Inside a meeting room, guarded by the most advanced troops and walls, in the vicinity of Beijing, China, General Cao sat at the heart of the almost endless, rectangular table, a knock was made, the general gestured his hand. The security guards dressed in black high-tech combat suits opened the heavy, elegant wooden spruce door. A confident lieutenant marched in, and bowed full down to him.
"Take a seat". The general said. The lieutenant sat opposite to him and began.
"General Cao, Every first-world country is currently establishing special soldier divisions using the leaked machine, armed with the power of ancient gods…"
The general nodded his head, wholly focused on listening
"India next to us already has special divisions, all equipped with unimaginable power from gods. If we don't do something, they will soon invade us, along with every other country! This new... technology... is the key to winning this global war."
He bowed his head again upon finishing his report, the information on the highly classified report projected onto a hologram in the centre of the table. He gazed at the general for a response
"This machine is dangerous, we have no idea what risks it will bring us." General Cao stared at the political map and the classified report of the machine. Any news on the impossible machine were immediately silenced by the government as always to prevent panic from the public, replaced with irrelevant news and drama on pop singers and movie actors.
According to the report, India along with Italy, Israel and the other major countries has already begun research on the unknown technology, leaked from a blueprint by an anonymous user on social media, some even started trials, sending volunteers into mythology realms through the machine.
"We don't have a choice, General, it is either we launch Project Mythos, or be hopelessly conquered by neighbouring nations, just like Nepal, powerless against those special soldiers who inherited powers of the gods." The lieutenant knew how dire the situation would be if China did not catch up with the latest technology of the "Mythology machine", and he attempted his best effort in persuading the general to make the decision.
Hesitant, General Cao lifted his head, considering all the factors and outcomes of the decision, a red button signifying the launch of Project Mythos rose onto the advanced high-tech desk. He slowly raised hgis hand, still hesitating on the important decision. War is like a game of chess, a single blunder could turn the entire game upside down, he must think carefully.
Eventually, he slammed on the button.
"Permission to launch Project Mythos has been granted"
"Thank god!" the lieutenant said to himself upon hearing the announcement he had been dying to hear. "We will begin the construction of the Project Mythos department building, and recruitment will begin shortly. Thank you, general." The lieutenant exited the meeting room, now outside instructing his lower ranks to initiate the project.
