Once Kaylessa finished mocking the small turtle, she commanded her troops to depart and begin marching in an organized line, with Laurelena leading them.
The Kaylessa team had been traveling for an hour when they reached the besieged village. On high alert, they followed Laurelena's suggestion to detour through the forest to approach the enemy from a strategic position.
They came upon what they believed to be the initial settlement, which was encircled by numerous horrifying beings. The opposing force consisted mostly of goblins, with fewer than 50 orcs, and a troll appeared to be the leader of these creatures.
Ayaka and Kaylessa were brainstorming a plan to eliminate certain enemies without attracting all the creatures towards them. The hit-and-run strategy was not feasible as they lacked mounts or flying beasts.
The small turtle overheard the chatter of the two girls and made the choice to participate in their conversation.
"Ahem, if your only goal is to draw in some adversaries, I can accomplish that effortlessly, but on the condition that from now on, everyone will refer to me as Grandpa Turtle."
The small turtle made a boastful statement, holding its head up high in a manner that appeared condescending to others. However, it seemed more like the turtle was simply trying to see everyone better by positioning its head at an elevated angle.
Kaylessa thought the situation was amusing, Ayaka was speechless, and Larelena was embarrassed, covering her face.
"Fine, do as you please, clever little turtle, but if you attract all the foes to us and we manage to make it out alive, we'll be feasting on turtle soup as we grieve our losses!"
Kaylessa made the choice to test out the small turtle, while the turtle simply made the hump expression with its face and moved to the front of the group.
Kaylessa organized her team without delay, positioning shield walls at the forefront, fighters on the flanks, archers behind the shields, mages behind the archers, and Ayaka in the center together with Laurelena, surrounded by archers and mages in a wagon, as Kay stood beside her, ready to issue commands.
She then urged the small turtle to proceed with the task. The tiny turtle simply huffed, and a glowing green light enveloped it.
"Hey you ugly creatures, sons of %"£", come and eat my turtles %£!"£!$"
There was universal astonishment, with jaws dropping in disbelief. However, the surprise extended beyond the human observers to include the nightmarish creatures, who found themselves speechless before some of them rushed towards the tiny turtle.
The turtle sauntered behind the shield wall with an air of self-satisfaction, casting a disdainful eye over the crowd below.
Kaylessa paid no attention to the turtle as the nightmarish beings drew near, yet somehow the [taunting] skill of the turtle seemed to be effective as only a fraction of the enemy forces approached rather than the entire army.
"Ayaka, you will be in charge of leading the archers and mages, while Laurelena will accompany the mages. It is important to follow Ay's instructions and not attempt to escape. Once the battle commences, I will position myself on one of the flanks."
Kaylessa instructed both girls, who simply nodded in agreement. When the nightmarish creatures approached, Ayaka commanded the archers to start shooting. The fire arrows weren't able to halt the orcs completely, but they did manage to inflict some damage and halt a few goblins.
"Brace for impact!"
Kaylessa instructed the shield formation, and they immediately activated their protective abilities. Following that command, she directed the right flank to initiate the offensive. Once the right side engaged in combat, she called upon her [thunder militia 1/1] and launched a coordinated attack with the left flank.
"Archers, provide protection on the right side! Mages, focus your spells on the orcs!"
Ayaka commanded as she swiftly aimed and shot arrows at key enemies, causing them to fall back and ease the load on the soldiers.
Kaylessa's striking white hair and silver spear give her an impressive appearance, as if she is gracefully moving through the battlefield. Utilizing her high dexterity, she swiftly defeats her foes with precise strikes, never staying in one spot long enough to be retaliated against.
With support from the archer, mages, and Ayaka, the enemies were rapidly defeated in succession. The Kaylessa squad sustained moderate injuries but nothing severe, and their spirits remained high as they witnessed their stunning captain and her right-hand beauty in battle, resembling godesses of victory.
Kaylessa Squad was amazed by the appearance of the magical warrior she summoned; each time it was struck, a small lightning would appear to retaliate against the attacker, and whenever it struck an opponent, it would inflict powerful lightning damage. This made the warrior incredibly powerful and impressive.
"Ahem, did you forget about something?"
When the small turtle made a noise, the soldiers looked in its direction. Would they now need to address the turtle as their grandpa? Surely that couldn't be true; their captain would never approve.
Despite their expectations, Kaylessa approached the turtle with gratitude, addressing him as "grandpa turtle." With a smirk on her face, Kaylessa fulfilled her end of the agreement, while the soldiers, accepting their destiny, also paid their respects and referred to him as grandpa in harmony.
Ayaka signed and shook her head, causing Laurelena to feel mortified once more. Her small companion brought her overwhelming embarrassment.
In the valley, the group was unaware of the events unfolding in the dense forest above. The Kaylessa team valiantly battled the nightmarish beings, their view obstructed by the distance and thick foliage. Only glimpses of green light and fleeting images of the creatures could be seen running through the trees from the town.
The town guards desperately prayed that the creature lurking beyond the forest was not another terrifying menace like the troll they had been dealing with for some days. The enemy's sheer numbers were overwhelming, making it easy for them to raid and pillage the town, and they didn't want more.
