The first class took all morning. Rightly so, since they were to attend only two classes for the initial time. Soon after, it was lunch and every student made their way to the dining hall.
They sat to eat with most of them talking about the first class. It wasn't easy to grasp. It would have been surprising if they had all gotten it at once.
They chowed down on whatever diet there academy dimmed it fit to give them since they would be training their bodies. After lunch was an hour break that Enoe used to force Kiyan to tell him his plan.
"Come on.. don't keep it from me! Telling me will only make it easier you know?" He said.
"And how will it make it easier?" Kiyan asked. They were sat in a now empty classroom with just them, Lecter and Jarett.
"You'll have to tell me first to find out." Enoe said.
"Fine fine. Here it is.." Kiyan started but was stopped by the same Enoe that had been begging that he spill.
"Hold on." He shushed Kiyan with his finger over his lips. Kiyan slapped it off.
"You can trust these two?" He pointed at Jarett and Lecter. "Do they know?" He asked.
Kiyan nodded once.
"Just know, if either one of you betrays my spawns, you're dead." Enoe warned them.
"The same could be said for you." Lecter replied.
"Back to the idea you had." Enoe returned his attention to Kiyan who needed a nudge from his brother to bring him back from wherever his mind usually wandered off too.
"Hm? Oh yes," he cleared his throat. "This is what I had in mind." He then went on to explain in detail what the back and forth bickering in the first class had given him.
Enoe stared wide-eyed and then smiled.
"I really didn't make a poor choice of friends." He said.
"How did you even think of that?" Lecter asked.
"The question should be how are we going to pull this off?" Jarett said.
"That shouldn't be a worry right now. First we just see how things play out here, then we can decide on what to do." Raten relaxed on the chair thinking back to the lesson they earlier had.
They already knew it, even the more complex parts the professor didn't go into. Ever since they left the village, they read every single book they could find on magic and practiced them.
When their father and uncles went out on long trips, they returned with a lot more books and would tell them things most people didn't know that only Pre-generation knew of.
Coming to the academy was only for the plan they had spoken to Enoe about when they were eleven. Doing it anywhere outside would have them captured easily. In a place like Darkmoon, which is secluded and can easily give them what they need, it was the best option.
"Enoe, go find her." Raten said staring up at the ceiling. Enoe nodded and ran out.
"I'll be back before you're given a chance to miss me!"
"I have another question, why is she necessary?" Jarett asked.
A smile etched on Raten's lips and he sat upright.
"Power is a necessity in all of this. Without it, it is all pointless. And she is just a well of power that is overflowing. Easy to grab and tame before someone else does." He replied.
"You said she didn't agree to partner with you." Lecter said.
"Of course she didn't. Would you, if I suddenly showed up and made baseless claims about taking down the sovereign?" Raten asked. "That was the predicted outcome and it's better that way for us, because this means we can edge her to accept the actual clause we've set aside."
"Still, we were able to come to an agreement." He smiled. "Alba Moon is a descendant of one of the great families of old and that is not an ally you can pass up on."
"How were you able to tell?" Jarett asked.
"We're able to tell because we're descendants of one of those families, you dunce." Kiyan pulled his ear. "She knows it too which is why she is a bit more inclined to listen to us."
"And right now, she is learning why it is important we stay close." Raten laid back on the seat again. "She's probably in trouble." He snickered.
Just as he said, the blindfolded girl who introduced herself to them as Alba Moon was cornered by a student with long dark hair and a never fading sinister look in his eyes.
"I never thought I'd bump into another one." He crouched over her as she lay on the floor with blood trickling down her nose and a gag over her mouth.
Unlike the twins who were willing to talk and was seeking to become allies to a clause, he had said what he wanted, she refused and well he was going to take it by force which was his original plan.
"It is quite foolish of you to not be aware and then show up here. Anyway, since you have refused to join me I just have to take it." He grinned and his eyes were now a different colour from the usual eerie darkness it had about it.
They now were an orange like the sunset and had a ring of stars around the iris. He placed his hand over her chest and it emitted a glow similar to his eyes. The same ring of stars appeared above her chest and her body started to glow as well.
She shook her head and tried to move but, as if her body was frozen, she couldn't move.
"You having all these chains on just makes this easier." He said softly as the light around his hand began coating her from head to toe. "It's as if you had prepared yourself like a nice little present for me."
She cried and whimpered as the light covered the ends of her head and began joining with the light of his hands.
"Sorry, but your life ends here." He said but was suddenly flung to another side of the room.
He got up immediately and was met an unsmiling Enoe.
"Oh? It's the squirt from the maze. Ready for round two?" Enoe said and cracked his knuckles as the light slowly faded from Alba's body.
"I'm going to kill you."
