Chereads / Origin of Chaos: Legend of The Red Tiger / Chapter 28 - I won’t let you

Chapter 28 - I won’t let you

Ever since he woke up from the experiment, his senses had sharpened to an almost frightening degree.

He could detect even the slightest movements and sounds, even if they were meters away from him.

Having that acute sense of awareness filled him with a strange sense of power, a feeling of control he had never had experienced before today.

But now, that confidence was slightly shaken.

Lee'on had been standing so close to him, and yet, he hadn't sensed him at all, not until he struck the chimera.

He didn't know why, but for some reason, that left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Though he was able to sense even the littlest things very far away from him, he barely noticed the one standing close to him.

How could he have missed someone so close, especially with his heightened senses?

It was embarrassing… like an heavy blow was dealt to his pride.

"How did you do that…?" He found himself asking, unable to hold back his curiosity.

"Oh that." Leon muttered, flashing a smug smirk at him. "It's a new skill I developed, i call it 'Claw Shot'."

"You just do like this..." Leon lifted his hand, pointing a finger at one of the remaining chimeras, his eyes gleaming with confidence. "And then…"

Swoosh!

In an instant, a claw shot out from his finger, tearing through the air like a speeding bullet.

Within the blink of an eye, the claw closed in on the beast, lodging itself deep into its head.

It was a perfect strike, one that left the chimera no time to react.

Thud!

The creature collapsed to the ground with a loud thud, its before twitching a few times before going completely still.

Dark blood slowly flowed out of its wound, forming a small pool beneath its lifeless head.

Growl!

Seeing what just happened, the last chimera went into a frenzy, charging at Lee'on with a loud snarl.

Though it had little intelligence, it still had the basic instinct of 'fight or flight' ingrained into the brains of animals.

It quickly recognized Lee'on as a huge threat to its life, and his brain shifted to fight mode, deciding to eliminate the danger before it.

However, despite the beast charging furiously at him, Lee'on remained in the same spot, lazily pointing another finger at the beast.

Swoosh!

Another claw immediately shot out of his finger, piercing deep into the chimera's forehead in an instant.

Spurt!

Thud!

Blood spurted out of its head, as the beast dropped lifeless to the ground.

"And that's taken care of." Lee'on muttered, tucking his hands into his pocket.

Alex's eyes narrowed at the two dead beasts, and his eyes flashed with a weird glint.

'That wasn't what I was asking though...' He thought, however, he didn't pursue the matter any further, simply pushing it to the back of his mind.

He knew from the start that Lee'on eliminated that chimera by shooting out a claw from his fingers.

With his speed, the claws seemed like they were moving in slow motion, making them very easy to follow.

"I didn't ask for your help, I could handled those things on my own." Alex said, his gaze drifting back to the blonde haired man.

Lee'on nodded at his words, releasing a low sigh.

"Well, you're right, but I doubt you wanted to…" He paused for a brief second, pointing his fingers at the head and heart in Alex's hands. "…with those two things in your hand."

Alex gnashed his teeth at his words, veins slightly bulging all over his forehead.

"And couldn't you find a better way to carry them… it makes you look like an organ dealer." He continued, shaking his head slightly.

'Organ… dealer?' Alex's brows twitched in annoyance, his gaze subconsciously drifting to the cold heart cupped within his palm.

Swoosh!

'I guess that's… right.' He thought, suddenly vanishing from the spot he stood with a slight gust of wind.

Whoosh!

In the blink of an eye, he reappeared in front of large table at the distance, his speed causing another blow of wind.

He gently placed the organs on the table, a cold glint flickering through his eyes as he did so.

Even though he was standing before the lifeless organs of his beloved sister, who was killed in front of him many years ago, he didn't feel as sad as he expected.

Knowing she didn't just die peacefully, but was also mercilessly used as a lab rat, he expected himself to feel… more emotion.

Yet somehow, his mind managed to remain calm during all of this, even as her head and heart laid bare before him.

He slowly backed away from the table, his eyes shining with a bright red glow.

If there was anything he felt at the moment, it was rage towards the people who caused all of this… as well as the world that allowed it.

'Cier'ta… all of them… I'll make sure you pay for all of it.' He thought, his eyes glowing even fiercer.

He suddenly pulled his hand backwards, swinging it towards one of the giant tubes hanging around the lab.

Boom!!

The sheer force behind the swing immediately sent out a thunderous blast, which tore through the air at terrifying speed, closing in on the tube in an instant.

Twoosh!!

However, just as it was about to connect with the tube, Lee'on appeared in front of it, deflecting it to the side with a powerful punch.

Bang!!!

The wave slammed into the ground instead, creating a huge crater on its surface.

"What do you think you're doing… Alexander?" Lee'on asked, his brows furrowing into a slight frown as he stared at Alex.

Growl!

"I should be asking you that…" Alex muttered, letting out a deep growl in annoyance.

"Why are you standing in my way?" He asked, clenching his hands into a tight fist.

"I get how you feel, but this laboratory hold the answer to many things… you can't just destroy it…" Leon said, pausing for a brief second.

"I won't let you." He continued, his eyes lighting up with a bright yellow glow.
