Chapter 7 - 06

After Zenemaih and Shadrach left the resturant they both entered the carriage and left for another location to meet up with Victoria who had made an appointment with them earlier

[At the Saint Clare manor]

"Where did this book ?" Zenemaih asked his sister -Victoria

"From father's closed room.." Victoria replied softly

"And you say it has knowledge on demons and demonologists ....." Zenemaih spoke with excitement, he was getting bored the Crusader training at the church as it wasn't bearing any fruit

"Yes, I've gone through it...and use your insider voice " Victoria couldn't help but fix her brother's lack of liberary manners

Zenemiah, Shadrach and Victoria sat and debated amongst themselves about the book titled;

[Demon Knowledge]

The three youngesters were in the settled in the liberary of the Saint Claire household, the book took their attention.

Zenemiah knew his father gathered knowledge from different places, always researching a lot of things.

"Someone in your bloodline was a demonologist Zene, and this book may help the Crusaders army to an extent".... Shadrach added.

Victoria looked at her brother who was lost in thoughts. "Shadrach, earlier today I told I wanted to play a bigger part in the war against demons and I needed to become something more...". Zenemiah said.

"Yes, but where are you going with this ?" Shad asked

"I know what I must do....

Finding the origin point of the demons in Haiderguard.." Zene concluded.

"That's suicide, brother, what happened to training at the camp?". Victoria asked .

"Sister, father left that book here for a reason, I don't want to repeat the cycle of becoming a crusader fighting demons for another ten or twenty years..." Zene paused, holding his sister by the hands. "This is my mission; to end this accursed war once and for all !"

"I agree with Victoria on this one,

the crusader's army may already have a team handling the case "Shad had to cut in.

"Then I have to join that team then, but you can't be a part of this sister, you too Shad" Zenemiah almost concluded before Victoria blurted.

"No way, you can treat me like a little girl, I am a Saint Claire, I do have a part to play in this war, that is becoming a demonologist"

Victoria was persistent in anything she set her mind and heart to something and in this scenario, Zenemiah had a hard time discouraging her.

"You need me Zene, you know that". Shadrach said.

"Mother will be worried"

Zene pointed out.

"She will be; this war wouldn't ended until a change happens"

Victoria said besoothing her brother.

"We may be stopped, we might even encounter a demon along the way, but at the end of the day, it will be worth it". Shad added.

"Good time my father's holy sword is still in our house" Zenemaih said as he got up from his seat and left the library, Shadrach wanted to follow behind, but Victoria stopped him knowing what her woukd be going….

Zenemiah entered the closed room where most of his father's belongings were kept, he took the sword and stared at his father's portrait in silence for a bit.

"Father ...." Zenemiah said as if speaking to his father, "I know you will see me right now and you're probably thinking I want to throw my life away , but no !…., if there is way I can end this war, I'll take my chance, completing my training at the camp is not among my priority right now, thank you father for everything, good bye"

Zenemiah walked out of the room with tears his eyes .

Shad and Vicky stood in the living room when Zene came in with the holy sword in it's sheath.

"It's kinda suit you"Shadrach remarked.

"Mother cannot know of what we're about to embark on " Victoria added, holding the red cover book tightly against her chest.

"But I know" A sudden voice spoke making all of the children in the room flinch with surprise

That was Bartholomew, the Head butler of the Saint Clair household. He was ease dropping in their conversation for five minutes.

"Bartholomew, please I beg of you, don't tell mother about this" Zenemiah pleaded with eldest bulter of the household

He was already taking care of Kish when he was just a boy, and he understood the intention of the children - "your mother is always busy these days.. " Bartholome continued, coming down from the stairs that led to the upper rooms

"Your father knew this day would come andso he left these for you…" Bartholomew brought out a cross bag with the Saint Claire's family insignia on it and a medieval gun in a pouch

Handing them over to Victoria; the bag

Shadrach; the sheathed gun, bartholomew continued...

"You all are about to embark on a dangerous path that may lead to your untimely deaths, I know I can't talk you out of this, young people of today are so adamant and ardent about certain things..

Good luck young masters and mistress, may God guide you all" Bartholomew bowed with a grin forming on his face

The children hugged Bartholomew

immediately he finished his peptalk.

"I will make sure your mother doesn't know of your plans, but if I may ask, what do want to do now?" the bulter asked.

"To the Crusader's army base, we'll have to speak with Vice Captain Maximus, he's a friend of father, he will help us" Zenemiah pointed out.

"Very well, my carriage is still outside, we'll take that" Shad continued.

"I may not be a full pledged crusader, but I'm doing this not just for my father's name, but for Haiderguard, for England"

Victoria concluded.

"Very well then, God be with you all, and be back house quick to avoid questions from your mother" Bartholomew reminded.

And so they left the manor and entered the carriage; Zenemiah, Victoria and Shadrach and rode off to the Crusader's army base .

As the let the area on if the maids saw them leave in the carriage "where are the children off to by this time of day"

"That is not if your concern… they are no longer kids that need permission or supervision of maids…" Bartholomew shut the maid up before she could entertain any thoughts

At the base, bishop Christopher - one of the high ranking bishops in the church held a meeting with Captain Leo, Vice Captain Maximus Pierce and Anastasia at an outpost office in the compound of the Crusaders army base.

"I reassured the Duke and Duchess of Haiderguard that the Crusaders will have a team to investigate the matter of the demon's origin point".. Bishop Christopher stated

"But I thought Sir Northington of the Magruder household was tasked with the responsibility " Anastasia enquired.

"As of this moment, he is mourning the death of his late son,Rook and has been distasked of that obligation" Sir Christopher continued "This team will be led by you, Anastasia of the Keystone household"

"Me.... forgive me your Grace but I don't think I am qualified to lead this team of— " Ana tried to dismiss the bishop's word before she was as cut off

"Vice Captain Maximus here recommended you to this cause, he believed you've proven yourself to be the best person to lead this operation" Captain Leo chimed in

Anastasia turned to Maximus who gave her an approving nod. "Very well, I'll leave for the three of you to discuss further .." bishop Christopher said leaving the office with his associate priest, followed by Leo, Maximus and Anastasia.

Right at the entrance gate, Shadrach, Zenemiah and Victoria made a scene with two other crusaders trying to get inside the compound.

"We want to see Captain Leo!"

The teenagers chanted in one accord - luckily for them, Captain Leo, Vice Captain Maximus Pierce and Anastasia Keystone as well the bishop were heading towards the entrance gate of the compound when a crusader alerted them.

"Let them in" the captain ordered.

They got in, but were still around the entrance gate of the compound, walking towards them was Captain Leo, Maximus, the bishop and Anastasia .

Captain Leo recognized the sheath Zenemiah wielded ."What is your name boy?" He asked.

"Zenemiah, son of Kish Saint Claire, with me here my sister; Victoria and my friend - Shadrach Hastings"....he continued.

"We're here to join the Deliverant Unit".
