Charlotte suddenly felt uncomfortable, sensing that there was another aroma in the air besides the smell of food. It was a pleasant scent mixed with... mushrooms?
She couldn't quite identify the exact fragrance.
"Ahem," she coughed to cover her awkwardness. "Sister just thought you were too cute. It's just a kiss from an elder, don't misunderstand, haha."
How embarrassing.
Charlotte quickly gathered her tray and fled.
Fawna stared at her retreating figure with watery eyes, touched her own cheek, and smiled happily.
Just like her brother said, little deer is very likable~
Charlotte hurried to the hall, preparing three sets of disposable toiletries, including soap and shampoo, as well as a towel, intending to distribute them to the single-room guests.
Bear was wiping down the three machines, and the faint smell of disinfectant lingered in the air.
An hour later, she finally heard someone coming downstairs.
Charlotte grabbed the items and walked to the corridor.
"Guests, these are complimentary disposable toiletries from our shop. Additionally, we sell women's hygiene products and underwear for both men and women. If you need any, you can purchase them at the front desk."
Emma paused for a moment, then her face lit up. She hurried forward to accept the items, thanking sincerely.
"Thank you, boss! Thank you so much!"
Charlotte's gaze fell on Fawna and the woman behind her, handing over the items.
"I apologize, these items were just found in the storeroom, not sure if they're expired, but please make do with them."
She wasn't lying; she had indeed found them in the system's warehouse.
The second-floor bathroom automatically refilled disposable items, so she didn't have to worry about that.
According to the shop's rules, single rooms weren't provided with these supplies, but in the apocalypse, no one carried toothbrushes and toothpaste with them.
Going without brushing for a long time wasn't ideal for one's health.
For the sake of her well-being, she decided to distribute them for free. After all, it didn't cost her anything.
"Oh, and there are two new washing machines in the bathroom. It costs 5 points to wash a load of clothes. There's also laundry detergent available in the hall if you need it."
Washing machines?
Emma thought the owner was lying. She had just done her laundry last night, and there wasn't even a basin, let alone washing machines!
How could there possibly be two washing machines overnight? Even if she went out to find them, it wouldn't be easy to find two functional ones!
Behind her, Fawna jumped up with a cheer, "I can change into new clothes!"
She had already noticed the glass cabinet in the hall and was thrilled to hear about the new underwear on sale.
Hugging her toiletries, she bounced over to the glass cabinet.
"Wow! There really are underwear! And tampons! What a magical big sister! Love you!"
Fawna threw her items on the counter, intending to open the glass door and try on the clothes to see which color suited her.
However, as soon as she touched the cabinet door, a mild electric current flowed through her fingers.
"Ouch! Why is it electrified?" Fawna backed away in surprise, cradling her fingers.
Charlotte hadn't expected that, but she guessed it might be a security measure.
She put on a professional smile and stepped forward to open the cabinet door.
"Which one do you like? I'll get it for you."
Fawna pointed to a light green sports bra. "I like this one."
Charlotte handed it to her and smiled at the two behind her. "Do you need anything?"
Emma's heart pounded, almost unable to believe her eyes.
Not only was there laundry detergent, but also men's and women's underwear?!
Laundry detergent was only 5 points a pack, bras were 10 points, and underwear was 6 points each. If she bought a set for her sister, brother-in-law, and herself, it would total 43 points.
But she had already spent 20 points this morning. She couldn't keep asking her brother-in-law for crystal nuclei...
Oh well, you have to spend money to make money!
After all, the crystal nuclei were given by her brother-in-law. Buy!
With that thought, Emma straightened her back and spoke with a slight air of command, "I'll take two sets of bras, two pairs of women's underwear, and one pair of men's underwear. Also, one pack of laundry detergent. Charge it to my card."
In the apocalypse, Emma lived humbly, relying on others to survive.
Who would have thought that in peacetime, she carried luxury bags, wore limited-edition high heels, and led a group of sycophants, walking through malls and having salespeople package clothes for delivery to her home...
Charlotte swiftly packaged the items in a plastic bag. "That's 43 points. Please proceed to the checkout."
Snapped out of her reverie, Emma looked at the plastic bag in disbelief.
What kind of packaging is this?! How can I carry this?!
Where is her secretary?
But then she realized, those days of luxury were long gone. Now, she was struggling to survive.
And her secretary? She had died long ago. Ha.
She had to survive, and live as glamorously as before!
She would show those who looked down on her that even without powers, she could live better than them!
Charlotte watched as Emma's expression changed from gloomy to determined, thinking that a woman's heart was indeed unpredictable.
As long as Emma didn't cause trouble in her shop, she wouldn't interfere.
Fawna bought five tampons, a set of underwear, and a pack of laundry detergent, spending 31 points in total.
Fawna was the opposite of Emma; she never hid her feelings, always expressing them openly. She was genuinely cute and pure-hearted.
Whoever raised such an innocent girl in such a harsh world must be incredibly powerful.
Charlotte liked her very much.
But she wouldn't give her a discount.
She was a businesswoman, after all, profit-driven.
Fortunately, Fawna didn't expect any discount for their familiarity.
Now, the hall was left with only the athletic woman and Charlotte.
Seeing that she had no intention of speaking, Charlotte sat back at the checkout and reviewed today's sales.
The breakfast revenue was decent, totaling 110 points.
After returning the remaining food to the system, she instructed Bear to go upstairs to clean and disinfect.
Finally, the woman spoke, her voice still hoarse.
"Can you sell these items in bulk?"
Especially the tampons, which her female teammates desperately needed.
They weren't available in the open market and were too expensive on the black market. As a marginal team, they couldn't afford them.
Whenever a teammate had her period, they would surround her, offering protection.
But due to drinking cold water, eating cold food, and sleeping on the ground, even with their enhanced physiques, they still suffered from severe cramps, weak legs, and overall weakness during their periods.
Some teammates even opted to have their uteruses removed by military doctors, just to survive a few more years in the apocalypse.
If they had tampons, their survival chances would significantly increase!
