Emily's POV
I woke up the following morning with a splitting headache I looked around surprised I was in a strange room I tried to recall the event of last night but what I could remember was me entering a club I had planned on drinking alone when a man approached me and we drank till we were drunk and he offered for me to spend the night with him and then!!
I gripped the duvet tightly and sat upright and then I saw the sleeping man and I froze. It was real!! The man looks more handsome than I thought. His hair was disheveled and I recalled running my fingers through his hair, and how I had bitten him. I hope I didn't mark him.
I pulled my hair in frustration. I had lost my virginity not to my mate but to a stranger. I climbed out of the bed in tears and saw my underwear lying on the floor how shameless you've been Emily! I searched for my gown and put everything on hastily, not waking the handsome man.
I was about to go but I went back to the sleeping man and pecked him.
"Thank you for treating me like a lady." I whispered.
I opened the door creakily and dashed out of the place. I hope I don't see him again in my life, I said as I waved for a taxi.
I kept tapping my legs and biting my fingers in regret that my mom would be so worried Stella too. I should have just gone home and explained the entire situation to her,I pray my mom didn't go and yell at Alpha Mayhem.
I got to the house and tiptoed to the back door. I entered through the kitchen luckily for me she wasn't there. I was about to go to my room when I heard mom arguing with someone.
"She's not even your daughter!" The woman who I recognized to be the one of the elders' wives yelled at my mom.
I froze and tried to eavesdrop at their conversation.
"Don't think we don't know how you went to adopt her, you never had a child for Jones why act as if you care for her." She hissed.
"I took her in as my own Emily is my daughter just talk to the Alpha for me." My mom pleaded and held the hem of her shirt.
What were they talking about? I'm not my mom's biological child? My eyes stung and I clenched my fist.
"He rejected her publicly, there's nothing I can do." She removed my mom's hand from her.
The woman took her bag and left, my mom slumped on the couch and I stepped out of where I was hiding.
"Emily…when..did…you get here?" She stood up.
"I'm not your real child?" I asked her.
"Where have you been,I was so worried about you Stella called and i-"
"Answer the question Mom!!" I growled at her.
I could feel my body shaking,my claws were coming out and I could feel the fur I was going to shift. My mom gasped. I'm sure she has never seen me get angry this way before.
"I'm sorry Emily, I'm sorry." She cried and tried to hold me but I dodged.
I ran to my room and slammed the door shut and I growled furiously and wailed in pain.
"I hate you moon goddess." I cursed.
"You did nothing more than to make my life miserable."
"I'm glad you are happy seeing me suffer!!" I screamed again.
I tore my bread and spread it in anger. I broke everything that I saw.I wanted to do something that would ease my temper since I couldn't shift properly into my wolf, but nothing was working.
Two weeks passed since I got rejected and found out that my mom isn't my real mom. I had locked myself in and didn't talk to anyone. Stella would come visiting and I would ignore her. My mom would try striking a conversation with me but I would ignore her. I was like a walking ghost.
My hair was disheveled and my skin color had gone pale. Most times I would just stare at the space and talk to myself alone.I was broken for the past twenty years of my life I've been lied to.
"Two coffees please." I gave the girl her order.
I had to resume work because I was tired of staying indoors and seeing my mom's face would just bring back the pain.
"Would you try smiling at Emily? You are going to scare the customers away." My boss Philip snapped at me.
I didn't reply to him and I continued with my work. I had changed in a way I wasn't scared of people's reaction towards me. I was just there. It was like the old Emily wasn't there.
"Welcome." My boss greeted the next customer.
I looked up at who the person was and I hiccuped nervously.
"You?" My eyes widened.
