Chapter 1 - PROlOGUE

MC's POV:

'Ah...the time has come yet again.'

I cannot feel my legs anymore. My fist, known as the strongest, has now become as skinny as a stick.

My senses are fading away.

The all-knowing eyes I was so proud of have lost their function as well...

I don't even know who is beside me anymore.

But somewhere in the back of my head, I think I do. I did know that there is no one beside me right now. In fact, there was no one here from the start.

I, deemed the strongest in the world, was slowly withering away to the abyss again, and there was no one to soothe me in my last moments 'again.'

I have lived almost a thousand lives, with a thousand different names, but something always left me alone at the end of each life. It was like someone cursed me for something I shouldn't have done.

'But what did I do wrong?'

Cough**Cough

For as long as I can remember, my first life was definitely an ordinary one. The only mystery that I could not find anything about was my parents' death.

It was like they disappeared one day, leaving no trace behind. Even in the neighborhood in which we lived, no one knew anything about them. It was like someone erased their existence.

Sigh...

These useless thoughts will not get me anywhere.

Just when Mason's (MC's current name) soul was about to leave his body, he heard a voice.

'Brian....'

Who is it? I don't remember this voice, nor can I see him. This has never happened before.

'Who a-'

Before I could say anything again, my soul left the body.

And yet again, I found myself conscious inside the same old dark place. The dark place was an abyss, an endless void that seemed to swallow light and sound.

Before I had any chance to think about what had just happened, a figure, which appeared to be a man, slowly started to head toward me.

The man was now just a few steps away from me. He was a tall man with skin as white as snow, almost pale, blood-red eyes, and an aura that was the strongest I had ever seen.

Confused by the sudden appearance of a man in the abyss where I had never seen even a speck of life, I clenched my fist and focused my gaze on him. This was the first time my instincts were telling me to be on guard.

Not even the sect leader of the heavenly demon sect, or even the 10th class archmage Mikhail, had this fierce aura.

Watching me prepare for combat, the man in front of me started laughing ridiculously.

'HAHAHAHAHA'

'You have grown up to be a fine man, Brian.'

'Who are you?? How do you know that name??'

That was the name given to me by the parents of my first life. It had been ages since I had heard that name.

'I know you have a lot of questions, but I cannot answer all of them right now.'

'The right time shall come soon. The only thing that I can tell you is that the one who cursed you in this eternal cycle of life and death will soon approach you again.'

'This life will be the hardest of all the lives you have ever lived.'

'Whatever happens, don't ever give up and live this life without any regrets, my son.'

Just as he completed his last sentence, the figure of the man who just called me his son disappeared into the abyss.

Who was he? Why did he call me his son? I do not remember him being my father in any of my lives.

Just then, I felt a sudden sharp pain. It was the most amount of pain I had ever experienced.

With the sudden pain surging through every fiber of my soul, a cluster of memories flowed inside me.

They were the memories of the man who called me his son.
