Zach and his father prepared dinner while looking after Mina at the same time. They made salad, cut watermelon and prepared salami. "What have we got here that's delicious?" smiled the mother. The father-in-law explained what they were preparing. "Why don't you ever make dinner when we're alone?" she embarrassed her husband.
The men put the food on the table. Chrissy and her mother-in-law sat down before they started eating together. It was something different, but delicious. After dinner, Chrissy and her mother-in-law went outside. Although it was only six o'clock in the evening, it was getting dark. They walked along the beach, which was not far from the house.
The waves were crashing. The mother-in-law and Chrissy walked barefoot on the grains of sand. They held their shoes in their hands. The mother-in-law looked up at the sky.
"It's your fifth child, how does that make you feel?" she asked, looking into her eyes.
"Nothing special, everything is normal. I have a nice life where I don't have too much, but not too little either," she smiled. She then added: "I never thought I would have so many children."
The mother-in-law reminisced about her time as a mother. She talked about how happy they were to finally have children and how much their children had messed up. The brief laughter faded.
"In Zach's younger years, he wasn't always honest," she added sadly. "As I told you the other time, he had several girlfriends at the same time, was always fighting and was addicted to drugs for a short time. Maybe there's more, but you should know one thing!" Chrissy stood there a little shocked. She knew that her husband had done wrong, but she could never imagine such a Zach.
"If he ever betrays or abuses you, don't hesitate and leave him behind!" her mother-in-law shocked her more. It really was a kind of familial love between Zach's mother and Chrissy. They got on really well and, most importantly, they could confide in each other.
They arrived at the next block of houses before returning.
"As long as I live," the grandmother guaranteed, "I will help you raise your children. I'm happy to be a grandmother several times over." The grandmother smiled as if her heart had fallen apart.
"Thank you for your support. I'll do it the way you told me to," they were both happy. They returned to the house together. They both went to their rooms and got ready for bed.
"And how was it outside?" Zach asked, before asking what his mother had said. Apart from the comment she made about him, she could tell him. She lay in bed and thought about what her mother-in-law had told her. Only now did Chrissy want to show her gratitude that I had saved her life. She really wanted to see me. She closed her eyes and came back to her memory.
She remembered the surroundings. "Hello mysterious stranger," she said to me, even though she didn't know I was here.
"How do you know I'm here?" echoed around the room.
"I know because you told me," she quickly replied before thanking me for saving her and her child's lives.
"Why don't you show yourself to me if I'm not allowed to have your name?" she wanted to know.
I thought for a few minutes before I showed myself to her in human form.
"This is my human form when I was a human." She looked at me and wanted to know what had happened to me.
She seemed shocked as I recounted my past events, certainly at least six months since my death. It was a tale of woe for her, because while I had almost nothing, she had everything she wanted.
"I apologize," she begged for forgiveness for bringing up such a sensitive subject. My old life is in the past. I live in the here and now. I desperately want revenge, but I can't force it on anyone.
Chrissy then wanted to know how I ended up in her body.
"You ate me," I said, while she thought about it.
"You felt me. I was in the meat you ate a week ago." She started to remember and shook herself.
"If you can control my body, saved my life, and we can communicate in my memory, then what are you?" she asked her afterward.
"I am a parasite. Reborn as a parasite."
