Yves awoke to the faint echoes of a chime, his consciousness slowly surfacing as Shapes and shadows danced at the edges of his vision, disorienting yet intriguing as he struggled to grasp his surroundings.

With a final ding, clarity washed over him like a wave. He was in a cavern, its walls adorned with mysterious symbols that glimmered faintly in the dim light. Yves blinked, trying to make sense of where he was and how he had come to be here.

"Character creation? Why doesn't it just sync with my real body like other VR games? This game is definitely ass... I don't even remember buying this." (Yves)
Yves fingers hovered over the character selection options, weighing each choice carefully.
After what felt like an eternity of debate between one or the other, he settled on a character that resonated with him nicely.

"What? Wait!"
Yves barely had time to react before a blinding light engulfed him, his body tingling as if being pulled through some unseen vortex.
Slowly, the light subsided, leaving him blinking against the sudden vast plains that surrounded him. He sat up, his heart pounding with a mixture of fear and curiosity. Where was he now?… Was this still part of the game?

"Utopia? I've never heard of a game like that. Judging from these effects, it must be pretty high-tech." (Yves)

| One New Notification |
"Open System Menu" (Yves)
Ding*
A holographic menu materialized before him, hovering in the air like an ethereal window with sections for attributes, skills, and notifications blinking with updates.
"{Apollo's Descendant}... an archery class, huh? At least it's unique class. But what skills do I start with?" (Yves)
{Bow of Apollo}
[Unique] [Upgradable]
"Only one skill? It better be good, or I'm actually uninstalling… How do i log out of this game though? Im getting kind of hungry..." (yves)
"Log out!"
"Exit!"
"Quit game!"
Yves furiously tapped at the system window, trying every command he could think of to log out. But nothing worked… nothing at all.
"I need to find a way to log out. Is there a town nearby?" (Yves)
He accessed the map function, relief flooding him as it materialized in the corner of his vision like a familiar video game HUD.
"I thought I was a goner. Now, to find that town...wait my skill i should test it before going any farther." (Yves)
Yves activated his newly acquired skill. A burst of golden light erupted from his outstretched hand, taking form of a magnificent bow smothered in flames, a relic that seemed plucked from ancient mythology and then it clicked…
"Apollo! The god of sun and archery! Oh my god, and here I thought it was just a weird class." (Yves)
Yves admired the weapon's ornate design and the power it seemed to possess for a moment. He experimented with summoning an arrow, the gesture feeling instinctive yet foreign to his body. After a couple attempts a blazing bolt materialized in his hands seething with power.
He drew back the bowstring, the arrow glowing with radiant energy. With a swift release, the bolt streaked through the air like a comet, striking down a massive tree in the distance with explosive force. The trunk splintered and shattered, sending debris flying in all directions.
"Not bad for a supposed 'game.'" (Yves)
"Using the bow drains too much mana so I'll have to save it for later." (Yves)
With a town marked on his map, Yves set off through the rugged and complicated terrain. The landscape seemed unfolded before him with many dense forests in every direction, this was no longer the plains he was just in, its almost as if he has entered a entirely different world.
As dusk began to settle, Yves stumbled upon the outskirts of a walled town that loomed like a fortress against the malicious darkness that has engulfed the surrounding forest completely. The towering walls were manned by heavy guards, their armor gleaming in the fading light, yves could understand this was no child's play town from those books of magic and fantasy.
"Looks like the monsters here are no joke. These walls are built to keep out more than just wildlife." (Yves)
impressed by the town's fortifications as he approached the nearest gate. The guard eyed him warily, hand resting on the handle of his sword.
"Sir a moment please, are there dungeons?…monsters? And how do I log out?"
Yves fired off his questions, desperate for answers to end this strange reality he has found himself trapped in.
"Dungeons? We've got one just outside the secondary gate, a hotspot for adventurers like yourself. And as for logging out..." (guard)
The guard chuckled, a almost laugh that bordered on amusement.
"This isn't a game, this is utopia." (guard)
Yves' heart sank at the realization.
"This is real…" (Yves)
He was alone in a world he knew nothing about… a moment of brief sadness was quickly overcome with relief and joy
"Man my old life was ass, thank god i don't have to go back to that shit"
The guard let out a pompous laugh before waving yvas through the gate, yvas waived bye and set his sights on the town's different structures. Motels, a busy square with markets and shops, and a adventures guild on the far side of the square out of the way but still in sight.
"I should start at the guild. They'll have more answers." (Yves)
Entering the guild hall, Yves was greeted by a cluster of voices in different languages and races; dwarven, elven, even demi-humans. He approached a group of adventurers closest to him hoping for answers, a young human woman accompanied by two formidable looking warriors.
"Excuse me, can I borrow a moment of your time? Do you know how to log out of this... game?" (Yves)
Silence descended upon the hall as all eyes turned to him, followed by a wave of laughter that echoed off the wooden walls.
"This ain't no game, honey. We get newcomers like you all the time. Your face though it sure is priceless." (Elara)
The young woman spoke with a teasing smile, but there was warmth in her eyes as she regarded Yves. He felt embarrassed, followed by a growing sense of impatience.
"Could we talk in private?" (Yves)
Elara nodded, motioning for him to follow her to a quieter corner of the guild hall. There, away from the prying eyes and mocking laughter.
"Welcome to utopia, Yves. You're not the first to arrive like this, and you won't be the last. This world... it's reality now." (Elara)
"Survival here isn't just about strength or skill," Elara continued, her voice low and earnest. "Its about your party, and your guild… i mean if you got a good guild you will live a pretty great life, just depends on what class you got… you got a class right?"
Yves nodded
"My class is called {apollos descendent} its a unique class" (Yves)
Elara appeared shocked at what she just heard…
"A Unique tier? The highest I've heard of are epic snd legendary tiers and even those guys make it big in the capital city." (Elara)
As the night deepened, Elara introduced him to other members of the team Grumnir, the gruff dwarf with a talent for earth magic, and Lyra, the elven cleric whose healing spells were regarded as top tier. They shared stories for a bit and then passed out on the table.
"Help me take these guys up to our room, if your lucky i might let you crash on my floor, rookie" Elara whispered winking at yves
Yves helped carry lyra up to the top floor and threw her onto the bed before laying down on the floor and passing out completely. The day had finally come to an end.
