Hassan's POV
It was quite hot so I decided to go to the pool at my favorite spot after work. Being a boss , my schedule was supposed to be so flexible but I would rather be there to see to things myself. Call me a perfectionist.
The pool was cool and I ordered a glass of whiskey with ice just the way I like it. I liked the place because it was always quiet and not filled with too many people.
I sipped my whiskey and busied my thoughts with the weekend ahead . I really needed to take a break from work . With the way I work , one would think I was an ordinary employee and not the CEO. I have tried to no avail to explain to my friends that owning chains of businesses takes a lot of your time even though you have people that work for you.
"You just choose to do your things this way" they would say . "You are acting like we do not own businesses too" and we would all laugh.
But the good thing is I enjoy being a business man. I didn't just decide to do it because of the wealth it generates.
Growing up , I helped in my family businesses a lot and as the only child of my parents I could not refuse or let them down. That was how I fell in love with running businesses and so far I've been really successful in the business line making my parents proud.
The only thing they bother me about was getting them a daughter in law. After I lost my fiancée to cancer three years ago I could not bring myself to replace her with anybody else because they just weren't her and it didn't feel good .
To make my mom happy , I once agreed to go on a blind date and it ended up being a disaster because my date was rude to the waiters and that is one thing that turns me off. Or maybe I just needed an excuse to not see her again.
I was about to step out of the pool to get more drinks at the bar when two beautiful women emerged from the restaurant. But only one of them caught my attention, I looked away almost immediately because I would not want to be caught staring but I already caught on how beautiful and hot she was looking in the silk dress. The way the dress hung gracefully to her curves.
The way she packed her brown hair in a bun replayed in my mind . I felt tempted to remove the clip holding her hair up so it would fall on her shoulders. I was dying to see how long her hair was.
The sound of their laughter filled the air and I really wanted to know what they were talking about that seemed so exciting.
I stole a quick glance at them as I sipped from my glass, it didn't look like they came to swim. As a matter of fact it looked like they came straight from work.
She was looking towards my direction and I looked away pretending not to notice .
Were they talking about me ? Was that why they were giggling. I felt a small smile at the corner of my lips.
I was surprised at myself because I haven't felt like this in a long time. The last fling I had few months back turned into a nightmare. The fact that I thought I had found the one at last only to end up being drugged and robbed by her. I laughed softly as the memory played in my mind's eyes. I obviously wasn't ready for another nightmare.
I got out of the pool just as they were about to go back into the lounge. To my surprise she looked back and our eyes met. Her eyes sparkled , I didn't know what it was but something was pulling me to those beautiful eyes. I could see lust in them.
I smirked and she looked away almost immediately and left.
It felt like a crazy sort of silent conversation between us but what if she had a boyfriend Or what if she was even married.
I would not know if I didn't ask but I chose not to walk up to her .
Traumatized ? Maybe.
I always look forward to the karaoke session so I decided to go change out of my swimming outfit and headed in for the karaoke session.
I took an extra shot of whiskey and walked into the restaurant hoping to see the beautiful damsel again. The beautiful damsel that walked right into my life to stir some feelings and emotions. But I knew better than to make the same mistake twice. The woman that robbed me looked like an angel too. Lessons learnt!
The sight that welcomed me when I walked in was so captivating that I could not move further. She was singing along side Westlife . Her firm but melodious voice filled the room and her friend was busy clapping happily and cheering her on. They didn't seem to notice me this time. She was the most beautiful woman I have set my eyes on in a while . She closed her eyes and sang with so much passion , at that point I wanted to wrap her around my arms to make her feel safe . I wanted to tell her that everything was going to be just fine, most especially I wanted to run my hand through that silky hair and kiss her passionately.
Instead of going to sit , I walked out of the restaurant in an attempt not to get too caught up in the moment. It felt dangerously good , too good to be real . I walked towards my car and drove out of the car park in a hurry like I was running away from something . I was really running away from something , I was running away from a very good looking and sexy stranger. Stranger ? That word didn't feel right because it felt like I had known her all my life . The connection and attraction was wild and just right.
I made the right decision by walking out of the restaurant, who knows what would have happened if I didn't ? I might have walked up to her and said something really silly.
Deep down I knew I was going to see her again. I felt crazy but I was certain that our paths would cross again.
