Chapter 20

Since our portal was connected to the Dome, we were the only ones around.
"Follow me for now."
As we followed the club leader, we received another seal from the portal employee.
"You can go wherever you want as a couple using public transportation. We won't ask you to write a report today, but make sure you are back by 6 o'clock. You will be penalized if you are late."
The club president warned as we left in pairs. Eleine said nothing as I followed her. I was wondering why the station was so big when Eleine suddenly stopped, turned around and fixed her gaze on me.
"Hey! Let's split up."
"Hmm? Oh yeah. Suit yourself, Eleine."
She was probably planning to visit her father at the Council.
I was fine with that. I was planning to join the Arthurs no matter what.
"Say that again."
He looked at me with his hand on his hip, as if I had pissed him off again.
"Don't talk to me so freely."
"Huh?"
"This is your second warning. There won't be a third."
I knew he wasn't bluffing. If I did it a third time, he might respond in a truly unthinkable way.
"Yeah, I get it. I apologize."
"Tsk. "
Eleine walked away without saying goodbye. She clearly didn't like me. 5 minutes later we parted.

"And I got lost."
It had taken me almost half an hour to get here.
I grumbled as I wiped the sweat from my forehead with the back of my hand.
"Why the hell did the park have to be so big."
I would have gotten lost at least five times if it wasn't for the navigation device built into our wristwatches.
"Of course it took me 20 minutes to figure it out."
I looked up at the marble-columned building with a proud expression.
I had finally reached the National Arms Museum.
This was where the first story would begin.
"Ughhhh so exciting..."
The museum was displaying replicas of weapons found by mankind. Something was going to happen here today.
I went inside, even though my hands were shaking.
Let's see if I still have the add-ons I wrote in the novel.
"Dad, what's this?"
"Oh, it's one of those B-level swords from the west coast..."
Perhaps because it was the weekend, the museum was full of parents and children hoping to be heroes.
Whatever the crowd, some people always stood out, like Sofia and Arthur. I quickly spotted Arthur.
"I want him."
He smacked his lips and stared greedily at the sword in the glass display case.
"Is this the famous murasame?"
This weapon was a famous sword from an S-level dungeon. It wasn't real, just some kind of model of it on display in a museum. In fact, none of the weapons here were real.
I continued to wander around a certain area of the museum.
It felt strange to look at the main characters a little away from me.
Arthur was handsome, he was exceptional in martial arts and had a great personality. He was too perfect, so it felt inhuman.
That's why some readers were rooting for Seth. Even though Seth did everything to win, he could never beat this benevolent, soft-faced boy.
Just then I felt someone behind me watching me.
"Oh, shit."
Was it because my perception stat had gone up?
Phenomenon was standing right behind me. When I looked back to where he was, he turned his head away from me.
It had his name on it, so no matter how hidden he was, he couldn't escape me.
"He's following me."
I muttered inwardly.
I had helped him, but I had gotten a good Stalker as a result.
I would have to deal with him separately when today was over.
Anyway, it must be time.
I was tapping the floor with my sneakers, and while I was waiting, my waiting was interrupted by a huge explosion.
- BOOM!
A sound like thunder echoed. Everyone went silent.
Koong.
Koong.
Koong.
Through the deadly silence, a rumble pulsed over and over.
The footsteps of a giant creature began to make crushing sounds.
The atmosphere changed rapidly.
"Kyaaaak!"
"What is that!?"
Visitors started screaming and running. But only death waited outside. The safest place was still inside.
"Stay here! Don't come out!"
Arthur shouted to warn everyone because he sensed the dangers outside.
His confusion and his still face were enough for me to realize that this was a difficult task.
Back to our current topic, an [E] level monster and its subordinates were attacking from outside.
Only a single [E] level monster posed little threat.
The heroes would arrive in less than a minute and 20 minutes was enough to take care of the whole situation, but that was not the only problem.
A Djinn was also here, making it a two-pronged attack.
Djinn are humans who have made a pact with demons. Outwardly they looked human, but the demon pact made them incredibly powerful. The only sensible thing you could do was not to call them human anymore, because once you made a deal, there was no going back.
In the case of the museum, the heroes usually run to the most dangerous places in the novel. It was acceptable that they didn't prioritize the museum because they had security guards.
The demons took advantage of this and were sent to steal an item that shouldn't be in the museum.
Crack
Glass shattered not far away. Arthur turned in that direction and shouted.
"Sofia!"
Sofia broke a display case and pulled out two short swords.
"Are you crazy!"
"No, I'm completely sane."
It was just a replica, but the museum's alarm went off and the defense mechanisms kicked in. All exits were closed in just 3 seconds. People panicked even more, but the [E] level monster couldn't break through the barriers.
That's how Sofia saved dozens of people's lives.
"It's better this way, much better than warning people one by one."
With that, she cleared her throat and shouted at the panicked citizens.
"Everyone! Calm down! It's safer here! We are heroes too!"
"Hey you..."
"Stop it. Don't just stand there. Get a gun."
He pointed with his eyes at a man in a black jacket. Without hesitating, Sofia threw one of her short swords towards the man without giving Arthur a chance to say anything.
"Hey, don't..."
The magic blade slammed into the man and pierced his throat. Arthur froze instantly. He seemed stunned by the sudden murder.
An ordinary person would have died, but the man grabbed the knife sticking out of his neck and pulled it out. Dark magic rose from his hand and turned the blade to ash.
The man turned in the direction the knife had come from. His eyes were burning red with hostility.
"..."
As soon as I looked at the man, a name appeared on him.
"Verta#+&&'₺ her#@"+"
I looked at my talent, which showed me the name in a distorted form.
[Eye of Truth] Reward for leveling to G.
A passive ability that activates in public. It allows you to see names.
He was a Djinn, no doubt. The corruption of his name was probably because he was no longer the man he used to be.
Arthur's face paled.
Just like Sofia, he smashed a show and pulled out a replica Sword. It was only a replica, but its faithful reconstruction made it somewhat durable. Channeling his mana into the sword, Arthur caused it to tremble.
It should be strong enough to kill an [E] level Djinn.
"Ah, this is a beautiful weapon."
Sofia grinned and stood next to Arthur. Behind them, Pheniyet appeared as 3 Dome students were going to fight against a Djinn.
So I pulled out my pistol.
Ahh please stall that man for me as long as you can.
My eyes shifted to the Djinn's aide.
He was wearing a simple t-shirt instead of a black jacket like him. At first glance, he looked no different from any other visitor in the museum, but if you looked more carefully, you would have realized that he was looking for something specific.
It was a storage room at the back of the museum.
I stood up and took one last look at Arthur, Pheniyet and Sofia as they started to fight the Djinn.
