Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 – Special class.

(Wait! Common rarity?! This can't be it!)

(Are you saying that I endured all of this random encounters that almost murdered me and other bullshit only for the common rarity item?!)

(Fuck me!)

(….)

(Okay. Calm down…. It says that it unlocks…Class?)

(Hm?)

(Class rarity: Common (Grow)?)

(Weird… My other classes are common rarity, but they don't have the "Grow" part.)

(…)

(Ah fuck it.)

[Do you wish to use the item [The Class Book Of The Forgetful Researcher]? The item is one use only.]

"Yea. Let's use it."

The book began glowing before then disappearing.

[You have used the [The Class Book Of The Forgetful Researcher]

[You have unlocked the access to the class [Chaos Researcher].]

[You have managed to get on your hands on the common class you normally cannot obtain by normal means.]

[You have gained title: Class acquirer]

[Title Rank: E]

[Effect]

-Gain 5 class points.]

(Oh. At least I got title.)

(Anyway, what does that class do?)

?

"…"

"Eh?"

"Question mark?"

[Notice]

"?"

[You have acquired a special class: Chaos Research.]

[Providing the user with the necessary explanation.]

[The class [Chaos Research] is a class without a without solid form at the start.]

[The [Chaos Researcher] uses different classes as research subject, combining and creating something new, creating a brand new class.]

"?"

"Oh?"

[The classes you can pick for your research cannot have too high rarity and the number of the classes you can pick. Not only that, the ability to level up this class will depend on the targeted classes, meaning that if the chosen classes levels are too low, it will be impossible to level up the experiment class.]

[When picking classes, you will also pick a word that will influence the classes creation.]

[Simple put: selected classes + word = created class.]

[The number of the experiment you can is 1, however each time you managed to fully level up the class to the level MAX, the class will evolve and you will be able to conduct new experiment.]

"…"

"Huh…"

"So wait. In short, I'm making my own class from scratch?"

(Okay. Fuck that! This sounds broken!)

(Fuck the fact that this isn't a legendary class or something.)

(An ability to create your own class from scratch with you having a decision on how it would develop?! Who the hell made this class!?)

[The [Chaos Researcher] has not taken its current form. Do you wish to form its current form?]

"Fuck yea!"

[Beginning the research.]

[You are currently only able to use common rarity classes for the research.]

[You are only allowed to use classes you have.]

[You are allowed to pick 2 classes.]

[You are allowed to pick 1 word.]

(!)

(Wait! Calm down!)

(There was a warning that I will be able to conduct new experiment after the class reaches max level and evolves. So does that mean I cannot change my mind later on?)

(Not only that, it seems I will be forced to grow the chosen classes if I want to develop experiment.)

(So I guess I need to calm down and think.)

"…."

"Okay."

"What should I pick? |

(Should I pick 2 monster related classes?)

(…)

(Nah.)

(What I need is my own strength right now.)

(So does that mean I should pick poison mage for one slot?)

(But what for the next?)

(Blacksmith, necromancer, alchemist, summoner and tamer.)

(Necromancer… Definitely no.)

(Right now its too low level and its sucks ass. It gotten bit better since I leveled it up a bit, but not there yet.)

(Summoner… Would I summon something like slime monsters made out of a poison?)

(Tamer? How would that work? Tame a monster that has poison or something? But I did not encounter a single monster using poison.)

(Honestly, I have still zero clue how the class making works and I want right now more of my own strength than relay on the monsters.)

(But would either of those 3 work well with poison mage? Should I forget about poison mage and use 2 different monster specializing classes? Or should I get a new class that could maybe have a nice possible combination with the poison mage?)

(And last, the two production classes.)

(Blacksmith and alchemist.)

(Honestly, I can see them working quiet well together. But for mixing with the other classes I have? What would that make?)

(Summoner and blacksmith? Maybe some sort of mechanical monster would be summoned?)

(Tamer? Yea… Doesn't quiet sit with… Oh wait! Homunculus, right? The living being you can create with alchemy. I wonder if I could create my own monsters like that.)

(The necromancy… Maybe something similar?)

(And poison mage? Yea... I don't think….)

"…"

"Wait a moment…. Wouldn't that…. No wait… There is a chance that it would…. They are similar in the way…"

"… There is a good chance that it could work…. No, there is very high chance it would work."

"But then what about the word? That word would definitely work…. But is it the best option? Isn't there anything….!"

"Wait! If I use that then maybe?"

"…"

"Its possible that it maybe will work."

"…"

"Fuck it."

"I decided."

"Well, I'm planning to stick with both of them anyway, so I can risk it."

"I chose class A: [Poison Mage] and class B: [Alchemist]."

"As for the word: I will use [Plague]."

[Processing.]

[….]

[Combination of classes: [Poison Mage], [Alchemist] and word [Plague] possible.]

[Do you wish to use the combination?]

[Warning. The changes will be invisible and you cannot start the new research until the current form of the class reaches the max level.]

"Yea. I will!"

[Finaly warning. Are you-]

"Yea, yea. I get it. YES!"

[The process will begin.]

[The class structure is being created.]

[Nature and aspect of the [Poison Mage] and [Alchemist] classes are fusing.]

[The word [Plague] is mutating and shaping power of the two classes.]

[All materials are being torn to shreds and remade a new.]

[…]

[…]

[…]

[Process completed.]

[The [Chaos Researcher] has been turned into [Chaos Researcher: First Research – [Plague].]

[The class [Chaos Researcher: First Research – [Plague] has received 1 level up.]

[[Chaos Researcher: First Research – [Plague] Level 1/25]

[You have obtained skill [Plague Creation].]

"Okay… I'm not asking for much… Well, I'm… But at least don't give me some stupid trash, PLEASE!"

Phantasia began reading the skill decryption carefully.

"…."

"Holy fuking shit…Honestly, I doubted that I would get something exactly what I wanted or if anything, something maybe different than I wanted."

"But I got exactly what I was aiming for?! How?!"

[Plague Creation]

[Level 1/10]

[Active] – [Type: Poison / Creation]

[Use your own skills and materials you have at hand to create a plague.]

[This skill possess two function.]

[The first is plague creation.]

[By using different materials, you can create the plague.]

[The plague creation depends on the materials you used during its creation. Each material, substance and other stuff may grant ability or specific effect as well as its form AND its starting shape.]

[The plague creation can register the plague you create create.]

[The number of the different plagues you can make is currently: 1]

[When the plague is created, it will automatically regenerate over time or you can use your own your own MP or materials to create the plague. You have limit how much of the plague you can store with skill, but not when making one.]

[The modification you can do with the plague depends on this skill level.]

"…"

"NICE!"

When you think about poison, what do you usually thing?

Something harmful, right?

But the poison can be a medicine if used specifically or medicine can be harmful if not used correctly, this is quite simple, right?

Then what about the alchemy?

With alchemy you can both create poison and medicine.

Something that can heal or something that can harm.

So, I've wondered.

What if I combined the [Alchemist] and [Poison Mage] classes? [Poison Mage] does make poison, but the production classes have a lot of freedom when it comes to the creating.

So, what if I somehow manage to give that "Freedom" to the [Poison Mage]?

Wouldn't I be able to create some nasty poisons?

But poisons alone probably wouldn't do.

No.

I need to give them NASTY form.

Something that may make it even more dangerous.

So, I thought about the plague.

What if I can create a weapon! A plague that will destroy everything?

AND AS IT TURNS OUT! MY WAY OF THINKING WAS CORRECT!

(I honestly wasn't expecting to get exactly what I wanted.)

(I would be even fine with something that would just make my poisons stronger.)

(BUT THIS IS PERFECT!)

"…"

"No wait. Let's not get ahead of ourselves."

"The skill description is one thing but the other is performance."

"Not only that, I still haven't created a plague, so I don't how exactly it works. For all I know, it may turn into the skill that is in reality a complete garbage, or I may not even be able to create anything for long run or some other bullshit, making the skill completely useless."

"I need to first see and know what the hell I'm dealing with."

(There is no way they would make this that powerful from get go.)

(It said that the class will grow and evolve, so does that mean that it will get powerful after it evolve few times and its early forms are the weakest?)

(Still, the thing with this class is that I need to level up 2 different classes, even if I don't want to if I want to upgrade it.)

(Not only that, its "Create", meaning I need to put efforts and other stuff to make it useful, just like alchemy or blacksmithing can create junk or good stuff.)

(So maybe its not really that bad? Or maybe it is bad right now and right now it requires different things like time and research as well as materials like alchemy? So maybe the skill bit harder to use but be instead strong?)

"…"

Well, lets see what we have here anyway."

"[Plague Creation]."

["Plague Creation" has started.]

[Please chose starting materials.]

"Hm… Then, how about this?

[Green Dandelion Potion]

"Oh. It seems to have worked."

[Plague cannot be created.]

"Damn. One thing alone won't do? Or maybe because the material itself sucks? This potion is quite pathetic."

"Hm…."

"Then if I add this…. Oh wait… What if I add the second green dandelion potion? Huh. It worked? But does that influence the end results?"

I began messing around.

Testing various things and seeing what I can add.

And here is the first plague I created.

[Green Dandelion Plague]

[Effect: Inflict movement slow 0.5% for 15 seconds.]

[Starting Form: Smoke]

[Properties: Infection (Corpse - Weak) – Spreads around when the host dies.]

"…"

(Wow… It sucks.)

(The effect is even worse compare to the potion and the way to spread it around is to kill the host? But that thing can't kill a thing in the first place, making the infection part completely useless!)

(I mean I was messing around, not trying for real and just testing it out, but still… This is quite bad for the first try… Even worst when I fucked up my first potion or dagger….)

(Not only that, if I even want to mess around with making plagues, I need to use materials?! I lost the green dandelion potions! All of them!)

(Well, they were useless in the first place, but I kind of wanted them for making more experiments.)

(Still, this skills is far more tricker than I though.)

(Still, the starting cost to even create the plague but not amount seem to be pretty high, so one thing is suppling the plague while the other is creating new one.)

(It would take me a lot of materials and I mean like a LOT if you want to create an proper plague.)

(Not only that but it will also take a lot trails and errors.)

(Fortunetly, it seems that even if you remove the plague, its still registered so you can put it one of the slots.)

(However, only the plague that currently has a slot will be generated over time and you will be only able to create the plague that is in slot.)

(Well, I got to say… This skill is very complicated and honestly, with my current materials, I don't even think I can even create anything useful right now.)

"…"

"Still, it's possible."

"If I get a specific materials and enough of it, I can create a plague so dangerous that I maybe be able to wipe out this whole city."

"It has enough poetical, but it requires a lot of things before I can even use it in the first place."

"Especially alchemy."

"I need to research more alchemy as well as the stuff I can make with it so I can provide different materials for the plague creation."

"It will take time and resources, but I also need a lot of research as well, both for the alchemy research AND plague research."

(But I really would need something like a quiet place where I can work in peace.)

(Not only that, I don't think experimenting with plagues inside the city is a smart idea….)

"It would be nice if I had a place to…."

(…)

(Wait a bloody second…. Can't I use this place?!)
