The group of recruits stepped into the Transportation Circle, the same light as before engulfed their bodies, making them disappear.

Upon reaching the front of the General's personal training room, Kenny opened the doors and walked inside. On the far right of the room he saw the General performing varied stretching exercises, preparing for what Kenny knew was another beating.
The General noticed Kenny as he stood up.
"Your back. Did you reach rank two?" The General asked
"Yeah, I did" said Kenny as he walked up to the General.
"Good, now we can start on your actual training. What Gift did you receive.?"
Kenny gave the General a smug look.
"Reanimation, I can reanimate the dead and have them serve me and their "king", with absolute loyalty."
The General looked stunned by Kenny's words, but then a huge smile on his face appeared, the potential he saw in Kenny wasn't just potential anymore. The General was certain that if given the right opportunites, Kenny would become one, if not the most useful Vanquishers.
Having the ability of Reanimation would mean that Kenny could possibly have an army of his own.
This made the General excited.
"Are there any limitations, and have you used it?" The general asked.
"I used it to reanimate a King Arachnid, and the only limitations that I know of is that there's a limit on how many attempts I get to reanimate a single dead, and that there power is greatly reduced, probably because of my low rank.
This made the General even more intrigued.
"Show me."
"Come forth."
A red light appeared behind Kenny that soon turned into a portal of some sorts. The King Arachnid walked out of it looking the same as when Kenny first encountered it, only now it wasn't a ferocious beast out for his life.
The General observed the beast with a curious look on his face.
"When you say absolute loyalty, it'll do anything you say?" The General questioned Kenny.
"Yeah, pretty much."
The General turned his gaze toward Kenny.
"If I kill it, will it be gone for good?"
"I'm not sure." Kenny replied.
The General walked up to the beast and with great force, punched the King Arachnid, completely destroying it. The punch was so devastating that it not only sent the barley intact beast flying into the wall, but Kenny as well due to the shock wave.
"What the hell are you doing old man!"
The General looked over at Kenny.
"Testing it out, you have to know everything about your gift in order to improve it. Besides, if it's actually dead now, we can just get you another one."
Kenny turned towards the King Arachnid. The poor thing was blown to smithereens, only three of its eight legs were intact, one of them barely hanging on. Its entire body was crushed under the weight of the blow.
As Kenny was looking at the King Arachnid, he noticed a faint mist coming from the King Arachnid's body. Soon, it's entire body was covered in the white mist which seemed to be disintegrating its body.
Once the entire body was gone, Kenny received a notification.
[Level 1 King Arachnid Recovery time: 3 days]
'Level 1?'
"So, is it still alive?" The General asked.
"Yeah it is but I have to wait three days to be able to summon it again. It also says level 1 which probably means I can level it up and make it stronger."
General Yemel put his hand on his chin and said:
"Interesting, you really hit the jackpot with that gift of yours."
The General took his hand off his chin and look up at Kenny.
"I'll have your group and some others go on an expedition with an elite one. You'll only be there if you're needed, so don't interfere unless your ordered to."
Kenny quickly stood up.
"Yes, sir!"
As Kenny began to walk towards the door the General stopped him.
"Wait Kenny. Starting tomorrow, we'll be doing actual training, so prepare your self for more grueling and painful work."
Kenny didn't like the idea of having to go through grueling and painful work, but he was happy that he was finally going to be taught something instead of getting beaten.
Kenny left the room and proceeded to walk through a long hallway. He began to think about his new gift, which made him excited. Just like the General, he started to think about the new Gifts' potential. If he wanted to, he could build an army of his own since the system didn't say that there was an amount of servants he could have. But there could be a limit that Kenny wasn't made aware of, so there was still some experimenting to do.
Kenny smiled.

The Lieutenant's loud voice echoed throughout training ground 13. She spoke one of her usual speeches which Kenny had grown tired of. But soon, she said something that made Kenny excited.
"I've been notified that we've been selected to go on an expedition of a white pathway, so prepare yourselves! That is all!"
The group looked uneasy since it's quite uncommon for a fresh platoon to be selected for a expedition this early in their career. It would also be their first expedition to Purgatory.
"White pathway? What does the white mean?" Claire asked.
Kenny looked over to Claire and sighed.
"Are you serious? Don't you know that there are 3 types of pathways?"
Claire hesitated, then said:
"N-No."
"White, yellow, and red, which signify the quantity and/or the quantity of demons in the area where the pathway is located."
"Oh… I see."
William looked over to Claire with a sympathetic expression.
"Don't worry Claire, I didn't know that either until recently."
"Really Will?"
Claire smiled and said:
"I guess I'm not the only nut job here."
William smiled.
Kenny left and walked to the barracks, since it was night he wanted to rest for tomorrow's expedition and be prepared for it. Although he knew that he wouldn't be doing much, he still wanted to be ready for anything.
He arrived to his designated room and sat down on one of the desks next to the bunk bed. He grabbed a paper and a dip pen which was situated on the desk.
He began to write a letter to his mother. He wrote about his experiences in the short amount of time that he's been in the Vanquisher Corps, also that he'd be leaving on an expedition the next day.
After he finished writing the letter he put it into an envelope, climbed into his bed, and fell asleep.
