The hotel we stayed at was very enthusiastic, arranging a "Dumpling Banquet" to entertain our international guests. Before the banquet, the executive chef personally took the stage to teach the foreign guests how to make dumplings. We saw him working while explaining, and of course, his instructions were completely in Chinese.

"Everyone, please look, we take the kneaded dough and shape it into small pieces, use the rolling pin in my hand to roll them out into round wrappers, then put the dumpling filling inside—neither too much nor too little—then bring the edges of the wrapper together, dip your fingers in a little bit of water, and pinch the dumpling edges into a wave shape or a petal shape, depending on personal preference.

Dumplings are a traditional Chinese food, and there's a saying, 'It's better to be upside down than standing, but nothing's better than eating dumplings.'…"
