Sophia
I'm upset with the maid for putting a strain on my relationship with Desmond. Not even for a day did Desmond visit me during my two weeks in the hospital.
Rather than that, he contacted my sister to support me. Now that I was healed from the accident, I made the decision to see him. The maid, Zazi, arrived looking very pale as I was in the living room.
When I heard a thump in the kitchen, I rushed to see what was making the noise and saw her on the floor, despite my refusal to acknowledge her attempt at a greeting.
"Zazi, wake up," I give her a hard shake. When she didn't answer when I yelled her name, I quickly contacted an ambulance to come get her to the closest hospital.

When I discovered at the hospital that she was just a few weeks pregnant, I had the biggest shock of my life.
The doctor informed me, "Miss Sophia, the patient you brought in, is a few weeks pregnant; hence, the reason she passed out was because of stress and fatigue."
I was taken aback, and my only thought was for the person who caused the pregnancy. I never imagined that a maid would have a boyfriend.
I hurried out of the hospital as soon as the doctor informed me of the test results and went to see Desmond, the only person I had a strong suspicion was the cause of the pregnancy.
I called his phone while driving to his place, but he did not respond; I was too irritated to care about his busy schedule. I arrived at his house, but he was not there, so I went directly to his office.
His secretary already knew who I was, so I didn't bother asking her permission before going to meet Desmond. I approached his door and badged in without knocking.
"Tell me the meaning of this" I flung the test findings at him in rage.
Shocked and perplexed, he recovered the test result from where it dropped.
"What is this?" He questioned and opened it, and his astonished expression was quickly replaced by one of innocence.
I responded fiercely. "I assumed you could read. That is a pregnancy test result for Zazi, who is a few weeks pregnant, so I need to know why she is pregnant in your house," I responded.
He stood up, strolled calmly to his window, and looked at me strangely. "Who said I know anything about her pregnancy?" He rolled his eyes at me.
"Who knows, she might have been pregnant before coming to my house to resume work," he replied, glancing at me.
"Desmond, the pregnancy results say she's three weeks pregnant; It means she was in your house when this pregnancy came about," I said to him.
"And if I can guess correctly, she's a month old in your house and already working for you as a maid" I replied.
"I know nothing about the pregnancy, maybe you can ask her about the person responsible for the pregnancy," Desmond replied.
"I told you before that I can't do anything with her; she's here to work, that's all. So, what makes you think I'm to blame for her pregnancy?" he inquired.
"I…." I was at a loss for words.
I just glared at him and was about to storm out of his office then I faced him again.
"But there's a chance you're to blame for the pregnancy; I'll make sure to find out," I informed him before leaving his office.
I went to my car and sat for a while, thinking about the issue. And the person who got Zazi pregnant keeps cropping up in my mind.
I was still deep in thought when I received a call from the hospital.
"Hello, Miss Sophia. The patient has been discharged; please come and sign the discharge papers and pay the bills".
"Ok, I will be there soon," I told the caller.
I decided to return to Desmond's house first to investigate and ask the security guards some questions before heading to the hospital to discharge Zazi and ask her a series of questions before deciding what to do with her.
When I arrived at the house, I went immediately to Desmond's bedroom, hoping to see anything unusual, but there was nothing there.
Then I walked outside to speak with the guards, and they told me something fascinating.
"Yes, ma'am, I've seen them together just once," one of them told me.
"The only time I saw them was when the boss came home drunk and ordered Zazi to assist him to his bedroom, that's the only time," he said to me.
I then asked him, "When was this?"
"A few weeks ago, ma'am," the guard replied.
I left him without saying anything and went to the hospital, where I found Zazi sitting on her hospital bed, tears in her eyes.
"Zazi, tell me the truth, who is responsible for the pregnancy?" I approached her and asked a question
Her eyes were fixated on the ground, attempting to avoid my stare.
"I..." she hesitated and stopped speaking.
"Zazi, I asked again, who owns the child you're carrying in your womb?"
If you don't answer my question, you'll be abandoned here, and I'm sure your poor father can't afford your hospital costs," I informed her.
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but I can't say anything to you because I promised him not to tell anyone about it, and I don't want to lose my job," she said, her eyes welling up with tears.
I was astonished and inquired, "Who is he?"
She still won't say anything. The doctor then walks into the ward to give her a pep talk about how to act while pregnant.
After the doctor departed, I asked her again; I was serious about finding out who the child's father was.
I questioned her again, this time I called her name "Zazi, Who is the father of your unborn child?"
She stared me in the eye. However, her response left me suffocated…
