Chapter 1 - chapter 1

Tesla.K.Walter

My name is Tesla Katherine Walter. Oh, sorry, Tesla Katherine Kelvan.. the youngest and only daughter of Andrew walter. Today is my wedding. I'm standing before the large windows of this five-star hotel, admiring the beauty outside. Far from  here, I see horizons covered by trees with different colours and, under it, a sea- like- river. It is flowing peacefully like everything is alright, telling everyone not to be afraid. not forgetting the east sun, which was lighting life to all beings. The view was to kill for, and if I wasn't in this situation, I'd have enjoyed the blessings to the full. How can one's life be totally doomed in this beautiful world. But things were different... Awful differently. It's my wedding day with Red.. Red fucking Kelvan, my swore enemy. Usually people marry for love but do I love this guy? That's a big no. I hate him. I fucking hate him that I'm not sure I'll be able to wear white after today. I never hated someone to this level, not even my father who hated me from the moment I landed on the Earth.

When I finished high school, I was overjoyed.. no.. I was burning with ecstasy, humming to myself that it's over. That finally... Finally I was free. Free from dad, his killing gaze, his prison and mostly his hatred. Free from everything though there was things I wasn't ready to let go. I didn't want to be rich anymore, I wanted to live, I longed to breath, to feel my heartbeat and that was something thing I'll never get in my father's house. That's why I applied in a college far from home. Ofcourse father was against it but with my brother, my dear big brother on my side, I finally got free. His name is Hope, Hope Jonathan. He is my source of hope, motivation and a shoulder to cry on. He is everything to me. I can give everything for him and his  family's happiness. His wife is adorable too. She is kind and welcoming. Her name is Sarah and they have a little girl named Jenny.

I never Thought that even enemies can be soulmates until the day I met Red again....

One month ago.

" Sis... I need you please" Krispy's sobing voice pleaded on other side of the phone. Krispy is my cousin. She is in her first year of college but she still act like a child. She has a relationship problems. She can't stay with a guy more than a month. Don't get me wrong, she pretty, nice figure, attractive, she is everything a man can dream on a girl. I guess it run in the family. I'm not trying to be cocky here or bragging about my beaty but I can't deny the fact that beauty run In our family. Maybe because almost everyone is half breed. My father's mom was a Filipino and mine was a Filipino too. We left Philippine when I was ten. It was painful to leave not only that I was leaving my friends behind but also I felt like I was leaving my mom. The love and warmth I felt Everytime I visited her grave though I had to do it in secret in case father found out. A Year later, aunt, dad's sister divorced her husband and came to live with us.

" What happened Kris?" I asked her already  knowing that she might have got another ex boyfriend.

" That son of bitch cheated on me. He fucking cheated on me " she started crying again. " And that shameless jerk dared to break up with me in front of his bitch" I unconsciously rolled my eyes. This was it. She wasn't hurt that he cheated or that they broke up, she only cared about losing face and that she wasn't the one to dump him. That's how she is and I can't blame her.

" It was so embarrassing. No one have ever dared to break up with me. I really want to die..." She cried out before I heard her scream and a sound of screeching brakes. I quickly jumped off the couch and started dialing her number but she didn't answer. I tracked her phone using GPS locationof her phone and luckily I was familiar with the place. I went to my room, took the car keys and stormed out of the apartment. I tried calling throughout the ride but her phone was off.

When I reached the place, no one was there and there was no trace of accident. The road was quite as usual and people were crossing like they normally do. I felt my chest suddenly tightening. Was she already taken to the hospital? What if she was badly hurt? Tears clouded my eyes as I anxiously looked around searching. How in the world am I gonna find her? Many questions like this were floating my mind as I stood like a real maniac. I desperately drew my phone from the my coat pocket and dialled her number again. To my relief, this time it wasn't off. I waited for what seemed like minutes while it was only a few seconds before I heard her cheerful voice over the phone.

"Tsap, baby?" She cheerfully asked as she always do.

"What baby huh? What the hell happened? Why was your phone off? Do you know how scared I was?" I bombarded her with questions and I heard her groan in annoyance, but you can't blame me too, right? She scared the shit out of me.

"Hey chill" she shouted. "How am I supposed to answer all those questions in one go. Spare my neurons okay!". Shit! I hate she turn tables and make it seem like I was disturbing her while it was the exact opposite.

"Okay. Just.... answer this.."I was still anxious so I struggled in my words. "Are you alright?"

"I should be the one asking you that" she nonchalantly asked back. I rolled my eyes at my stupidity. Why in the world was I given a troublemaker as a cousin..

"Where are you now? I'll come to you. I finally cut the little chit chat. It was better to check on her in person. She sent me her location and hung up before I could even add a word.

What's so good about hanging up first. I scowled, checking her location. She was in a nearby coffee shop. I turned and went to park my car in right place and matched toward the shop. After entering I roamed my eyes around the less crowded place and managed to decipher the black haired girl sitting in the corner, gracefully enjoying her coffee and dessert. I sighed in relief and walked myself in to her table. I pulled the chair and sat opposite her. That's when she realized I was there. She was lost in thoughts.

"Oh you are here! So fast" she beamed. I was confused. Few minutes ago she crying to me and now she looks like she has won a lottery or she lost a kg of weight. Yeah, she always want to lose weight despite how skinny she is.

"What makes you so happy? I thought you were hit by a car" I asked taking a bite on her dessert before beckoning the the waiter to bring me coffee.

She grinned and played with her spoon. "I thought so too".

"And that makes you happy" I scoffed, realizing I will never understand the girl in this life.

"Yeah. Because I met my prince charming" she gushed in delight. I couldn't help rolling my eyes.

"And here I thought you were dead"

"Nonsense. But I'd prefer to if it means I'll get to meet him again". Oh stop me! What's wrong with this girl. Wasn't she crying a minute ago that her boyfriend dumped her. I ignored her and thanked the waiter before sipping my coffee.

"Your mind is like that of a fish. No wonder you almost died on the streets" I mocked.

"Then I wouldn't be able to meet my prince charming" Yeah she doesn't even care about being called mindless.

"Tell me about this new prince of yours" I asked. She would force me to hear anyways so I should try being interested at least.

"This one is totally different," she stated pushing herself closer so she doesn't need to speak loud.

"You also said that about the first one" I corrected.

"Whatever! Just know he is unique. I was talking to you..."

"Crying " I emphasised.

"Okay crying, and I unconsciously crossed the road and a black BMW almost run over me. Luckily the driver was quick to catch brakes. Thats when you heard me sream. I trembled in fear and fell down. And then a handsome guy in suit come out of the car. Oh you should have seen how his shoulders moved as he walked toward me. I thought I was already dead. Since he looked like an Angel in suit" I smiled at how she flipped her arms in air. Though I sometimes find her annoying, her way of narrating stories always amaze me.

"He knelt before me and stretched out his strong arms to me.he gently put them on my shoulders and I swear I almost fainted. Well that's before I heard his sexy voice. Trust me I had to recite mom's poems so that i can keep my composure" I couldn't hold my laughter anymore. Krispy always hated reciting poems and too bad for her, aunt is a poem writer so she was always forced to memorise them. However, they come in handy whenever she is scared.

"So what happened after?" I asked.

"He left after confirming thar I was okay" she breathed sadly.

"So you won't meet him again" I more like suggested. I could see she was head over heels with him yet that's Kris, she get charmed easily.

"Who said I won't meet him again" she snapped.

"You never mentioned you will " I clarified, my hands on my chest, trying to calm my heart which was raced by her sudden increase of voice.

"That's where my genius comes in" she smirked. I raised a brow for her to continue..

"He insisted on taking me to the hospital but I declined it. So he left me his number to call him if anything happens" she couldn't hide her delight as she said the last sentence.

"You really are genius" I nodded in approval, which she nodded back.

"But I'm wondering how and what to write to him" she whispered as if someone would leak the information. I'm not listening to that because if she start, then I'd end up staying the night in this coffee shop.

"Umh, I have somewhere to be.see you at home " I made my quick escape before she could trap me in her den.

"Hey, I haven't finished yet". I heard her shout behind me.

I was walking to the parking lot when I noticed a mall across the road and decided to take some groceries home. I entered and picked everything I needed and went to the counter to pay.

"Cash or card?" The store keeper politely asked.

"Cash"

"Card," a male voice answered in unison, beside me. We both turned, and our eyes met. I was like struck by lightning. How come it's him? Wasn't he supposed to be abroad? I stared at him blankly, and he stared back. It's only when the store keeper cleared her throat that we averted our eyes. I looked anywhere but him and tried my best to hide my face with my long hair. She checked for him first, and he immediately went out after paying.

"I guess he didn't recognise me." I sighed in relief and offered the cash to the confused girl before me.
