"I see. I think I understand what he's planning." After listening to Gon and Killua's explanation, Mellie spoke thoughtfully.
"What do you mean?" Mika asked quickly.
Although Mika had sensed a hidden agenda when Gon and Killua came to inquire earlier, he hadn't grasped the specifics.
So, he called for Mellie, who was resting at the time.
"What is it?"
"Simply put, that bomber, Genthru, wants to avoid us and target others instead."
"Since he can't obtain 'Plot of Beach' from us directly, he plans to manipulate others into acquiring it, then steal it from them."
"So that's what's going on!"
Mika, Gon, Killua, and the others suddenly understood upon hearing Mellie's explanation.
Tsezguerra and his companions, who had accompanied Gon and Killua, wore expressions of fear.
Clearly, they had been targeted by Genthru and his group.
"But why is Genthru so confident that we would trade with Tsezguerra?" Airmid, who had been listening quietly, asked, puzzled.
"Because several extremely rare cards are exclusively held by Genthru and Tsezguerra. Without trading with them, it's impossible for us to collect all the cards," Mellie explained.
"I can't believe Genthru used us!" Tsezguerra exclaimed, clenching his fists in anger. "While I've been avoiding direct confrontation, that doesn't mean I'm afraid of him. Where does he get the confidence to think he can wipe us out?!"
"It seems we won't be able to complete the game peacefully unless we deal with Genthru once and for all!"
Tsezguerra then turned to Mika. "Since this is all Genthru's scheme, let's postpone the trade for now."
With that, Tsezguerra turned to leave.
"Wait!"
Mika suddenly called out to him.
Looking back at Tsezguerra, Mika said with a gentle smile, "So what if it's Genthru's scheme? He's not that important."
"What does our trade have to do with him?"
"Does that mean you're still wanting to trade?" Tsezguerra asked, his eyes lighting up with hope.
"Indeed," Mika confirmed.
"I heard you would pay any price, is that correct?"
"Yes!" Tsezguerra replied firmly.
However, Mika didn't see the same conviction in his expression.
But Mika didn't mind.
"I won't make things difficult for you. Before us, you and Genthru were the closest players to completing the game, correct?"
"That means you must have clashed with him before."
"Therefore, you should know which cards Genthru is missing. I want those cards."
Mika's smile widened as he observed Tsezguerra's increasingly troubled expression.
"The cards Genthru is missing...?"
Tsezguerra instinctively took a few steps back, contemplating the implications of Mika's words.
He considered another possibility.
What if Mika and his companions were working with Genthru? What if, after obtaining "Plot of Beach," Genthru planned to use Mika to exchange a copied "Plot of Beach" for the cards he needed?
If that were the case, years of effort would be wasted.
However, if he refused to trade, he would never be able to collect all the cards. That was certain.
Tsezguerra's expression flickered with uncertainty as he struggled to make a decision.
Observing Tsezguerra's hesitation, Mika was puzzled.
He couldn't understand what was holding him back.
Mellie, however, saw through Tsezguerra's thoughts. She leaned in and whispered to Mika.
"So that's what he's worried about."
Mika's eyes widened in realization.
Now understanding Tsezguerra's concerns, Mika knew exactly what to do.
"Mr. Tsezguerra, do you know why Genthru resorted to such roundabout methods to obtain 'Plot of Beach'?"
"I haven't considered that," Tsezguerra admitted, deciding to play along.
As long as he remained uncertain of their true intentions, keeping the conversation going was advantageous. He could glean clues about their identities from their words.
"Gon and his friends were the first to encounter the 'Plot of Beach' quest. But due to its difficulty, his friends gave up."
"However, Gon, doesn't want to give up, sought our help, and together we completed the quest. But during that time, his friends were killed by Genthru, who learned about the quest."
"So, after Gon and his friends claimed their reward, Genthru attacked, attempting to steal 'Plot of Beach'."
"And... this is all I did to Genthru."
With that, Mika unleashed his aura and presence.
Tsezguerra's eyes widened in shock as he felt the overwhelming pressure.
His mind went blank, unable to process anything.
But one thing became instantly clear.
Someone with this level of power would never associate with Genthru.
"Do you understand now?" Mika asked, retracting his aura, a calm smile gracing his lips.
Faced with This overwhelming power, Mika believed that any deception would be futile.
"Yes, I understand."
"I was overthinking things."
Just like Nanoha's "friendship cannons," after experiencing the sheer force of Mika's power, Tsezguerra had a rough estimate of his strength.
He believed that someone as powerful as Mika must be among the top Hunters in the world.
And such individuals wouldn't have any dealings with someone like Genthru.
This wasn't to say that all powerful individuals were virtuous.
It was simply that Genthru was too insignificant to even register on their radar.
Having clarified the relationship between Mika and Genthru, Tsezguerra recalled Mika's request and understood his intentions.
"You want the cards Genthru is missing… Are you planning to hunt him down?"
"Indeed. But it won't be me hunting him. It will be them." Mika gestured towards Gon and Killua. "Their friends were killed by Genthru. They seek revenge."
"And I've been training them."
"So, do we have a deal?"
After a moment of hesitation, Tsezguerra agreed to Mika's terms.
He saw no reason for Mika to deceive him.
Training Gon and Killua to the point where they could defeat Genthru would likely take a considerable amount of time.
That time would be more than enough for him to settle the score with Genthru.
After all, as a former examiner, no one understood Gon and Killua's capabilities better than him.
They were still far from being a match for Genthru.
---
Tsezguerra, as a Hunter hired by the billionaire Battera, had selected many Nen users suitable for conquering Greed Island. Among them were Gon and Killua.
Unlike the others, Gon and Killua had undergone two interviews.
They were eliminated during the first interview.
Although they had improved significantly by the second interview, it wasn't enough.
Compared to Genthru, they were still far too weak.
It was this understanding of Gon and Killua's capabilities that led Tsezguerra to agree to Mika's proposal.
After all, he and Genthru would inevitably clash eventually.
Thus, after the exchange, Tsezguerra departed with the copied "Plot of Beach," preparing for his showdown with Genthru.
...
"With this, our preparations are complete."
Mika placed the cards received from Tsezguerra into his binder, then turned to Gon and Killua with a knowing smile.
"As you've seen, Tsezguerra doesn't believe in your strength."
"Otherwise, he would never have agreed to this trade."
Gon and Killua stood at attention, their expressions serious.
"It seems you're ready," Mika said, nodding approvingly. He then turned to Airmid, Mellie, and Biscuit. "Let's go. It's time for the final battle."
Mika pulled out the "Accompany" card from his binder and activated its ability.
...
"Hahaha! They took the bait!"
Genthru and his two companions burst into laughter as they looked at the message displayed on their binders.
The owner of "Plot of Beach" had changed from Mika alone to both Mika and Tsezguerra.
This was the effect of the spell card "List G-350."
By using it, one could determine the owner and quantity of any card.
Thanks to this card, Genthru, who had been lurking in the shadows, learned of the exchange shortly after Tsezguerra obtained "Plot of Beach."
The three of them were ecstatic.
They had thought they would never be able to collect all the cards, but their plan had worked perfectly.
"Hahaha! As expected of our leader! You came up with such a brilliant plan!"
Genthru's two subordinates showered him with praise, further inflating his ego.
"Ahem!"
Feigning a cough, Genthru said with a smirk, "Alright, don't celebrate too soon. 'Plot of Beach' is still in Tsezguerra's hands."
"That's true, but isn't Tsezguerra our enemy?"
"We're just back to square one, but this time, we have the advantage."
"Exactly!"
"Hahaha!"
The three of them erupted in laughter once more.
The 50 Billion Jenny prize offered by Battera was within their grasp.
50 Billion!
That was enough for them to live comfortably for the rest of their lives.
As they reveled in their fantasies of future wealth, a flash of light streaked across the sky, landing near them.
"Tsezguerra?"
The moment they saw the flash, Genthru and his companions snapped back to reality, their minds focused on battle.
They assumed that the only person who would approach them at this time was Tsezguerra.
However, as the light dissipated, the figure that appeared before them filled them with shock and disbelief.
It was Mika.
"Did they see through our plan?"
That was Genthru's immediate thought.
After all, Mika had spared them before. There was no reason for him to appear before them again unless something had prompted him to do so.
Something like their scheme.
"Hey, Genthru, long time no see," Mika greeted casually, a playful smile on his face, as Genthru's expression contorted in anger.
"M-May.. I ask what brings you here?" Genthru asked through gritted teeth.
"What brings me here? I have no business with you. It's them who want to see you."
Mika gestured towards Gon and Killua, who stepped forward.
"Genthru, we're here for revenge!"
"Revenge? Hah!"
Genthru's face twisted even further upon hearing their declaration.
He didn't take Gon and Killua's strength seriously.
He could crush them like insects if he wanted to.
The only reason he hadn't killed them before was because of Mika.
Due to Mika's overwhelming presence, he had been forced to tolerate their earlier provocations.
But he hadn't expected them to come after him after he had spared their lives.
This enraged him.
"Brats, don't rely on your backup!" Genthru snarled.
"Hey, so what if we do? What are you going to do about it?" Killua taunted, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
Gon, however, remained steadfast and direct.
"We won't rely on Mika. Let's fight, Genthru!"
"This is our battle!"
"Damn it!"
Genthru felt his blood boil at Gon's serious expression.
Compared to Killua's taunts, Gon's words infuriated him even more.
A fight to the death with him?
He wasn't stupid!
Did they think their words carried any weight? They didn't!
Mika might be standing there calmly with a smile on his face, but who knew how he would react if Genthru seriously injured these two brats?
It was like picking a fight with a rich kid.
Even if the rich kid said that any injuries were his own fault, would anyone believe that?
If someone actually hurt the rich kid, would their parents just let it slide?
The same applied to Gon and Killua.
Unless Mika gave the word, Gon's words were meaningless.
Even if Mika did speak, one couldn't take his words too seriously. After all, they might just be empty promises.
Genthru found himself in a dilemma, caught between his anger and his fear of Mika's retaliation.
But Gon didn't care.
He didn't know about Genthru's internal struggle, and even if he did, he wouldn't care.
Genthru was the enemy.
There was no need for mercy towards an enemy.
If they emerged victorious, they might show some leniency towards the defeated, depending on the circumstances.
But that was only for those who no longer posed a threat.
Against an opponent of equal or greater strength, one could never let their guard down.
They had to fight with everything they had and eliminate the threat completely.
These were the lessons Mika had taught him.
