Chapter 18 - Something's fishy

While her assistant finishes up the event's formalities, Sasha waits by the poolside. Sasha's reflection in the water reflects her sadness, matching her disappointment after putting in a year of intense effort.

However, she is a strong woman who does not let mishaps become a puddle in her path. Her reflection intensifies in resolve.

Sasha looks at her phone to see what time is it? Someone pushes her into the pool in the blink of an eye.

The sound of the unexpected splash brought people to the poolside. Luckily, Sasha knew how to swim.

She emerges from the pool completely soaked, with water seeping through her clothes. Her face turned pale, her hair drenched from the water.

Her assistant, Wee, runs up, "Who dared to do this?" he asks, glaring at the people near the pool.

Sasha, who was standing as a log after exiting the pool, takes long strides towards that person, folding her arms and keeping her gaze fixed on a single person.

She yanks the woman from her hair and dumps her into the swimming pool.

"Have you gone nuts?" exclaims the woman, splattering the water in a fit of rage. "How dare you do this to me?

With an evil smirk on her face, Sasha remarks, "Those who import perfumes from France should not wear such strong fragrances when they play dirty tricks on others."

Sasha waves at the woman in the pool who is now causing a stir, flips her hair, and rushes out from them.

"What are you grinning about?" asks one of Mr. Sirikul's coworkers.

Knowing he will not get it, Mr. Sirikul pats him on the shoulder.

Justin arrives while Meesha is eating lunch in the dining hall. He asks Meesha if he can sit with her because he has something on his mind.

Meesha agrees.

"Tim has never been this expressive. He was a little reserved, even after you two were married."

He goes on, "But you and he seem to have changed since what happened at the party."

With his hands folded and a tense atmosphere, Justin says, "As if you are meeting for the first time."

Meesha pauses while eating and asks, swallowing her food, "What happened at the party?" Asks Meesha as she puts a fork on a dish.

Meesha, her eyebrows raised, demands that Justin tell her what happened at the party.

Ever since she came here, she has heard people, around her, talking about the incident at the party. Before, she had not been interested in it, but now that Justin was perplexed by Tim's abrupt transformation, she could not resist asking.

"You....

"P' someone is looking for you at the reception," Tim interrupts while sitting beside Meesha.

"Who?"

"Don't know. Just check it yourself," Tim answers stealing a glance from Justin.

Justin rushes out, saying he will be back.

Meesha squints her eyes as she looks at Tim. "You are hiding something, right?

Tim tells Meesha to finish her lunch and gets ready since they are leaving soon. He then walks away without responding.

Meesha is becoming increasingly suspicious; she knew that Tim would not tell her if he had made up his mind, so she did not press the issue.

Because Tim had to change his schedule, Meesha returned to Bangkok by herself.

She heads straight to her room as soon as she gets home. She is impatiently searching for something in her room.

Meesha opens the drawer next to the bed and takes out the diary. This is the same diary she brought from home.

"I didn't even get a chance to open it." Opening the diary, Meesha settles into her bed. She is hoping to find something that will explain why she came here.

"What the fish!"

Looking at the diary, Meesha is baffled. It is completely empty. Not a word is written on it at all.

"How could it be? "This appears to be old; why is not anything written on it?" Meesha thinks as she ruffles through the entire diary.

She gets up and looks around for another one that looks similar. She finds nothing.

"Oh! This is insane. I thought I would be able to find new clues, but....

Meesha recalls that Tim did not want her to know what happened at the party. She now doubts that it has anything to do with Tim.

"Perhaps Tim changed it, or maybe I am just overthinking things."

"But I need to find out what happened at the party that Tim is so not ready to tell me," Meesha suspects.

She keeps the diary back in the drawer and heads out to greet everyone.
