Chapter 24 - An Unexpected Night

In Janne's room, she gently laid Satoru down on her bed, taking a moment to quietly observe him.

His breathing was steady, and his face, though pale from exhaustion, held a peaceful expression.

You might wonder why Janne chose to place him in her room instead of his own.

"So I can take care of you all day long, and keep an eye on you," Janne murmured, as if responding to an unspoken question.

Her voice was soft, almost tender, yet there was a subtle edge to it.

"And besides," she continued, a hint of mischief in her tone, "when you wake up, I'll be right here to hold you accountable for your recklessness."

Janne's gaze remained fixed on Satoru, her earlier frustration softened by a quiet fondness. Despite her words, there was no mistaking the underlying concern in her actions. She pulled up a chair next to the bed, prepared to stay by his side until he awoke, ready to ensure he didn't put himself in harm's way again.
