Late into the night, Davian sat in his office, surrounded by stacks of papers. Though he usually stayed on top of his responsibilities, tonight he was distracted, and he found himself glancing toward the door more than once, his mind wandering back to Roseanne. He was growing accustomed to keeping an eye on her, especially since her frequent nightmares. It wasn't his usual approach, and it certainly wasn't something he planned on, yet here he was, thinking about his next move.
Across from him, Marvin stood with his arms crossed with a relaxed look on his face as he relayed his plans. "I'll head to the Red Moon Pack tomorrow morning, Alpha," Marvin said. "Hopefully, I'll find some leads, something we can use to get to the bottom of all this."
Davian nodded, his gaze still distant. "Good," he replied. "I need to know everything you find, no matter how small. I don't like leaving loose ends."
