Roseanne sat up, brushing a stray lock of hair from her forehead. The clock beside her bed read 3:12 a.m., it was still early—too early, really.
She tried to close her eyes again, tried to let sleep claim her once more, but her mind just wouldn't calm down. With a sigh, Roseanne swung her legs over the edge of the bed and stood up.
Quietly, Roseanne slipped into a pair of soft slippers and wrapped a cardigan around herself. She needed air, she needed something to calm her nerves. Without really deciding, she found herself heading toward the garden, the one Skyla had shown her the day before.
The house felt kind of creepy at this hour, with its silence and shadows. Roseanne moved carefully, trying not to make any noise that might wake anyone. The last thing she wanted was to disturb the pack members or, worse, draw Davian's attention.
