ariel was not in her bed. "Leon, get up!"
"What? Give me a little more time to sleep."
"Leon, there is a problem." Alan experienced a strange feeling of premonition surfaced within him.
A loud crash startled Leon, as Alan with his mind racing bolted for the source of the disturbance.
Alan raced through the endless corridors before stopping in front of the reception desk. There, he saw an unfamiliar man concealed entirely in black. Panic soared inside of Alan as he was rooted to the ground in fear unable to even utter a word. The man in black lunged at the witness the moment he sensed Alan's presence. The area was suddenly reduced to a monochromatic scene, and the invaders' movements were obviously slower and more predictable.
Once the mans fist reached Alan face, Alan evaded the flying blow with extreme precise motion, purely out of instincts. As soon as Alan's eyes met the intruder again, an intense gust of whirlwind possessing a mystical green hue shot past his face, causing his hair to fly back.
"Alan! are you..." Leon arrived at this moment only to discover something he had not anticipated.
A figure of a girl remained motionless with swirling wind surrounding her, her emerald eyes emitted a vibrant green glow entirely different from before. The previously long auburn hair now mysteriously hovered in the air revealing a sharp pointed ears. A elf, a pure-blooded elf was within the vicinity, Ariel was a pure-blooded elf.
With their jaws barely off the ground, Leon and Alan were unable to process this reality.
With a fierce gaze, Ariel slowly turned her head to face the flustered boys and grinned subtly.
"Let me ask again, what do the two of you know about blessings."
