Chapter 21 - chapter:21 persephone's ring

Chapter 21

.

.

.

In the novel, even if they were seriously injured, they still managed to defeat the Djinn. I didn't think they would need my help. After all, Arthur's stats were almost in the middle of [E] level.

Sofia must have reached early [E] level. Likewise, Phenomenon should have reached [E] level.

I would like to open a parenthesis here and give some information about mana levels.

Classification or leveling was done according to letters.

[S,A.B,C.D,E.F.G]

These numbers gave information about the overall power of a wizard.

Of course, these numbers were not random.

leveling was done according to the statistics he had received.

{0-5] G level

[5-10] F level

[10-20] E level

[20-50] D Level

[50-100] C level

[100-200] B Level

[200-500] A level

[500-1000] S level

[1000-2000] SS level

[2000-.....]SS+

In addition to these

Each mana tier is divided into 2 tiers.

For example, if the average strength is around 180, it is expressed as (B+).

However, if it is 120, it is expressed as [B-].

This is done purely because the difference between mages at the higher levels is unbelievable.

Also, when a wizard reaches B rank, he is considered a top-tier wizard. This is because at this level, a wizard's abilities are greatly increased compared to lower level wizards.

In order to level up, mages must enter naturally occurring dungeons or complete dungeons created with artificial magic.

As a human mage, he is assigned to level [G] and receives an ability. With each passing level, the mage receives a special or completely different attribute for his ability. He must then enter one of the artificial dungeons to advance to level [F].

Arthur, Sofia and Phenomenon had all three statistically reached [E] level. However, they could not advance to the next tier, [D], without conquering an [E] tier dungeon.

Rather than having students enter lower tier dungeons and face death, the Dome and other schools created artificial dungeons themselves.

This allowed students to move up a level under supervision.

Also, leveling up happens between tiers.

A wizard could have 200 stats and still be at B+. Until he conquers the dungeon. This is a very difficult and laborious process.

The higher your average stats were, the higher the level you were classified at.

I looked at my current statistics.

I looked at my current statistics.

▷Stats:

[Vayne Salas

[Power 4.2]

[Endurance 4.5]

[Speed 4.3]

[Perception 5.2]

[Vitality 4.3]

[Magic power 3.5]

The average of my stats (4-5) with this value I could only be at the end of level G.

Arthur's average stats should have been between 13-14, so he was an E Level.

Sofia's stats should be between 9-10, so she is called F level or borderline E level. Recently in the dungeon exam, students were going to experience mana breakage.

That's all the information.

Once I'd pulled myself out of my thoughts, I continued to look for the second man, his timid steps and trembling body giving him away.

The man pulled the hinged door to the storage room.

The door opened upwards and the man entered.

I followed him at a distance and entered the warehouse under the museum.

It was exactly as I had expected, an area the size of the museum was underground.

A lot of replicas were placed in a row. Of course, there might have been some jewelry that had lost its function, but the demons were here for a different reason.

Some kind of ring.

The man began to look at the dates of the cargo in a panic.

"Not this one!"

"Neither is this one."

"Where is it!"

He looked flustered and all he was doing was looking at the dates of the items that had arrived at the museum.

I had a few ideas about this situation.

Probably the secret moles in the Council had used such a method to extract the precious Persephone ring.

They must have taken the ring out of the Council's ultra-secure building as a worthless replica.

That way, stealing it from the much less secure museum would be a piece of cake.

I have some idea who did it, but how they did it was a mystery.

They sent an [E] level Djinn and a guy who wasn't even a mage to steal it. And the reason for that was because they hadn't figured out what the Persephone ring was really capable of.

After the middle of the story, it becomes one of the most important artifacts in the world. An artifact that every wizard insisted on and that could even affect the power difference between demons and humans.

"Finally!"

The man's shout echoed through the warehouse and I came to my senses. He held up the ring that looked like a plain-looking wedding band between two slender fingers.

He held the ring in the air with joy. It was as if he had secured his life between these two fingers, which said a lot.

*Patt

A thin sound echoed in the room and pierced both of his arms.

*agghhh

As the ring in the man's hand fell to the ground, he was trying to get away from where he was standing.

Two more shots were heard.

*Patt *patt

The man in black fell to the ground and tried to get up.

His knees were no longer holding him.

"Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

A loud scream filled the room, but no sound escaped.

I picked up the Persephone ring that had fallen on the floor and started walking towards the man.

"Hey stay still!"

The thief, writhing in pain, looked at me with eyes full of fear.

"You! How dare you! Our masters work for the salvation of this world. The demons are our true masters and we must serve them."

I put the ring on his bleeding wound.

"Hmm ahh, my thinking was all wrong, I thought you were a civilian forced to do this job. Well... That changes things a bit."

"You wizard, you're gonna die like a dog. Do you hear me? With the help of our masters I will escape from Aspendos where you will lock me up. "

"Huh?"

A big question mark appeared in my head. What the hell was this guy talking about?

"Do you think I'm holding you captive or something?"

I asked in curiosity.

Aspendos was a special prison for the most notorious criminals in the world and he thought I was going to capture him and send him there.

" ...."

The man writhing in pain beneath me said nothing. He kept looking at me with eyes full of fear.

"You are a student of sorcery. You can't kill me, the dome will expel you!"

"Hmmm... yes, that's partly true, if you are a normal person who is not a Djinn, I won't get away with it! I would have been fired for not arresting you, but letting you go free is not a risk worth taking. You've seen my face and that's enough to make me the number one target of demons from now on, you know they are very vindictive creatures hehe!"

"F...what are you going to do then, sorcerer!"

I looked at the thief's cheerful smile, I think he was waiting for me to make a deal with him.

I smiled and looked at the almost bloody ring I had put on his wound.

"Do you know what this ring is?"

The momentary silence caused the man to frown.

"Yes, our demon masters ordered us to take it."

"Is that all?"

" ...."

There was no explanation. The man in front of me knew nothing.

"This is a rare and powerful item. I would like to tell you more about what it can do, but unfortunately my time is limited. It will be easier if I show you what it does instead."

I put my hands together at my sides and held the bloody ring between them.

"Persephone I call to you, I have set my offering in blood, wake up and serve your new master, bless me with mana between heaven and earth!"

The first few seconds were uneventful, but suddenly a black tar-like substance began to emerge where the man was lying on the ground. The sticky liquid was attacking the man in front of me like venom, the evil enemy in the Spiderman movies. It started to wrap around the man in thin threads.

"What the hell! What have you done to me?"

I spoke as the tarry black liquid engulfed the man.

"I couldn't kill you or take you prisoner. Either way, the odds were stacked against me. But I had a way to make it clean."

"No, no, no.... I don't want to die..."

"Thanks to you, I can use the ring to its full potential."

I waited until the man was completely absorbed by the tar-like substance. After a few seconds

I was the only one left in the warehouse. Everything about the man was gone. There was no bloodstain on the floor, no mess, the ring had wiped him off the face of the earth.

*ding.

I was startled by the sound of a message.

I opened the holographic message on my wristwatch.

[Persephone ring] awakened item owner: Vayne Salas

Attributes all stat points permanently increased by 2.

As soon as I read the skill, a big smile appeared on my face.
