Chapter 12 - The Perfect Plan.

John and Emma sat in the study, the weight of the recent events heavy on their minds. The crackling fireplace provided a warm ambiance, but the tension in the room was palpable. John poured them both a glass of whiskey, hoping to ease the tension just a bit.

"We need to figure out our next move," John said, his voice steady but determined. "We can't keep running. We need answers."

Emma nodded, taking a sip of her drink. "I agree. But where do we start? The mafia is well-connected and dangerous. Going after them directly could be suicide."

John leaned back in his chair, thinking. "We need to hit them where it hurts. If we can kidnap the mafia boss Franco moretti and interrogate him, we might be able to find out why your former organization wants him dead and sent you after him."

Emma's eyes widened. "Kidnap the mafia boss? That's a tall order, John. We'd need a perfect plan and elaborate for that to succeed."

John smiled, a determined glint in his eyes. "Then let's come up with one. We need to use a combination of force and intelligence. We have the resources and the people. We just need to execute it flawlessly."

Emma nodded, her mind already racing with ideas. "Okay, first we need to gather intel on his whereabouts and routines. We need to know when and where he'll be most vulnerable."

John reached for his laptop and pulled up a secure network. "I'll have my contacts dig up everything they can about him, his routine like where he goes to. In the meantime, we need to prepare our team."

Emma stood up, pacing the room as she thought out loud. "We'll need a diversion. Something to draw his security away. Then, we strike hard and fast."

John nodded. "Agreed. We'll need to disable his security systems and neutralize his guards. Once we have him, we extract as much information as possible and get out before they can regroup."

John's security chief, Mark, walked in, sensing the urgency. "What's the plan, boss?"

John and Emma explained their idea, and Mark's eyes lit up with determination. "I'll assemble a team. We'll need our best people on this."

As the hours passed, the details of the plan began to take shape. John's contacts provided valuable intel: the mafia boss,Franco moretti, was set to attend a private meeting at one of his secure warehouses on the outskirts of the city. It was heavily guarded but not impenetrable.

Emma outlined the plan. "We'll split into two teams. Team A will create a diversion at the front gate by planting and setting off explosives at the front of the building, drawing the majority of the guards away, team A will then engage them for a few minutes and withdraw after that, allowing Team B, consisting of us, to infiltrate from the back, disable the security systems, and take out the other security guard and grabbing Franco moretti before his main security guards come back."

Mark added, "We'll need to jam their communications to prevent them from calling for backup. We'll also need to move fast and have an extraction vehicle ready."

John nodded. "And we'll need a safe house to take Franco moretti for interrogation. Somewhere they can't trace back to us."

The night before the operation, the team gathered in the estate's war room. Maps, blueprints, and intel reports covered the large table. Everyone was briefed on their roles and the importance of precision.

Emma, dressed in tactical gear, addressed the team. "Remember, this is a high-risk operation. Stick to the plan, and we'll get through this. Our objective is to capture Franco moretti alive and extract information. No unnecessary risks."

John looked around the room, meeting each person's gaze. "We're doing this because it's our only chance to get answers and put an end to the threat against us. Let's stay focused and get it done."

The team moved out under the cover of darkness, the tension building as they approached the warehouse. Team A positioned themselves near the front gate, ready to create the diversion. Team B, led by John and Emma, moved silently through the shadows to the back entrance.

Mark signaled over the radio. "Team A, in position."

John replied, "Team B, ready."

With a nod from John, Team A initiated the diversion, setting off explosives and causing chaos at the front gate. Alarms blared, and guards scrambled to respond to the perceived attack.

"Now!" Emma whispered, leading Team B to the back entrance. They quickly disabled the security systems and slipped inside.

The interior of the warehouse was dimly lit, filled with crates and equipment. They moved swiftly, neutralizing any remaining guards with silencers. Emma spotted Franco moretti in a meeting room, surrounded by a few bodyguards.

"On my mark," she whispered, counting down. "Three, two, one…"

They burst into the room, guns drawn. The bodyguards barely had time to react before they were disarmed and incapacitated. Franco moretti , taken by surprise, tried to reach for a weapon, but John was faster, pinning him against the wall.

"You're coming with us," John growled.

Within minutes, they had Franco moretti secured and ready for extraction. The team moved quickly, knowing they had limited time before more guards arrived.

As they loaded Franco moretti into the extraction vehicle, he glared at John and Emma's covered faces"You won't get away with this. My people will find you."

Emma leaned in close, her voice cold. "We'll see about that."

The vehicle sped away, heading towards the safe house. The operation had gone smoothly, but they knew the real challenge was just beginning. They needed to get answers from Franco moretti , and they needed to do it fast.

As they reached the safe house, John and Emma prepared for the interrogation. The truth behind the mafia's involvement and the reasons for the assassination attempt on Franco moretti's life were within their grasp. Now, it was time to uncover the secrets that had put them in such grave danger.
