Roseanne stood in the center of the small hall of the packhouse, nervously fidgeting with the hem of her dress as Skyla circled her, giving instructions on etiquette. It was the perfect space for their lessons, spacious enough for her to practice without feeling too confined.
"Try again," Skyla instructed gently, her eyes focused on Roseanne's posture. "This time, remember to keep your back straight and lower your eyes slightly as you curtsy. Confidence, but also respect. You don't want to look too stiff."
Roseanne nodded, biting her lower lip in concentration. She took a deep breath and positioned herself, pulling her shoulders back and lowering into a curtsy. Her movements were hesitant but careful. As she rose, she glanced at Skyla for approval, hoping she had improved since the last attempt.
Skyla smiled encouragingly. "Better. Much better. But relax your shoulders a little more. You're doing great, Roseanne."
